4.5 - "I'm going to woo ya, lass." Over the top Scottish Stars!

Too say that I was surprised by Love Potions would be an understatement. By that I mean just how much I enjoyed it. I know I am pretty much ensured a good read when I pick up an Entangled book, but Love Potions went over and above my expectations.

Her eyes raked over him. The crewneck black cotton shirt he wore moulded to his flesh, leaving no mystery as to the fine shape of his body. The long sleeve bulged at the shoulders; leading

I've been a fan of this author since I first discovered her Dragon Lords series and have to admit that Ms Pillow writes seriously sexy stories so was quite keen to see what she would do with something a little more Earth bound! So with delight I chose to read this story about warlocks and magic with the added bonus of men in kilts! Erik and his family are seeking a new home and when they find one Erik discovers that his new neighbour Lydia Barratt is one woman set to drive him to distraction! Ly ...more

Delightful! I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this book. It has more complexity than I expected and it included everything I did expect. A sexy Scottish warlock, a sweet heroine, lots of evil things, and lots of good things. I especially liked the MacGregor family. The family relationships and humour had me laughing out loud. The writing is excellent, the plot is well planned and the editing is very good. A wonderful read and I recommend it to everyone who enjoys this genre or Michelle M. Pi ...more

Sexy, Scottish, brogue, warlock and oh my. I loved Erik. I loved Lydia. I really enjoyed getting to know the MacGregor clan. This group will make small town life that much more interesting. There was much her to keep me entertained. Ghost, shadows, possessions, warlocks, pranks, tricks, passion and then some.

Funny with a sexy modern day kilt wearing scot who also happens to be a warlock. I'm only complaint was the heroine was a little to stubborn.

I loved Erik and his family! They were a close knit group and so freaking hilarious! Lydia was a sassy introvert, and her poor friend about a run of bad luck!

Warlocks and magic.. gracious that combination was potent! The story was cute. There’s magic, ghosts, love potions gone awry, and the humor! I loved the humor! I really enjoyed the MacGregor family and look forward to seeing who’s up next!

Not only is Love Potions a fabulous PN romance, it is easily one of the funniest books I have read this year. I enjoyed it hugely and with a sexy Scottish warlock, a stubborn likeable lady, a crazy bunch of relatives and magick it brought perfect laugh-your-socks-off humour and I sat here making very unladylike snorts with tears running down my face. Exactly my type of humour.

Lydia Barratt is a bit of a hermit, happiest making her beauty products with her BFF Charlotte and enjoying the quiet lif

Love Potions is a magical romance story that had me laughing out loud.

Erik MacGregor is an ancient warlock who moves himself and his immortal warlock clan next door to Lydia Barratt, a lotion making home body.

A few spells gone wrong, an ancient evil enemy and a magic wielding family that loves to play pranks makes Love Potions a marvelously delightful read. If the steamy chemistry doesn't grab you the hysterical antics of the MacGregor clan will have you caught up in their eccentricities. Pill

FYI: I received this book as part of a Halloween giveaway, along with thirty or so other books. The ONLY reason I'm giving this book one star is because due to a flawed copy, I did not get to finish the book. Each second to last and last page of every chapter was missing...see flawed. I did reach out to the writer and the giveaway team voicing my concern but have yet to hear back from anyone, which is a shame as the pages I did get to read were interesting and funny..naughty too! I really liked Erik (H), Lydia (h) was exhausting to read though. There was too much push-pull and not enough relationship building actually. Most of the time they were arguing and that was just tiring.

Love Potions is I hope the first in a series about the MacGregor clan by Michelle. Pillow. Michelle is one of my favorite authors and this book just solidifies my love for her books even more.

They are now a good size powerful wealthy clan that is needs to relocate. Erik is the oldest brother (one among several hot hunky bro

Love Potions is the first book in the Warlocks MacGregor series. It follows one of the MacGregor sons, Erik. I think that each of the books will follow a different member of the MacGregor clan, which will be very exciting because it is easy to see from this story how tight knit their family is. It is also so much fun to watch them joke around with each other. The MacGregors are a bunch of pranksters. And throw magic into the mix, and well

I've never been so wrong about a book. Okay, so that came out wrong. I've never been more surprised by a book. I thought Love Potions was going to be a funny, light-hearted, paranormal romance. While it does have it's funny moments, it is so much more.

Love Potions gives you a Scottish Warlock , Erik MacGregor, and his rambunctious family; including his four brothers, sister and a cousin, along with his parents and extended family. I didn’t mention

Another winner!

I was asked to read and review (and wasn’t paid) this honestly and I have to say, if you’re not familiar with Michelle Pillow’s works than this is a great way to introduce yourself to her worlds. I loved this one so much I read it once for the review, and again simply because it’s such a great book!

There is mystery, intrigue, and a little home grown mischief thrown in with a spell binding ride of emotions as the MacGregor family seeks to hide what they truly are, all the while the

Lydia and Erik meet and immediately want to jump each other's bones. Then she doesn't want to seem like a slut so she tries to back off. I find it amazing that she didn't actually see anything wrong with the fact that she basically gave a blow job to a complete stranger for no reason. And the whole McGregor clan was just annoying. There is playful family bickering and then there is annoying and immature human beings. This was just not for all.
Wow. This was a very captivating and interesting book! It was hilarious, intriguing and held me captive from the first page. And there wasn't even really steamy scenes in it! That's when you know a book is just plain well written and GOOD. ;) I loved it. Erik was awesome and hilarious. his brothers were too. I genuinely loved every character in this book! Well, aside from the bad guys that is. I loved the take on magick this author portrayed and I can definitely see myself reading the other book ...more

Unfortunately, this book didn't do it for me as much I was hoping it would. I was enjoying it in the beginning, but somewhere in the middle all the way to the end I lost interest. Let's get into the details:

For the most part, they're likable.
Lydia is your typical shy, slightly reclusive lead female who you cheer to get the hot sexy guy. She cares deeply for those she loves and has a pure heart. She's not the strongest girl physically or magically, but on her way to becoming str

Funny and crazy

This is such a hilarious love story and chocked full of wild padlocks (who act like boys), lots of magick going crazy and a family of wall's who like nothing more than playing tricks (that usually go awry) on their siblings. There is a love story in the middle of everything, but this isn't a really steamy romance novel. I really enjoyed it, though, and laughed through most of it. I am going for the second book in the series, but I noticed that the third book came out in 2015 and t

I’m not certain what I expected of this read, but it certainly wasn’t what I got. It was actually a fun read up until about half or three quarters of the way, and then it started to get… well… more unbelievable… if that’s the right way to put it. Once the bigger picture with the creepy characters started building, the story started losing my interest. Not enough to warrant me to put it down, but enough that it soured my mood towards the characters and how they were handling the situations they w ...more

This book was so fun to read. There was a lot of funny scene's where Erik MacGregor's sister mixes up a love potion with Lydia Barrett. Lydia is a witch and she owns the business called Love Potions. The chemistry is great between the two of them. Erik knows right away that Lydia is his true mate but Lydia wants nothing to do with it and really doesn't believe in true mates so it makes for some great action between them and then when you meet the whole MacGregor clan, well chaos erupts. I think so many people saying how funny this series is had me psyched up for something funnier. It is funny, don’t get me wrong. I am not sure if I will read the next one—there’s a pretty good chance I will. Mostly because I like Lydia and she doesn’t put up so much with the MacGregor possessiveness. I liked the MacGregor’s sister, Malina, as well. Talk about someone who’s had to deal with being overprotected... I like that Lydia took care of the final threat on her own.
This was a okay book but it took me too long to get into it, due to the fact that I didn't understand certain words and the story line whilst good didn't grip me as much as I thought it would. It was a good book though and just because it wasn't my cup of tea doesn't mean it won't be others so I wouldn't say don't read it I would say give it a go as you might be pleasantly surprised.

This was much fun! Here you have a sexy, Scottish Warlock who has a tangible connection with the pretty reclusive neighbor who mixes love options. There is Magick, bad demons, lots of townfolk, human stalker, steamy sexual tension, and lots of funny macial antics between the MacGregor family. Very fun read!

I haven't laughed so much while reading a book in a very long time. Erik was hilarious. I love the idea of a whole family of warlocks. I cannot wait to read the rest of the clan.

The only thing that I didn't understand was the shifting thing. What kind of beast? Is he a warlock/wolf? Hopefully in the upcoming books their shifting into a beast will be clarified.

I think the book needed to be about 50% longer so some background could be explained before jumping into situations; sometimes they just appeared out of thin air. That said, I love this author and most of her series so I'm going forward with #2; I really like the premise of this one.
