Accompanied by Sir William the wise tomcat, Enrico and Caruso the guinea pig poets, and Tjark the robot hamster, the quintet find themselves in a dangerous land filled with Crusaders and wild hamsters (Has Freddy found the Promised Land?)! But when the Crusaders capture Enrico and Caruso and plan to eat them, the entire mission is put in jeopardy. With time running out, can the team accomplish their mission? Will this be Freddy's final quest?
Freddy is an amazing little golden hamster who knows how to read and write ( he writes on a MAC because he's a hamster so he cant hold a pencil or push hard enough on a typewriter of course ). You're probably wondering if he and his friends can... Wait I have not told you who his friends are, well their simply the other pets in the apartment he lives in his pals are: William or Sir William a calm wise cat and Enrico and Caruso two crazy annoying poet guinea pigs. So Freddy and his pals cant talk to humans but they can talk to other animals. So one day a worried scientist asks their master Mr. John if his amazing pets to go on a mission in time to save his son who has a disease that can only be cured by some DNA from an ancestor who lived in the 15TH century. Do you think they should accept this mission? If you want to learn more read the book.
i wish i had started reading this from the beginning of the series, though i'm not saying that was necessary. i think they caught you up from the other books in this one. it's that it was that good. the story just comes out of nowhere and takes over. i love the dynamics between the characters and how flaws are pointed out. i love the way the characters grow and become closer at the end of the story. i love that there is more and more to the adventure than just the overall adventure. though, i must say that there were some adult things in there that kids may pick up on and may not pick up on. that wasn't necessary to put in the book. other than that - great! i plan to get the complete set and introduce freddy to my students very soon!
I guess this is the last Freddy book. i have not read the others nor do I wish to. I didn't like this book. The Freddy books do get checked out in my library but this one did not impress me.

This is the last and saddest book. Freddy went through time and met this female hamster using a time machine. In the end he's going to the past and the guy who made the machine destroyed and freddy was in the past forever....
