I had already finished one series of this author and so I didn't hesitate to pick up another book of hers. And I wasn't disappointed with my decision.

The book cover shimmers and attracts the readers with its beautiful portrayal of Stassi. The first impression of the book carries into the story too. The story starts off good with the introduction of Cal, one of the protagonists and his back story. Then Stassi is pulled into the story and thus begins an emotional journey for the Faedin which ends

I'm sure this warrants a sequel. This is too good to leave as just one story. Especially if he remembers. I could not leave the story alone for too long. Even whilst working. A great story and well worth reading. Sequel please.

Eden’s Creatures is about a boy names Cal Taylor. When the reader is introduced to Cal, he is being beaten up by three boys. Cal does not fight back; he feels he has no chance against three so he just hopes they go away as soon as possible. After they are gone his little brother, Landon, comes up and meets him to walk home with him. When they get home they hear the sounds of Landon’s father, Cal’s stepfather, beating their mother. So Cal goes running to stop him and gets beaten for interfering. ...more

I liked this book. Cal has a horrible life. His mother could care less about him, his step-father likes to beat him and his mother, and there are bullies at school. The only bright spot in his life is his little brother. Then one day, he accidentally enters another world and meets Stassi. She is basically the opposite of him and together they make an interesting pair that must save the world.
I liked the land of Faedin. I absolutely disliked Cal's home life and how he had to deal with all that ho

Cal Taylor has a rough life. His mother could care less about him, his step fathers beats him and his mother, and the bullies at school beat him too. The only bright thing in his life is his little brother. On day when things are particularly rough, he escapes to the woods behind his house for a break. He enters Veil and starts his adventure with Stassy. Stassy has watched Cal for a long time and wants to be more like him, human. Together they are to help the Faedin keep the Gai’tan, the evil se ...more

Full Review at: What's Beyond Forks?

Eden's Creatures by Valerie Zambito puts a different spin on Eden, Fallen Angels, and Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. Stassi seems to have an almost dream life in paradise, while Cal lives a pretty hellish life. Together they couldn't be more different, but they work. I didn't feel the chemistry as strong as I would have liked to between these two. They seemed to have strong feelings for each other at times, but they let their differences separate them too

This could have been so much more. Instead I felt rushed, confused, and often times had no idea what was going on. At times thing happened so fast I felt I was skipping whole chapters when I was actually reading every word. The last chapter was, well, cliche and you will see it coming as soon as you realize actly what the story is (all of 2 chapters in). I did like the epilogue but a few good chapters does not make an entire book.
