Doing Magic: A Course in Manifesting an Exceptional Life

Rate this book
Doing Magic is book two of a complete course in becoming creator of your own exceptional life. In these two books, I outline the exact steps which enabled me to move my own life from one of poverty and drudgery, to manifesting one of previously unimaginable wealth, purpose and joy. ‘But Magic? I do hope you are joking!’ That’s what I would have said, five or ten years ago. I once despised all things ‘New-Age’, all these spiritual types and their airy-fairy views, their bad science and their irrational beliefs. I read The Secret and all the great Law of Attraction books - writers like Wallace Wattles, Anthony Robbins, Rhonda Byrne, Napoleon Hill, Esther Hicks and Wayne Dyer. But no matter how many books I read, or how closely I followed their instructions for manifesting love, money, happiness or abundance, I couldn’t make it work. It was only when I recognized, accepted and finally embraced that what I was doing was actually some kind of Magic that suddenly things began to fall into place. Once I realized that the power came from within me, it was as if the light had suddenly been switched on and my manifestations began to work. I learned how to manifest money and love, but I also learned how to be happy, truly happy. If you’re jaded by spirituality and the whole New Age Law of Attraction idea, or have become bored by its failure to deliver… this book is for you. It is my intention to lead you by the hand through a marvelous journey of wonder and adventure. Part one of this course, Becoming Magic, laid the groundwork for becoming a magical person, while this second book, Doing Magic, offers concrete techniques and instructions for attracting wonderful things into your life. The plan is to build your knowledge slowly, gradually, building on what has gone before, moving on to more complex manifestation techniques only once the basics are mastered. So many people fail with manifestation and the Law of Attraction because they rush headlong into using techniques, trying to create enormous manifestations, making very simple but crucial mistakes. When they are disappointed, they imagine they have been duped. The sceptics are right. This is all a load of scammy nonsense. And they give up, declaring it just doesn’t work. I am telling you that it does work. And you can make it work. And these books will show you how. My intention is that this book will allow you to become a true creator of your own exceptional life, reawakening and rekindling your belief and interest in Spirituality, The Law of Attraction, Reality Creation, Cosmic Ordering or whatever you wish to call it. I prefer simply to call it Magic.

When I was a child, I could do Magic. I felt powerful, confident, immortal, with an underlying sense of goodness, positivity and an innate power to affect everything around me. At some point, and for the next 30 years, I forgot all about Magic. I forgot how to do it.

And my life became dull, poor and ordinary.

Now, having rekindled the fire of Magic once again, I have successfully used it to turn my entire life around in an almost miraculous fashion. In my books, I show you how to do the same.

I'm British, down to earth, straightforward and not at all your usual paragon of spiritual loveliness. I drink too much coffee, eat too much of everything and laugh at rude jokes.

I also love animals as much as people, even the rats...

These little "magic" workbooks are different than the other "law of attraction" books I have read. I feel like these ones actually come closer to the truth than the others. To me, these are more resonant with the scriptural version of "ask and ye shall receive." While I believe in the scriptures and in that unequivocal promise, I also believe that promise is dependent on your desires being in line with what is right and also dependent on God's will and timing. I love how this book states that to receive, you must, ironically, let go of when, how, or even if it will happen. I have found this to be true in my own life. And I have found that the times I have let go were the very times I did, indeed, get what I wanted. But usually never in the way I expected.

Again, some good basic info in here. It seems like in the end this book was less about getting what you want and more about being happy with what you already have. It's all about the emotional vibes we give out. Rather than now wanting to test the theories out, I'm more inclined to just doing nothing as I'm starting to realise I'm already pretty happy with my life. Job done. That's not because of this book as I didn't do any of the exercises suggested, it's just that I don't have a lot of the problems with this process (life) than people she described!

This is the second book in the series and is THE best book on the Law of Attraction principles I have read. If I was you I would buy the audio versions as the narrator is brilliant.

You will also be better reading book 1 first.

Some great ideas and inspirations here, love the thought of going into a cafe to right out my desires and love that this book is quite short and sweet so i can read again a week later. Only reason it became a 4 star instead of 5 is that at times i felt a little bit patronized about my life compared to what she has now instead of inspired to have the life she has now - if that makes sense - but i still thoroughly recommend this book and having already covered the first one i intend to go through to the third of the series which is already loaded in my Kindle!

Glad I chose this book

I searched through the self-help books for days and was drawn to the Magic series. The short length and simple guidance have helped me and anyone who is willing can improve their outlook by using this book as a guide.

Simple and stellar. Loved it. Will refer again and again. Would have loved direct case studies of "I wanted x. I did y. Felt z. And got x in ABC time." The previous book is necessary and great for this one to make sense.

The Next Step

This book clearly sets out the next steps for me to take. Acceptance is such an important aspect when it comes to manifesting your dreams. Gratitude is significant too. I love the clarity of this book.

Your World Mirrors Who You Are Inside.

I encourage you to read this insightful book. The author has advised to read book one before this second one in the course. I've read both and have appreciated the simplified terminology for what many use to call "Law of Attraction". I never liked that phrase and now I know why. You'll have to read it and find out for yourself. Your personal world mirrors who you are inside. Smile first, and "then" your world can reflect the same back in return. I'm glad this book was written. It was worth buying.

I suspect most people will categorize this with UFO books they also aren't likely to read, but I gave it a chance since I'm exploring the subject, and have an open mind. On a personal level, I'm intrigued by the ideas presented. On the other hand, this is research for a fictional character in my next novel. I do believe this works. Ignore the word "magic". The concept here is similar to The Secret and Law of Attraction, but from a different point of view. I like it. I'm doing it. It obviously works, more or less, for everyone, but people tend to dismiss coincidences in life. So for several reasons I found this short book interesting.

Perhaps 2 and a half. Read it earlier, this time it didn't amuse me as much..The second part of the plan, the receiving part, lacked more explaining..Left with a more 'magic is rather a mystery '. And that's it.

This book is a good read and right along with the law of attraction. I think if more people would look at their lives, they would be able to see more of their own power of creation.

Some good points building on the concept of the Law of Attraction, but nothing revolutionary
