B.C. Hollywood is an Irish author specializing in supernatural fiction rooted in authentic Celtic folklore and history. Drawing from Ireland's rich mythological tradition and dark historical legacy, he crafts horror and dark fantasy that spans from 18th-century Hellfire Clubs to contemporary werewolf villages and post-apocalyptic wastelands.
His deep research into Irish folklore, historical records, and cultural authenticity brings genuine Celtic atmosphere to modern supernatural fiction. Whether exploring the shadowy corners of Georgian Ireland or the supernatural threats lurking in today's Irish countryside, Hollywood's work captures the ancient darkness that has always dwelled in Ireland's landscapes and legends.
When not writing, he continues researching Ireland's forgotten histories and unexplored folklore, always seeking the next story that bridges ancient Celtic wisdom with contemporary horror.
Vincent isn’t a good man, but he’d do anything for his daughter Rose… until the night she is taken from him.
“There's been enough blood spilled here.”
What follows is a thrilling, hair-raising, darkly fantastical, adventure through space, time, and against the forces of evil. Supernaturally gifted Siobhan lives a broken existence in the 1800s and doesn’t know her life is about to become entangled with Vincent’s. Together they will fight the sadistic members of the Hellfire Club. Will either of them survive the bloody darkness they encounter? Readers will be desperate to find out what happens to this duo.
“It's remarkable, isn't it?” he mused. “How easily men's souls are bought and sold.”
I was totally sucked into Vincent’s story, feeling his complex grief, and wondering about his hinted shadowy history. I kept feeling there was more to the surface story, that there are mysteries being withheld from the main character and myself as the reader. Siobhan is another narrator in the tale, and you will sympathize with her plight as well. How are these two connected? Who is the shadowy figure that had brought them together? I didn’t expect the complex puzzles, layers, and dynamics within the story. The ending had me at the edge of my seat- and as some answers are revealed I’m pretty sure my jaw dropped open. There HAS to be a second book giving us more!! I need to know what’s really going on here. 🤔😂
“She would have to meet this Vincent Burke face to face, to look into his eyes and see for herself what lies were in them.”
B.C. Hollywood's "Hellfire" takes place in contemporary Ireland, though a significant part of it happens in the Ireland of 1800. The common thread is a kick-ass main character, Vincent Burke, Irish bouncer, whose story bears the right amount of confusion, loss, and complication, to make him the star of Hollywood's new book.
A year after losing his daughter in an accident, Vincent's life slowly derails into a labyrinthine tale of dark magic and time-travel. Spurred by a devil's bargain lost in memory, Vincent also goes through a hugely entertaining romp through 1800 Ireland's Hellfire Club, a notorious group dabbling in the occult, seemingly entirely unrelated to Vincent's story in the present. Vincent is forced to face them in order to save a young witch, Siobhan, who could easily stand for his daughter if he didn't still feel he's betraying his own blood. When Siobhan is taken by the club, Vincent goes John Wick on them, and that was my favorite part of the story!
Told in Hollywood's usual crisp prose, tightly plotted, with engaging characters and good-quality writing, "Hellfire" promises to start a new dark fantasy series in an Irish setting. Indeed, the ending shows that the happenings in the book are just the tip of the iceberg! Many mysteries and revelations are to come, and "Hellfire" is enough to whet anyone's appetite. Recommended.
Supernatural fantasy where the past, present and future hold the darkest secrets.
Vincent lives with guilt. His family lost; his hopes diminished; his rage rising. . He can see only one way out…but something more powerful than he has other plans.
A genre crossing supernatural fantasy rich in remorse and redemption. The world building is fantastic; the MC superbly drawn. I can’t wait for the next book in this series.

Summary: The story starts in modern day Ireland and centers on Vincent Burke, a man with a past that haunts him, especially the loss of his 16-year old daughter, Rose. He commits a careless deed that sends him back in time to 1800, and he suddenly finds himself in the midst of a dark situation. He meets a young witch, Siobhan, who has strong powers that the Hellfire Club (a sinister and magical organization) wants more than anything. All Vincent knows is that he must save Siobhan – even if that means he must confront his own demons in the process.
My Thoughts: This is the first I’ve read from this author (I love that he is from Ireland!), and I really enjoyed his writing style. The action kicked in right from the start and never stopped. I loved Vincent and all his flaws, and I especially enjoyed seeing his fatherly instincts kick in when it came to Siobhan.
My main complaint is that I felt like there wasn’t enough told to the reader about Vincent’s past. There are hints, and I kept expecting details to unfold as the story went along, but they didn’t. I was invested enough into Vincent that I really wanted those details! It also felt like there was a deep connection between Vincent and Siobhan, and I wish that had been flushed out in more detail as well. Basically, I wanted MORE! My hope is that Hollywood is working on a sequel that will delve more deeply into the history of these characters, and explain the connection between them. The ending ended on such a cliffhanger that I think there simply HAS to be a next installment. Fingers crossed, as I definitely will be first in line for it!
If you enjoy dark fantasies, with a little bit of a historical feel (during the 1800 Ireland portions of the book), then I think you’d enjoy this book. Because of the details missing for me, I give this 4 out of 5 stars.
This was a really great dark fantasy! The plot is quick while being very descriptive which is classic B.C. Hollywood. He really has a way of writing that just pulls you into the story.
This is the story of Vincent, whose life is rapidly spiraling out of control until a mysterious stranger catapults him into an adventure he never could have imagined. I really felt for Vincent and understood his feelings and motivations throughout, and even though he makes questionable decisions you can't really fault him for them.
This is dark fantasy, so it is fantastical, but I never questioned it and enjoyed the journey. It even has one of my least favorite tropes but I simply didn't care because I was invested.
I am definitely looking forward to more stories in this universe/series!
I enjoyed this book because it kept me wondering what path it was taking from the beginning—and then wow! While reading it, I found the characters, particularly Vincent, rounded. His struggles, his regrets, and yet there's a softness there. The clashing of time is handled well and I see this as the beginning of a great series. B. C. Hollywood does a fantastic job in writing this supernatural thriller element, it had that redemption element that I was looking for and enjoyed overall. The concept was strongly written and had that noir elements that I was looking for. It had everything that I was looking for and enjoyed the overall feel of this world. It uses the time-travel perfectly and was glad I got to read this.

I have never read anything by this author before, but after reading Hellfire, that is going to change.
Hellfire stars a bouncer at a local bar, Vincent Burke, a character as tough as nails and someone you sure as hell don’t mess with. But inside of him is a man grieving the loss of his daughter Rose, and one can’t help but wonder how a man who single-handedly raised the love of his life, only to lose her at the age of 16 can go on. After a series of events, it seems as if he’s ready to join her, only to find himself thrown back in time to the year 1800, and told by who we assume is the devil himself to “Save the girl.”
What transpires is a wonderful tale of a man thrust back in a time where he doesn’t belong, quickly forming a fatherly type bond with a young woman who faces a life of abuse from her biological father. Full of action, horror and many heartfelt moments, Hellfire makes for a smooth, enjoyable reading experience, with not a single word wasted.

This book plot sounded interesting to me, so I decided to request if I had the chance to read it. I did. I read. And I want more. Though the story starts off a bit slow, with seemingly repetitious recollections of a tragedy that our MC is dealing with the grief of, it finally gets somewhat into gear around the halfway point. Though not listed as part of a series, I think there is a possibility of a maybe a trilogy out of the starting story. I would be somewhat interested in the future plot plans for the MC and supporting character.

A little too dark for my taste, but it has an interesting approach in weaving timelines and in the choice of an open ending. The main character is built on a moral dilemma times 3, the huge divide between his morals and his actions is bridged by his empty justifications, hiding the implied but real lack of free will.
One star is definitely awarded for the description of the modern world through the eyes of a young girl living in the year 1800.

Loved this book, could not put it down. How the author deals with grief, loss and the devastation it causes is so raw and so real, I hugged my own children more tightly. Can’t wait for the next installment.
Haven’t been a fan of time travelling genre. However this book is a definite exception! This is a fun read through the author’s imagination. It is well written. The characters are interesting and entertaining.
