I really wanted to try to stick this one out, but eh... never mind. Goodreads lists this book at 676 pages, and I made it almost halfway through. At 300 pages, give or take, I'm still not liking any of the characters or their decisions, and I don't even care about the plot. I think I'm more than justified in stopping.

My thoughts on the characters:

Matt: Cheating asshole. Even when he was "nice" I hated him. I don't care how you justify cheating on your wife, it doesn't work for me.

Ok, I’m not totally sure how to review this story without spoiling, but here goes.

Firstly, I honestly recommend you go in blind. I bought it the day it came out with only the blurb to go on and I’m so glad I did. I hate spoilers in general, but in this book, I feel like they would’ve been especially detrimental to the reading experience.

This story was not what I expected at all. I really enjoyed it. I read this author’s other book, and this one was so much different (there were similarities as

Julie is somewhat likable but you will find yourself saying, "what the h*ll is wrong with you? and what were you thinking?" OMG Jack and Matt!! A$$hats, both of them. Aaron, eventually you understand and warm up to. The storyline is good and it does have a HEA. But I am stilling feeling like WHOA.....give me a minute. I will be think

I started reading this story thinking I knew exactly how this story was going to turn out. Well, I was wrong. Poor Julie is a lost college girl that becomes the nanny for a married couple and begins a doomed relationship with the husband and yes, you guess it, with an unexpected result that changes everything for everyone involved. This is not just a story of bad decisions and unhealthy relationships. This is a story about second chances. About how something that seems so life changing and dark ...more

If this book could have started at 60% I would probably given it a full 4 stars. Unfortunately, I had to deal with Julie's 19 year old whoring ass meeting Mr. Right, getting dumped by Mr. Right, using and being used by Jack, while she is sleeping with Married Matt, meanwhile falling for his moody brother Aaron. And I'm supposed to believe this angelic 19 year old has only slept with 2 people? Hahhahahah!

Come on Jerry Springer, Maury is calling you over for coffee! No friggin way! This was traile

Beautiful Mistakes is one of the books that I had a hard time putting down. It grabbed a hold of me and kept me reading until the early hours of the morning. I'm sure the subject matter will be a little touchy for some but if you get past it, it really is a really great read. It's a beautiful story of dumb mistakes that young people often make and how one woman rose above her mistakes to make a great life for herself.
There is so much that happens in this book with all the characters and the auth

Love! Review up soon
Holy heck people! This book is one seriously amazing emotional rollercoaster. I don’t know what’s not to love about it. First off, let me start by telling you guys how much I adore Sam Mariano. I read and reviewed her first novel, Because of You and I fell in love with it. She is an amazing storyteller and just a pretty cool person in general. So of course, I jumped at the chance to review Beautiful Mistakes, without even knowing what it was about. I was pretty much sold o

Beautiful and heart gripping.

When I got this book as an ARC for an honest review, I looked it up on Amazon and read the blurb. I thought I knew what it was going to be about and man was I in for a surprise! This one hit close to home, and brought tears to my eyes several times. It also made me laugh and offended for some of the things that happened, as well as cheering on Julie and Arron at different times. It’s so well written that it just makes you extremely reluctant to put it down, reading e

My first book to read by Sam and it won't be my last! Seriously, Julie's beautiful story, even though it had A LOT of drama, was incredible! I loved her, and I loved Aaron too. He may have been my favorite part ;)

Beautiful Mistakes is a heart warming tale with great characters, and a strong storyline that you will NOT be able to put down! Great story!!

What a great story.

Thought I knew where it was headed (I didn't) but so much happier with how it turned out. I liked Julie, didn't love her but I did really like her. LOVE the hero! :) Loved the ending so much. So adorable.

I am curious to know more about Emma... :)I liked her for some reason that I really can't put my finger on.

Great read! Loved it all!

You can definitely tell this is an earlier book. It has a fair few similarities with other Mariano books, especially The Imperfections, but it is much rougher. Honestly, the biggest fault for me was never really feeling like Aaron was that into Julie. The sex scene with Jack was kind of more hot than any of the minimal sex scenes with Aaron. The book also doesn’t really explain why his family are the worst and why he is such a ‘gentleman’, but only in annoying ways. The bit at the end also made ...more

Life is Messy and so is Love!

This subject matter for romance readers is one of the most controversial. CHEATING. Some readers can tolerate it and for others it’s a hard NO. The reality is life is messy and so is love and the author gives you 600+ pages to see the ups and downs good and bad and most importantly the consequences of making mistakes. I love that the love story in this book is slow and carefully written. Although the subject matter may be taboo for some give it a chance. Sometime an

Love is very complicated, that's the way Julie sees it anyway. She has had a rash of bad luck when it comes to men. Then Aaron steps up and changes everything. I liked the characters and the way the story was told. The fact that Julie stepped up took responsibility of her part made me admire her. Matt is a tool and honestly I didn't feel sorry for him at all. As an adult we all make decisions and even mistakes can be rectified. However, he messed up with making those mistakes continua

Just as the title says

Everyone makes mistakes. Some good some bad. It’s how you choose to deal with them and learn from them. Julie’s life seems to be one bad mistake after another until she meets him. But just her luck he’s unavailable.
This book had me flipping pages to see what would happen next in Julie’s life. Would she continue down that bad luck rabbit hole or would she finally find her way out? This story has drama, angst and all the feels!

I won't lie. When I first started reading this, I found the story to be quite bland. Everything was smooth sailing (as far as I knew) and it was just your typical forbidden relationship type story....

But that's where I was wrong. Mariano just switches up the story entirely and you're suddenly shipping a completely new team.

Aaaaaand - that's all I'm willing to share. You're going to have to read the story if you want to know what happens ;)

Unfortunately this book couldn't really draw me in. The story was told in a rather distant way and apart from gritting my teeth and being annoyed by some of the choices made by the characters, I couldn't really feel with them. The story felt rather constructed and didn't flow naturally and convincing. I rounded it up to three stars though 2.5 would be more like it. ...more

Difficult to read

I love this author but this story was so convoluted & slow I wanted to pluck my eyelash Extension out just when I thought it was going to pick up it didn’t. It was painstaking, at 85% it picked up by that time I was too invested in it to stop reading. I loved the main characters I just wished it had the oomph her other stories had. 😔

LOVE this author. This book must be one of her first ones as it is quite 'mild' compare to the newest books she has written. However this was a good book to read. If you want more excitement read the Morelli Series. Start with Accidental Witness there is 7 books in all. Again this author is the best I've read in a very long time. ...more
One of the strangest books I’ve ever read. For most of it, I had no idea where it was going. I didn’t figure out who the love interest was until 70% in. I did finish it but it took forever because I didn’t care about any of the characters. They were pretty much all unlikeable. This author is still one of my favorites though so I rounded up to 3 stars.

ADORE that somehow Aaron was able to get his wife pregnant! Love conquers all!!

A bit iffy on dialogue and facts, but the storyline more than makes up for the wobbles. Great feel-good read.😁😉😎👏👏

I've read many of Sam Mariano's books and this one is very different. It feels like an earlier one and in some ways biographical. While found it to have too long with tending to be too detailish but an endearing story. Sam got a heck of a lot better.

An amazing read about a young girl who seems to have more mistakes under her belt than she does good deeds. A girl who is about to learn that some things are harder to come back from but along the way she finds true love. Someone who will stick with her no matter the things she’s done in the past.

Always a winner

This was it. My final unread novel by Sam Mariano. And now a darkness has descended upon me. I have no more Sam Mariano books to look forward to until she releases a new one. I can scarcely find the will to live. Each new day is but a new drudgery.
That said, I have never NOT loved a Mariano novel. This one was not my favorite of hers, and the third-person writing leads me to believe it might be an earlier work, but it is still heads and tails above a lot of what I read. This autho

This a story about a young woman who makes some poor choices but learns from them. The subject matter involved may not be for everyone but I found it to be realistic. Some might say "I would never" but that is untrue. Anyone given the right circumstances can get caught up in something they would not normally participate in. In every day Life these things happen so if you enjoy a realistic read I would recommend this one. Extremely well written. ...more
