4.5 - "I'm going to woo ya, lass." Over the top Scottish Stars!

Too say that I was surprised by Love Potions would be an understatement. By that I mean just how much I enjoyed it. I know I am pretty much ensured a good read when I pick up an Entangled book, but Love Potions went over and above my expectations.

Her eyes raked over him. The crewneck black cotton shirt he wore moulded to his flesh, leaving no mystery as to the fine shape of his body. The long sleeve bulged at the shoulders; leading

Not only is Love Potions a fabulous PN romance, it is easily one of the funniest books I have read this year. I enjoyed it hugely and with a sexy Scottish warlock, a stubborn likeable lady, a crazy bunch of relatives and magick it brought perfect laugh-your-socks-off humour and I sat here making very unladylike snorts with tears running down my face. Exactly my type of humour.

Love Potions is a magical romance story that had me laughing out loud.

Erik MacGregor is an ancient warlock who moves himself and his immortal warlock clan next door to Lydia Barratt, a lotion making home body.

A few spells gone wrong, an ancient evil enemy and a magic wielding family that loves to play pranks makes Love Potions a marvelously delightful read. If the steamy chemistry doesn't grab you the hysterical antics of the MacGregor clan will have you caught up in their eccentricities. Pill

Another winner!

I was asked to read and review (and wasn’t paid) this honestly and I have to say, if you’re not familiar with Michelle Pillow’s works than this is a great way to introduce yourself to her worlds. I loved this one so much I read it once for the review, and again simply because it’s such a great book!

There is mystery, intrigue, and a little home grown mischief thrown in with a spell binding ride of emotions as the MacGregor family seeks to hide what they truly are, all the while the

I've been a fan of this author since I first discovered her Dragon Lords series and have to admit that Ms Pillow writes seriously sexy stories so was quite keen to see what she would do with something a little more Earth bound! So with delight I chose to read this story about warlocks and magic with the added bonus of men in kilts! Erik and his family are seeking a new home and when they find one Erik discovers that his new neighbour Lydia Barratt is one woman set to drive him to distraction! Ly ...more

Love Potions is the first book in the Warlocks MacGregor series. It follows one of the MacGregor sons, Erik. I think that each of the books will follow a different member of the MacGregor clan, which will be very exciting because it is easy to see from this story how tight knit their family is. It is also so much fun to watch them joke around with each other. The MacGregors are a bunch of pranksters. And throw magic into the mix, and well

I've never been so wrong about a book. Okay, so that came out wrong. I've never been more surprised by a book. I thought Love Potions was going to be a funny, light-hearted, paranormal romance. While it does have it's funny moments, it is so much more.

Love Potions gives you a Scottish Warlock , Erik MacGregor, and his rambunctious family; including his four brothers, sister and a cousin, along with his parents and extended family. I didn’t mention

Love love Michelle Pillow's books, so its no surprise that I loved this one as well. Love Potions was one hilariously fun sweet wild ride. (Yes, all of that and more!)

First and foremost, I loved just about every single (I'll qualify this with GOOD) character in this book, and that's rare. It means good writing when there is such equality between characters that they all fit into the book. They all had their part in the story and it wouldn't have been the same without their antics. Love Potions is a good book. It contained warlocks, witches, and evil in abundance and of course a funny romantic story line.
Wow. This was a very captivating and interesting book! It was hilarious, intriguing and held me captive from the first page. And there wasn't even really steamy scenes in it! That's when you know a book is just plain well written and GOOD. ;) I loved it. Erik was awesome and hilarious. his brothers were too. I genuinely loved every character in this book! Well, aside from the bad guys that is. I loved the take on magick this author portrayed and I can definitely see myself reading the other book ...more

I was totally confused by this book. The first 30% was just so full of sex talk and sex thoughts I thought that was how the whole story was going to be, and I was so bummed about that. I was so wrong! After 30% it became all about the story, and until they had sex late in the book, there were very little thoughts about sex, though there was some, and there was a part where the sex was done by one’s self, if you know what I mean.

I loved Erik and Lydia. They were such a great couple, wi

This book is introducing a new series by Michelle Pillow called the Warlocks MacGregor. I was a little hesitant to buy this book honestly, it had some mixed reviews on amazon, I'm really glad I didn't listen to those reviews!

After a very long time I have read a book which made me laugh so much. I absolutely loved this magick- romance-mischief. It is hilarious not to mention full of sizzling romance between a warlock and his "inthrall". Not that Lydia is aware or the magick around her. Her grandmother had always been called a "witch" but she has never believed in real magick. She knows a thing or two about potions though. Unfortunately, this book didn't do it for me as much I was hoping it would. I was enjoying it in the beginning, but somewhere in the middle all the way to the end I lost interest. Let's get into the details:

For the most part, they're likable.
Lydia is your typical shy, slightly reclusive lead female who you cheer to get the hot sexy guy. She cares deeply for those she loves and has a pure heart. She's not the strongest girl physically or magically, but on her way to becoming str

The story of Erik and Lydia was great entertainment. There was a great mix of romance, passion, drama, and humor which made this 99 cent novel much more than expected.

Lydia just wants to run her small lotion business and pretty much hope the rest of the world leaves her alone.

Erik comes along and pretty much destroys any chance of that happening and in the process turns her whole world upside down and inserts chaos in its place.

While I did really enjoy the story I have to say that Erik was so ar

This was a great fun read. Erik and Lydia were such a fun couple. I loved their immediate connection as well as their banter. It was a refreshing change that the heroine in the story did not immediately give in to the hero. Don't get me wrong I totally saw how Lydia reacted to him at first, but she tried to remain strong and make him fight for her affections.

The overall family dynamic was hilarious. The MacGregors were a strong tight family who had each other's backs. But through that they had

This book was filled with humour and suspense, a good love story that mix hot Highlander/Scottish males, magical powers, paranormal being and funny situation but overall, I wasn't delighted by it.

I love stories with Highlander/Scottish and this title seems to have everything I love in a paranormal romance book, but I didn't get into the book until the third quarts of it.

The thing I did not like seems to be the fact that the characters took any situation lightly without worrying about the consequ

I'm not much of a review writer, but I did want to review this book because it was such a surprise to me. It wasn't quite a five star (because I think she can still do better) but it was a solid 4. I'm not going to synopsize the book because other reviewers have already done that. I also tried tp steer clear of anything that would be a spoiler.

This book was a ton of fun to read! The plot was interesting and moved along at a good pace. The characters were entertaining and the MacGregor family was just downright hilarious! The pranks they played on each other kept me in stitches and I found myself rereading several sections of their immature antics, simply because I enjoy a good laugh. It's rare that I find a book that can actually make me laugh out loud, and watching how the MacGregor siblings interacted with each other (and sabotaged ...more

I received a gift copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Lydia has lived a very quiet and secluded life due in part to the fact that her Grandmother was rumored to be a witch.
