Rate this book
The NEW dark comedy from Jonathan Sturak, the Amazon Best-Selling Author of Clouded Rainbow and A Smudge of Gray

Benjamin Pollock is 26 and has been working a dead-end job for three years in Los Angeles. He is overwhelmed with options in life, not knowing what he wants to do or whom he should model his life after. But things change after his old college roommate, Javier, invites him to Las Vegas for a night of sin with the promise that getting laid will solve his problems. From swingers clubs, to hookers, to Russian spies, Benjamin's goal of getting laid turns into a goal of staying alive through the night!

Part dark comedy, part coming-of-age tale, Benjamin represents the voice of Generation Y, lost in their twenties with too many pathways to take in life. Where will Benjamin be in ten years? Married? Kids? Single? Dead? He must make it out of Vegas alive to even have a chance to reach his thirties!

Note to Readers: This book contains graphic language and sexual situations. It would receive an R-rating as a film.

Geek vs Vegas is a fun and fast-paced coming-of-age story. Benjamin Pollock works as an Information Systems Policy Analyst at Pegman Communications in Los Angeles. He is lonely, down on his luck, and looking to spice up his life. When his former college roommate, Javier, insists that Ben spend a night in Las Vegas, he takes up the offer and fantasizes about satisfying his carnal desires. Ben’s trip becomes a series of hilarious events that take him on a wild, adrenaline-packed caper through the salacious underworld of Sin City Vegas. Many chapters are unforgettable not only for their smart, caustic humor, but also due to the lessons Ben is learning about life. As he finds himself in precarious situations, you find yourself rooting for him to do the right thing. The story comes full circle with Benjamin’s self-reflection and an ending that is genuinely touching and heartfelt. Sturak’s writing is smooth and energized. He knows how to steam up the hotness in certain chapters, and he knows how to deliver super one-liners that will make you smile. Much like the way Chuck Palahniuk’s novels seem to defy a specific genre category, Geek vs Vegas is distinctive with its adventuresome humor and themes of growing up. It could launch a new genre aptly called “Geek Fiction.”

I received a free copy from goodreads.
This book was about Benjamin who works at a company in LA.
His old college room mate Javier invited him for a fun weekend in Las Vegas.
Benjamin gets to Vegas and a bizarre series of events happen to him
while in Vegas. I really enjoyed the comedic situations Benjamin encountered
just because he wanted to get laid. The book had me laughing and imagining
the Peaches in my head.
Thanks for the opportunity to read a laugh out loud comedy.

This is a good book if you are looking for a quick read about a crazy night in Vegas! I enjoyed following along with the character's adventures and reading from a man's perspective of Vegas. I didn't feel there was much substance or "feeling" to the book, but then again a book about a wild night in Vegas doesn't necessarily call for that.

I received this book for free through a First Reads Goodreads giveaway.

Just received copy of this book from the author and have enjoyed his style of writing in the past. Johnathan definitely writes with so much description you feel like you are right there in the story with Benjamin. Fast paced crazy story that all takes place within 24 hours, pretty wild. I found the characters to be written well and the story could be made into a movie. Great job Johnathan.
