Julie Hayward was not a believer in the paranormal. Newly engaged with a photography career just starting to take off, her life is almost comfortable. The only thing she lacks is enough money to repair the family home. But, when her best friend, Gustavia, drags her to a visit with a psychic thinking it will be a f

I picked this up as a freebie on Amazon. I'm really not sure how I feel about it. One one hand, it was a good mystery; Julie and her pals try to figure out where her great-grandfather hid his valuables, aided by the ghosts of her great-grandfather and grandmother, who couldn't tell them specifically where to look for some reason. But hey, hard to make a plot span a whole book if on page 2, great-grandfather ghostie says "it's under the floorboards" or something (it wasn't, btw). On top of the tr ...more

"Come in."

Julie Hayward's friend, Gustavia, thinks that a visit to a psychic is a great engagement gift. Julie strongly feels otherwise until the psychic channels her late grandmother and great grandfather. Kat, the psychic, has been blind since she gained the ability to see spirits. However she can see clearly when manifesting Julie's grandmother. Add in Amethyst, an aura reader and you have the basis of the paranormal aspect of the book. Julie's fiancé, Logan, scoffs at all the otherworldly wo

A rather enjoyable book. I liked all the characters and it was nice to have a mystery that didn't involve a dead body...just ghosts. ;) There were many LOL moments. :D My only complaint, which dropped my rating down to 4 stars, was the jumping from one character POV to another without any warning, including in the same paragraph. It made it a little hard to follow at times. But, I liked the characters so much that it didn't deter me from finishing. I would like to read the others in this series ...more

I cannot stand the writing style. It's boring and flat.

Also... yeah I am not in to how you described a blind person.

The story has potential. I really like the characters and it has possibilities. But it isn't a cozy or a mystery. More paranormal romantic suspense. But to have a chance of living up to its potential, the book needs a lot of work with the help of a competent editor. The writing is sloppy. The POV is so unstable I almost gave up several times early on. The bad guy POV gives some details away. And it ends on a hook. So hire a real quality editor, do the work, and polish this and rest of series. Gi ...more

The head hopping in this novel left me reeling. It was probably a story I could have gotten into, only the poor writing led it totally astray.

There are THREE different covers now for this story. I do wish publishers or authors, or whoever thinks this is a good decision wouldn't do it !! I just don't see the need myself.
This story wasn't for me. I don't mind a little of the paranormal here and there but I can't get on with outright fantasy-based stories and this one tips over the edge into the latter genre for me. I got as far as 15% and called it a day.
Amazon has it listed as 500+ pages which is more than double what it is at 202 page

What a fun ebook!!!

Really needs more editing!!! But I thoroughly enjoyed the story. Julie has inherited the family estate which includes a dilapidated old house in need of expensive repairs. Having little income, Julie can't afford the repairs. She is engaged to Logan who is not who he has told her. When Logan tries to swindle her, Julie breaks off the engagement, making Logan very angry!! He swears revenge. Julie has friends who are in touch with the spirit world and can see, hear, learn things

I will give this series a solid 4.5 stars. I loved the couples and their shared friendships/family. I loved reading about the psychic gifts that they all had and how they all grew with the support and love of each other and their own growth and bravery.
One problem I had was after Gustavia and Finn got together, the child disappeared until the end of the last book, despite the couple still being involved all the time...
Grammar mistakes started happening with more frequency...
Still, magical:)

Totally a disappointment in terms of story development, and a ripoff to get you to buy more of this author's work. Started with interesting premise, but apparently the writer lost interest fairly early on. Heroine is shallow character and other characters (with one exception, Gustavia) are equally shallow and poorly developed. The love interest is childishly explored with a marriage proposal as unappealing and boring as anything you might imagine. With so many good books available, I am sorry I ...more

This book reminded me of whipped cream. Light & fluffy, delicious to gobble down. But, it's not filling and after a while you find yourself wanting/needing something with a bit more substance.

This book was such an easy read. The words flowed across the page. And the plot was interesting. But, I wanted more depth to the characters themselves. I didn't have any emotional response to them at all. So while this was an enjoyable read, I can't say I loved it.

Another free book I decided to give a try. Hey, I like mysteries and paranormal story lines so I thought there was a high chance I'd like this one. Unfortunately I did not. I felt the author spent more time describing tarot cards and how they work than actually developing her characters or dialogue.

Sorry - this is not my cup of tea. Ghosts guiding living people and taking over the minds and bodies of willing ones is too far beyond the realm of possibility and my scope of interest. I think the author might do better to concentrate on other kinds of fiction because the writing itself is not bad, just the subject matter.

Interesting cast of characters. I look forward to reading the other books. This series introduces a character in another series WHICH then introduces characters in a 3rd series. I had started the 3rd series first when I realized their were "prequels". Anyway, this is a light-hearted read; though longer, it was a fast read for me! I am usually reading 2 books at any given time.

Ok

This is a well written story at the beginning, but seems to sag throughout the middle. I'm expecting so much more for what the story is leading up to then what it actually does.

Cute fast read

Loved it it was well written I love how the characters are growing. It wasn't a long dragged out story line that had tons of twist and turns. It did have a lot of funny parts and a few sad. I can see story lines for the other ladies coming in the future.

I have been reading paranormal books for a while. Although this did have ghosts, tarot cards etc. this didn't feel that way. It was more a mystery/treasure hunt. I really enjoyed it.

“At the touch of their hands, a warm feeling of love and acceptance washed over Julie. She was pretty sure Eloise felt something as well because her eyes widened. Then Eloise smiled and enveloped Julie in a hug, which Julie returned, and the two began to laugh. That was the moment they knew they were soul sisters and neither would ever be alone again.” 0 likes
