After reading the classic tale of the beautiful princess who takes refuge from her wicked, jealous stepmother in the cottage of seven dwarfs, the reader is invited to turn the book upside down and read an updated version told from the point of view of the stepmother.
Unfortunately this isn't as strong as some others of Granowsky, that I've read in the past. But it's still representative of a valuable, and fun, series, and I highly recommend that you read, with your children/ students, whichever you can find.
The problem in this is that the queen doesn't sound all that sincere, and it's hard to feel sympathetic towards her.
Dr.Granowsky has written another in a series of point of view fairy tales in which he presents the traditional version then, flipping the book, he presents the story from the villian's side, that she was innocent (in this case the stepmother of Snow White).
