Quick summary
Single mother and linguist Vivi Vincent walks into the Minnesota Mall with her 8-year old son, Michael, and within minutes finds herself in the middle of one of the worst terrorist attacks since 9/11. FBI Special Agent Jed Brennan, on leave and on his way to his Wisconsin hometown, stops by the mall for some Christmas shopping and finds himself unwittingly in the middle of the action. He joins forces with the resourceful Vivi to escape but not before her son manages to overhear vita
4 stars – Romantic Suspense

Loved it! Cold Pursuit is a gripping, intense, and action packed romantic suspense thriller that reads like a great movie. My only complaint is the same I had with the first book, A Cold Dark Place, which is that I felt like the ending was a bit rushed for the H/h, and I wanted a more definitive HEA. Still, it’s an excellent romantic suspense read, and I’m really enjoying this series. I can’t wait for the next book, Cold Light of Day, to come out!

4.5 Stars - Love it when a book delivers on both the suspense & the romance! Cold Pursuit is the perfect blend. The action starts right away as Vivi Vincent enters the Minnesota Mall with her mute son, Michael, and finds herself in the middle of a terrorist attack. FBI Agent Jed Brennan rescues them only to realize that Michael is in danger because of what he may have seen or heard while hiding from the terrorists. Jed vows to protect them, whisking them away to a safe house that proves to b ...more
Cold Pursuit is the novel that follows A Cold Dark Place, the second book in the Cold Justice series by Toni Anderson. It tells the story of single mom Veronica Vincent (Vivi) and her eight year old son Michael who get caught up in the crossfire of a terrorist attack at a shopping mall. With an eidetic memory, Michael who doesn’t speak poses a serious threat to the plans of the terrorists, whose bigger agenda supersedes that of any usual terrorist attack.

Cold Pursuit (Cold Justice #2) by Toni Anderson was everything I am coming to expect from this author and more. I loved this story and characters. It has everything I want in a Romantic Suspense; action, suspense, tension and two people who deserve each other with a HEA.

The story starts with a mall attack by terrorists while single mom, Vivi Vincent and her son, Michael, are shopping and enjoying the holiday season. FBI agent, Jed Brennan is also in the mall with no weapon, while on vacation. A

Now I know in the last book I told you I wasn’t a big mystery suspense fan. I am taking that statement back. I couldn’t put this book down. I loved it. Romance Suspense is quickly become a favorite of mine.
Vivi Vincent literally lived through a nightmare, with her 8 yr old son who is none speaking.
Not only that but she is running for her and her sons life with the help of FBI Special Agent Jed Brennan.

The sparks fly between these two from the get go. It’s plain to see they are hot for each othe

Talk about a plot that is ripped from the headlines, this one is America's worst nightmare. This book grabs you from the first page and takes you on a waterslide of twists and turns and will make you lose sleep, even after you finish it. The "this could happen at any time" feeling will stay with you long after you finish this book. While mired in some angst and small amounts of the martyr syndrome, this is still one fantastic read.

Umaiya ❄️Ramblings of a Scattered Mind❄️

2.5 stars

I really thought I was gonna enjoy this. Books with single parents that actually feature the child are my jam and Micheal was just precious.

But unfortunately, I didn't.

If this were a couple of years ago, younger Umaiya would have just shrugged it off so maybe I'm just being really sensitive about the whole thing but as a Muslim woman I'm sick of all the "arab" muslim terrorist plots. I'm sick of it only being terrorism when a "muslim" is involved. How the individual is considered distur

Tense thriller about an act of terrorism in a popular shopping mall written in such vivid detail as the reader you felt like you were living the nightmare right along with the characters.

Sometimes it hard to envision scenes in a book but when it’s written in or about a location you’ve been to before it makes it all so real in your mind and very scary. Even though the name is changed a bit it takes place in the Mall of America in Minnesota. Could you imagine multiple gunmen opening fire right th

A little fast on the romance side of things, a little frustrating on the push and pull side of things, but the action was 5 stars, mainly in terrorism form. I LOVED Killian, a new character and will be looking forward to his book! But for now, I'm skipping straight to book 4, Frazer's story.

Good Story, Great Narration (Audible Review)
This was a good story. I did like the first story better. I felt like the romance in this story was more prevalent, but seemed more forced than than in the previous story. Sometimes the romance part of the story was repetitive. There is a sex scene, nicely written, not erotica.

I liked the hero, Jed (the name, not so much) he was handsome, smart and strong. I thought the heroine Vivi was okay too but she was kind of annoying sometimes.

The opening sequence in this book is one of the most chilling openings I've read in a long time. It involved a terrorist attack at a mall with a large body count. The account was riveting. When the action moved from the mall, with an 8 year old witness, Michael, and his mother being whisked away into protective custody, I thought the book slowed down and I wasn't as into it. I would have liked the entire book to take place in the mall. The romance between the FBI agent and the mom felt forced. M ...more

Starts off fast paced.

Filled with suspense and mystery.

Great characters and a perfect blend of adult romance.

Some repetition and typos/editing errors.

All and all, this is a great series.

Hands down one of the very best romantic suspense books I've ever read. I'm off to read #1 in the series.
Cold Pursuit is book two in the Cold Justice series by Toni Anderson. Vivi Vincent and her son Michael was visiting a local shopping mall in Minneapolis when it was attached. While trying to escape Vivi Vincent came in contact with FBI Special Agent Jed Brennan who helps her to get away from the gunman. However, that was not the end of terror for FBI Special Agent Jed Brennan and Vivi Vincent. The readers of Cold Pursuit will continue to go on a rollercoaster ride with Jed and Vivi to find out w ...more

Trapped in a mall during a terror attack, Vivi Vincent and her young son, Michael, soon find themselves targets when it becomes clear that Michael may have witnessed details about the terrorists' future plans. Placed in protective custody with FBI agent Jed Brennan, Vivi must face the threats not only to her life but to her heart as well.

Enjoyable overall, but there are several troubling elements that undermine both the story and the characters.

A terrifying scenario - terrorists running amok in a very large mall, with lots of casualties! But who really is behind the attack? Pretty good book, love the storyline and it was relatively fast-paced, a bit steamy in a couple of places, but I managed to stay somewhat focused!

2 thumbs up and 4.5 stars!

Another 5* read in this series so she has 2 for 2 right now. I look forward to book 3. It features a VERY topical story indeed with the terrorism that goes on these days. She even made us like Pilah a little, I found. I did like Vivi and Jed a great deal and even Patrick Killion. He was perhaps my favourite as I liked his biting humour.
It's a very exciting story, plenty of non-stop action all the way through....I could've done without the sex but the author's mainly a romance writer so it needs

My rating: 5 of 5 ⭐

After coming to Minneapolis to see yet another specialist, Vivi Vincent is browsing the toystore with her eight-year old son Micheal in the mall, when suddenly explosions and gunfire erupts around them. She manages to keep her son hidden and find help in the form of an off duty FBI agent, who is unwittingly thrown in the centre of the action. Both Vivi and her son come away physically unharmed, but many aren't so lucky.

Awesome read..

WOW! This had so much excitement from the very beginning. As good as the first book, A Cold Dark Place, was, this one was better.

I really liked Jed. He was kind and sweet and considerate, except when it came to doing his job and then was deadly. My kind of hero. Vivi was ok. She spent too much time trying to figure out if Jed was “real’ or if he was like her ex: a liar and an abuser. Really, how many times does he have to save your life, and Michael’s, before you KNOW he’s not like
Mostly a suspense book, with a little bit of romance thrown in. Really didn't feel the connection between Jed and Vivi. Became pretty frustrated with the whole story line of her mute son. Story followed a very predictable plot. Author abbreviated quite a few things without any explanation that became annoying, such as DOD, BAU, DUSM, ASAC, JTTF, NSA, ERT, DNI, etc. Better watch ten episodes of Criminal Minds to figure out what these mean.

Wow this book has you gripped with terror. Vivi and her son are in a mall during a terror attack. Unfortunately her son saw things and now he’s in danger. Jed was there as well and tries to help. Impossible to put down. Received a free copy.

“The public had trouble understanding how seemingly normal people could kill innocent civilians in the name of their cause. Psychiatric research suggested a phenomena called doubling, first observed amongst the Nazis. They often started off with a desire to fix something that they saw as broken, but after a certain amount of indoctrination, they became two people—their former seemingly benign self, and a morally disengaged killer capable of horrific acts of murder. State sponsored terrorism was a different beast, with horns and claws and tentacles.” 0 likes
