Geunwon is tasked with trying to hire Yiseo into Jangga Group. Yiseo not only refuses the offer, but manipulates Geunwon into revealing that his father used his influence to protect him from the law after he caused Saeroyi's father's death and records the conversation.

Yiseo releases the incriminating recording with Geunwon's confession online. The public takes notice, as does his father who must now choose between saving his company's image and his son's freedom. He chooses to save the company's image. Geunwon ends up in jail. Saeroyi earns the full wrath of his competitor, but for now he must lay low until the scandal wears off.

Seven years later Saeroyi's IC Corporation has flourished into a business to rival Jangga Group in size as well. Still, they rank second to Jangga Group, which keeps Saeroyi on his toes constantly. He has reached the point for the next step of his plan - to become a non-executive director in a Jangga Group, backed by Jangga Group's own CEO Kang Minjung.
