Soooo this is set in the AU of Neckz and Throatz where Derek is the photographer of said magazine and Stiles is the newbie model. Typically this trope has been steeped in heavy smex - this one a bit more tame. However please don't dismiss it solely on that.
Derek is relationship shy, having been "burned" by cruel Kate. He 's emotionally unavailable, not interested in any intimate contact until Stiles comes along.
Stiles in all his no filter glory is the solution that slowly draws Derek out. It was actually quite fun to see these two date, to learn each other and show their commitment.
These boys may take it slow but the UST is just enough to make the payoff well worth the wait.
"and god, the way he smelled - like paper and books, and sweet, milky tea, caramelized sugar and grass and the outdoors… that his wolf was desperately trying to claw his way out to mark... to show him that they belonged together."

Stiles is in college and gets set up with a job as a model for a werewolf magazine - Derek's the photographer.
This had potential, but so much time was spent in Stiles and Derek's heads that I had flashbacks to the original version of Evenfall - stuck in Boyd's never ending monologue. These two had eight sentence conversations that were a whole chapter due to the time spend in head space between the dialogue. The pining became repetitive and overwhelming. Where did I tap out on this one you ask? Well fuck, because I had to close the fic when I got to the classic Sterek ending one and only sex scene. That's right, I DNF'd at the sex scene - I just stand being in either of their heads any longer. Glad they resolved all the silly miscommunications to get into bed, but I had been so bored I couldn't even be bothered with reading the consummation. If nothing else, this one strung me along. I kept wanting to know where it was going even if it took a detour every other paragraph to get there.

This is a really good story. This is a Sterek fanfiction story. For those of you that don't know...Sterek fanfic is based off 2 male characters, Stiles and Derek, from the TV show Teen Wolf. In the show they're both heterosexual but some viewers have fantasized about them together in a m/m relationship and thus Sterek was born. This story isn't based around the TV show at all. Derek is a werewolf and most of his family was killed in a fire. He was involved with Kate but she was just a bitch and had nothing to do with his family's deaths. Stiles is a college student who doesn't know the Hales until he does a photoshoot with Derek.
The story is a really good Sterek. Derek is somewhat broody because of his family being killed (all except for Peter and Laura) and then Kate making him distrust relationships. He does get into his photography and likes his job as a photographer for his family's magazine (although sometimes he wishes he could do more artistic stuff). Stiles is friends with Lydia (who owns a modeling agency) and need some extra cash for college so she sets him up for the shoot with Derek. They find that there's a connection between them and they both can't help but think about each other when the shoot is over. Thankfully, they run into each other again before too long and this starts them becoming friendly.
Derek likes Stiles but is hesitant about a new relationship, partially worrying that Stiles might turn out to be bad like Kate and partially waiting for the other shoe to drop because he doesn't believe he deserves good things. Stiles likes hanging around with Derek but because Derek's so terribly handsome, Stiles tries not to hope for too much and tries to be content with any time he gets with Derek. After a bit of fumbling, They confirm their mutual like/attraction for each other. Things are taken slowly but progress is made and by the end of the story, Stiles and Derek are doing well and starting their HEA together.
This was a really enjoyable story. I really liked Stiles and Derek in this story. Their getting together was very sweet (although not totally fluffy sweet) with little angst and left me feeling really good as I finished the story. :D

Neckz 'n Throats.
This is another Sterek story where I'm telling you now: If you're not in the circle, some things will go over your head.
If you don't know what the Neckz 'n Throats trope is...have several seats, do your due diligence, and come back when you understand. Because without that, a lot of what happens in this fic, the universe it exists in, and the tropes employed are going to go over your head. You might still enjoy it, but the experience won't be as rich and you won't catch all the little fandom winks and nods.
But dude...Neckz 'n Throats. I am here for all things Neckz 'n Throats.

Maybe rounded it up a little bit, but I've been so Sterek starved that I savored every moment.
I was expecting a little more smexy, but it had enough to keep me happy. It wasn't lacking in that sense at all. I liked the build up. It was a fun read.

This was a great AU version of Sterek. A great quick read that has a lot of sexual tension.
