Matthew Steele is over it already. His last year of high school behind him and college looming ahead, the young heartthrob should be enjoying his last summer of freedom. Instead he's nursing a broken heart from the deception of the girl he thought he knew, until she started a campaign of destruction against his younger brother Josh and his new love. Now his brother is happy with his new bride, but Matt finds himself as a loss.
Everything he'd planned for his future has gone up in smoke. He's mad as hell at the world and he damn sure wasn't looking for romance, as far as he was concerned women were off the market.
Then she walked in and once again his plans are knocked off kilter; but this time he has his head on straight. He has no intentions on losing his heart to anyone ever again, no matter how much she makes him want.

Kadyn Daniels has come home to Sea Crest after years away. The young beauty is running from a horror no young girl should ever have to endure but she finds shelter in the little town where she's helping her old man run the town's only local diner. Still wary and looking over her shoulder, she's in no way ready for the way her traitorous heart reacts to the elusive Matthew Steele. With her dreams of happily ever after shattered, could she risk opening herself up to more heartache?

I have to say, I like this one more than the first book.

It's about Matt and Kadyn, both 18.

Matt had a girlfriend in book 1 but because of all the things the girl did to his brother and new sister-in-law, their relationship ended. He felt responsible for everything that happened to his family. They were together for 3-4 years and he thought he was in love with her but it's more of the idea of having a future with someone and at the time, she's there and available. He had his future mapped out and he's the settling down type. He stayed with her just because he's playing it safe.

It's been weeks since the incident in book 1 happened and he didn't know where to start. So when he and his family went to the local diner and met Kadyn for the first time, he was an ass to her.

Kadyn's the daughter of the diner's owner. She had a past she's running from

Matt did everything to give her the best life he could give and to protect her and make her feel safe.

It's so good to see and know their family being solid, supporting and helping each other. And the epilogue is longer and funny. I loved it!

Matthew Steele is disgusted with not only himself but his ex who created havoc on his family. Matthew is feeling like he is spiraling not seeing who she really was and definitely has no interest in another relationship, ever. He did not expect Kayden Daniels and he is furious about his reaction to her.

Kayden doesn't want to get involved with anyone for a completely different reason. She doesn't understand Matthew's behavior to her and when Matthew decides he is no longer going to run from his feelings for her, Kayden feels lost. She is in danger and if she gets close to anyone they too will be in danger. Matthew though vows to protect her, but Kayden is weary about trusting anyone to help when all of her past efforts have been fruitless. Can she trust in Matthew and believe in a happily ever after?

Wanted to like but I felt Matthew was way to intense for 19 years. He gets all over Kayden a couple of times and although it gets sorted and he explains himself, I just had a hard time liking him. Interesting story, liked the overall concept the ending was very fun.

This was a much better book than the first one in my opinion. Less vulgar and more content however the action was flat after the last book. The drama was little and I must say their perfect life kind of pissed me off.
These treasured teens of their parents (both Heroes of these books in this series) don't really have a clue what it's really like to feel terrified for 4 years of their lives.
In this book the hero came into the situation with this idea he was going to solve all her problems. Until recently, he never had to deal with real issues. Money and power are his get out of jail free card.
Now, I am all for the happy ever after but the epilogue, while cute, was flat to me.
Yes they waited and had babies after college was over and they settled into a steady life. That's not real given they were not using birth control.
In real life you and your brother both don't have babies a day apart after they decide they are ready and then get pregnant on order 3 years later.
Really that's awesome but it sound too perfect. I don't like that.
The writer just made it too neat here it was just blah! It was a good read and I enjoyed it way way more than the first but the end was way too perfect for my taste!
However, I should have expected it seeing how they have been living the perfect life with their parents before the messy heroines came into their lives.
I guess it's just like they control everything, again. It's an alpha thing.
3.5 stars but up to a 4 cause it had a better editor. Without all the swearing this was almost a great read.

2.5 - for a Jordan Silver book, this was BORING. It had good moments but was entirely too long and was missing the OTT ridiculous characterization. Meh.

I really liked book 1 PASSION which focused on Josh and Carrie, but the story between Matthew and Jayden was weak.

Matthew kept repeating himself about his mistake with Patti. He was literally an idiot for three years with Patti. No one liked her, not even his parents, but the idiot loved her and wanted to marry her.
Matthew dated Patti for three years. When his younger brother, Josh, started dating Carrie, Patti got jealous since Carrie was "taking" over and planned for Carrie to get kidnapped by a rapist except she did not know he was a rapist/murder and her plan went out of control. Carrie was drugged and well you have to read book 1 to see how it all unfolded.

Anyway, the first couple of chapters is Matthew dwelling on his mistake and then he meets Kayden and he is in love. I did not get the insta-love between these two. She was medicare. She had a tattoo and a couple of piercings, someone Matthew would never be interested in and all of the sudden he was in love. I do not mind insta-love stories, but I have to understand what it is about the heroine that the hero falls in love with.

This story was getting boring and predictable and just a bunch of blah.

on the positive note - there is less swearing in this book than book 1.

Liked the book, I must say I liked our main chickie more than the one from the first book in the series. This can be read as a standalone that said.
I liked the length when I enjoy someones writing I like it to last so this was a big plus for me.
Found our alpha male for Jordans writing to be tame haha, that said for the average writer it would be considered an extreme alpha male.
Found it a little lack luster in places like she edited or questioned if she was making the male character too similar to the first book so held herself back.
All in all I reckon a heap of people would love this, hard core Silver fans will cause hey they love her, but some of those fans may feel a little let down cause yeah our dude isn't mental alpha man :D
Looked forward to this for weeks, fb fan kept checking to see release date and hey loved it

I read the first Passion book and was curious to see what would happen to the brother. Story was ok. The H and his brother constantly referred to each other as "bro" and it was awful. I don't thing Ms. Silver has a clue about how teenagers talk to each other. In classic Jordan Silver style when the H believes the h as not followed his instructions, he blows a gasket and turns into a total psycho. I absolutely hate that and it's one of the main reasons I do not read more books by this author.

i like this series because it mixes two things i like about the author

1. she's very good at writing males so they have a believable maleness .. to them.
2. sex sex sex.. is one of the things this author is great at.. wall to wall of it

problems in this book. it loops back into the last book a little to much. so that it isnt standing on it's own as much as it should. it gets distracting

things the author is doing better at. is adding plot..

Almost as good as the first

I have enjoye reading about those Steel boys and their women. Full of alpha men, the women they love and the problems they encountered during their courtship. These stories are some of the best of Me. Silver's books. If you enjoy her books and haven't read Passion and this one don't hesitate, you will be glad you gave them a chance. I have reread them more than once.

Great read. Kayden's character was sweet and I liked that her confidence grew through the story. Matthew is another over the top alpha male and just what she needed. Fab epilogue.

This was nowhere near as good as the first Passion book. It felt forced and i couldnt really connect with the characters. I also wasnt too keen on the ending as if felt like a cop out

I liked this story because I felt so much sympathy for both characters. They both had been through so much in their short lives it was sad. But I did feel like the author didn’t fully explain the MMC’s resolution as it should have been. This story ended with him just saying f#€k it to his history and just being with the FMC. Normally I’m fine with that but so much of his angst hindered on his past relationship that it just left me unsatisfied.

Having said that, again a lot of this story was told to you but it was definitely more fleshed out then the first was. So I absolutely liked it and since I originally was interested in this book out of the series I’m glad I was right as it was the better book to read. Unfortunately, I personally don’t feel it’s a standalone. I feel you have to read part one first but that’s depends on the kind of reader you are.

Good luck.

Steele Brother #2

Matts adrift in anger after his break up with Pattie. Newcomer Kadyn brings out his inner caveman n so the Steele 'curse' begins. Kadyns running from a dark past but the Steeles take care of their family. It was nice to read the slow build of their relationship n the de-shelling of Kadyn. There was OM drama with Dan who turned into a DV perp. And the biggest danger Kadyn's pedo stalker who was more into child porn than anyone thought (!TW!). The HEA was cute. LOL!! Their lil ones are a trip!!

Rebound

I really enjoyed this, it wasn't quite as good as the first one, but still very good!
One issue, and i know it's daft but in a situation he said things had been going so well and now they'd done a complete 360, if one does a 360 they would be exactly where they were, so should it have been a 180? As in going the other way!?!? I know it's petty, but man it bugged me lol.

the only one I truly hated

I don’t read Jordan Silver for literary brilliance, I enjoy the petty at times and watching cheaters get consequences. But the way I hated the FMC at 65% into the book.

Spoilers

She went to another man’s house, into his bedroom and then didn’t call the MMC to come get her but didn’t want any consequences to her actions?! I hate the lack of accountability.

A love story but not a romance

This is a love story about a girl escaping a stalker and hiding out. It is, however, not much of a love story. I preferred Matt's character to Josh's from book 1, but most of the story is about the heroine's trauma. It was a lot of the same thing over and over.

The ending is worth the read

We know Matt from his brother’s book. He is reeling from the mess his girlfriend made, after meeting Kayden and talking himself in circles he figures out he can’t out run fate. He comes up with a way to deal with his new life and it just gets better from there.

Matthew and Kadyn are great characters, the story is great and the writing is fantastic (not including the editing issues). The story-line and the characters enabled me to look past the editing issues. Great job Jordan Silver!

2.5 stars rounded down

It started pretty promising - the crazy was all there - but it descended into BS and all the fun plots were sidelined for abuse plots.

There was a LOT more unintentional hilariousness here than in the last book, however.

A worthy sequel!

Matt and Kadyn. I love them. These two have been through hell and just so happened to find each other at the right time.
This a reread for me. 100% this will be a story I come back too over and over.

Rebound was so totally OTT in the best way. After witnessing Matthew’s initial story in Passion, I was super happy to be able to see him get his HEA with Kadyn. And what a story it was. There was so much there! I absolutely loved Matthew and Kadyn’s story!

Love this series

This is good second book form the first. I like how laid back Matthew is compared to Joshua. He is the ying to Joshuas yang. But he is just as lovingly dangerous. Of course Josh is my fav. Thank you
