always an easy listen , not a great series but im invested lol

This one opens with some stunning news for Ella and it really throws her for most of the book. While Ella is still off, she gets news her boss is finally done and on his way out. He gives her an amazing gift, but she's unsure if she'll use it. Things seem to be leading towards no, right until the end, when Ella realizes someone is still fucking with her.
The crimes that Ella and Mia work on are a bit crazy! It doesn't seem possible, but once we know who the bad guy is, why and how he did it, you just kinda shake your head. I'm glad that he was taken down and justice was given to the victims.
I'm really surprised by Mia's last chat with the boss. It seems both out of character and not. It will be interesting to see what happens, especially with Mia knowing Ella's gift.

DNF. it was a hard read.
Also, the snarky "if you're reading this book for free, go fuck yourself, give me my money" blurb in the opening credits of this novel gives... entitled and narcissistic. An author being against gifting books and libraries? Icky.
