October 2018:

Oh my gosh! You guys! I still totally LOVE this book! It's SO good! And now is the perfect time to read it! Who doesn't love a spooky ghost story in the month of October?!

October 2017:

From the moment that Zoe Grayson laid eyes on Lancaster House she fell in love and just had to have it! While most people saw an old, run down house that is quite possibly haunted, Zoe saw a gorgeous Victorian that is in need of some major TLC. Lancaster House isn't some ordinary old Victorian home.

Zoe Grayson loves decorating and old houses, so when she saw Lancaster House for sale and once she viewed inside she fell head over heels for the house. She could see it had so much potential. Over the next few months though, strange things kept happening around the house. It was almost like she had one of the elves from the story the Shoemaker's elves as all her jobs seemed to be finished. One night, she decided to stay up and got a fright. There was a man in her house. One thing leads to anoth ...more

Zoe was in Serenity Hills because she had tried to kill herself. She was also accused of killing two men. Dr. Channing had taken over her care and was weaning her from the heavy medications she had been on since her admittance. When he told her there was no such thing as ghosts, she told him they had nothing to talk about. He asked her to tell him about Lancaster House. He didn't think she would answer, but she slowly began to tell him how she fell in love with the house and why she was so despe ...more

A Ghostly Romance

The perfect Halloween book to read. Not scary but just this side of "normal". Paranormal! Although this isn't my favorite Taylor Dean book, it was still great and I was engaged beginning to end. Now I MUST read the next book!!

(4.5 stars) A paranormal romance sounded like a perfect Halloween read! An old house with lots of secrets that is supposedly haunted, psychiatric hospital, mysterious man, mystery and clean romance. It all sounded like a great recipe to me!

We start with Doctor Channing, a psychiatrist in a psychiatric hospital, meeting with his patient, Zoe Grayson. She's believed to be schizophrenic and suffering from hallucinations and very dangerous. She's also believed to have killed two men and is suicidal

I don't usually read what pop culture refers to as "chick lit." I've never, for example, read a Nicholas Sparks book. But I'm still a sucker for romance, especially paranormal romance. The problem is that there is so much paranormal fiction hitting the shelves these days, it is really difficult to find one that is well-written. Even more difficult to find a story that is relatively clean.

I must admit, I was pleasantly surprised to find such a well-written, fun paranormal romance in the indie-pub

To find out why Joy tried to kill herself, why she is under the care of Dr. Channing at Serenity HIlls, and why she is suspected of killing two men, we have to go back to the beginning.

When Joy first laid eyes on Lancaster House, she knew she had to have it.

She couldn’t wait to get started on the restoration. Couldn’t wait to bring the old house back to its former glory.

The work was slow but rewarding. She was doing one room at a time. She would go to bed exhausted and rise to start again the

Zoe Grayson has just purchased her dream house. A 1920's Victorian Mansion that she is going to slowly fix up and restore. She loves the old house with all of its secret passages and history. People think it is strange for her to live alone in such a big house but she has never been happier. With a hefty inheritance , Zoe can work on the house at her leisure and not have to worry about income. Then strange things start to happen. Is Zoe imagining things or is some unseen force behind it? For me one of the most important parts of a book is the setting. While character development is vitally important and an interesting plot is essential, if I can't visualize the setting I have a hard time reading the book. That wasn't a problem here, Dean does a fabulous job creating a very vivid setting. In fact, she did such a great job that I wanted to actually leap into the book and visit the place, old and damaged or not. I loved the idea of secret hiding places and staircases that go nowher ...more

Wow! Another really clean romance from Taylor Dean! If you're looking for a paranormal romance that isn't smutty and gives you a warm fuzzy feeling inside, Lancaster House is the book for you. I was surprised at the direction that it took in the paranormal sense as I thought it was just going to be a ghost story. But there's much more to it than that! I found myself wondering if maybe the main character, Zoe, really was imagining things, but really hoping that Andre was real. I look forward to r ...more

Want a book you can't put down? Try this (or any other Taylor Dean book)! I was a bit skeptical of this book from the description, I typically don't enjoy paranormal stories, but this is a fantastic exception. I would recommend this book to mature readers as some of the themes, mental illness, affairs, and intimacy (discussed generally, no explicit details given). I would rate it PG-13 for these mature themes. I enjoyed this story, especially the romance between the two protagonists, and

This book sucked me in from the very first chapter. Once I got started I literally put it down one time to make dinner for my family. As soon as dinner was over I was back reading! I probably read it in 3 hours, maybe a little more.

I have never read a book quite like this one. I can't begin to describe to you how good it was. When Taylor contacted me and asked if I would be interested in reading and reviewing it here on my blo

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

I have to start by saying that this was the 3rd Taylor Dean book that I have read so far, my genres are usually, Paranormal, Horror, Fantasy and Sci-fi so Taylor Dean must have something special about her writing to lure me out of my comfort zone. That special thing is suspense and the true grit of her protagonists against all odds. I thought that Lancaster House would be a good opportunity to see if Ms Dean could carry her style through to a

Lancaster house appeared to be a paranormal that included elements of romance, or at least that is what you would discern from the cover, the blurb “are you ever really alone” and the summary. However, once you get into the book that notion is quickly dispelled. This is a paranormal romance, and a good one, I only wish that it would be a bit more forthright with that knowledge. Maybe Dean didn’t feel that the book would do as well in that niche, maybe it wasn’t even intended on being so romance- ...more

The first thing about this book is that it needs a new cover. The cover as it stands now (with the hand) simply doesn’t do this book justice.

Now, on to the content of the book.

Zoe is a 25 year old who has had a rough few months. I felt her pain, and can’t image two major life-altering events such as the ones she went through at that age. She’s an interior designer that has come into some money, and when she finds the Lancaster House with its oddities and the need for some TL

I was given this book by the Author for my honest review.

I have to say WOW!!! This book was different from Taylor Dean's other books but it was still fantastic. I was not expecting this book to be about what it was and was pleasantly surprised. I don't usually like the paranormal books and this was a paranormal romance that I loved. It was wonderful. I bought Lancaster House on a whim, thinking that the synopsis sounded cool and the cover was nifty. I can usually get into haunted house stories and am rather fond of trying author I've never heard of, so I figured I would give this one a shot. Taylor Dean did not disappoint!

I'm typically not a fan of paranormal romance, which is ultimately what this turned out to be -- but this one is far better than most I've read. The book is framed by a mental health setting. A woman is being held at a psyc

Wow. I was blown away by Taylor Dean's book "Lancaster House." The prologue grabbed me, and I immediately knew it was going to be hard for me to close my Kindle and stop reading. From the storyline to the writing, I liked it all and wasn't disappointed.

Taylor created the main character, Zoe, as being someone I could relate to. Although I didn't find myself feeling sorry for Zoe because of her strong nature, I could relate to her intense f

Crazy...or not? This is the question you will ask yourself when you finish this awesome book. The main character, Zoe Grayson, is in a mental hospital after trying to kill herself. The petite, beautiful, seemingly sweet young woman is considered unstable and dangerous, as there are two dead men associated with her. As the story starts out with Doctor Channing doing therapy with her, he is leery and very careful with her. As weeks and months go by, Zoe begins to trust the doctor and tell him her ...more

Can I just say WOW!

I was totally enamored of Taylor's Sierra, when I read it awhile back, but Lancaster House is even better.

Taylor weaves a story that will have you sitting on the edge of your seat.

Zoe is an interior decorator who wants to restore Lancaster House and resell it, but once she starts working on it, strange things start to happen. Strange things that make her question her sanity, and then she meets Andre.

Andre is a new twist on a paranormal creature, part vampire and part ghost. Th

After my New Years book binge, I had to unfortunately return to work (sob) and was slowly trucking through books. As I'm scrolling through my queue on my Kindle, I remembered that I had two more Taylor Dean novels that I had not yet devoured.

I ALMOST judged this book by the synopsis, I admit. I'm not a big paranormal romance person... I've passed up many Kindle books for this reason alone. But based on the amazing T. Dean experience I had thus had, I delved in deep.

Lancaster House is amazingly written and such an original story. I was Zoe and Andre's number one fan from the beginning, they are an amazing couple, and Taylor easily conveys their love in this story.

Taylor made Zoe so likeable and so easy to sympathize with. You just want to tell off all the people who are so adamant about calling her crazy. Of course she's not crazy you want to scream at them! (Or at least I did, but I get really involved in novels if you haven't been able to tell) : )
