Jana Downs lives in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina with three cats, one dog, several dozen fish, and a very understanding partner-in-crime who hates to read but makes exceptions for her stories.

You can usually find her either watching bad reality TV, buying way too many books on Amazon, or dreaming up another man or two to occupy her time because life is good but several drop-dead gorgeous nonexistent men is just better.

I kept putting this off due the the threesome angle. I'm kind of over reading these for the most part due to too many working parts to keep track of.

This did not come close to changing my mind. The beginning was ok but as we get deeper in I really started to lose touch with this world. The world building I didn't mind but the relationship stuff and the bad guy stuff..

Bad guy... why go out of your way to try to give a different perspective on a person's intentions from first impression and then go back to reinforcing that first impression? Click spoiler to see but remember it IS a spoiler!

Epilogue.. Hmm not sure what to say. It's a year later and everything seems all tidied up with the leader position filled. It's almost like, why would you need to continue? I know the series is Draconian Heirs and there are plenty left but I just see myself getting interested.

My biggest gripe would be the lack of actual dragons in the dragon story...most shifting was off page and while there was a fairly big plot device based on dragon temperament (aggressiveness, possessiveness, etc) none of the dragons really exhibited any of those traits. But I'll most likely pick up the next one to see where things go.

I expected more from the author after reading her other books. The story jumped around so much I had trouble following what was going on. There were few explanations, and I often had to go back and re-read just to attempt to understand the story-line.
That said, it's base was good. An adventure story with dragons and a menage? It just needs a bit more substance. And actual dragons.

2.5 sadly, even though I usually like dragon books and Jana Downs is one of my fav authors this book just didn't hold my attention. Quest thing *searchig for stones* reminds me of some other Siren book, I just can't remember which one. Story tends to drag at some places. I'll try next one to see if it's better... I hope it is.

A very painful read. I finished it by skimming; there were flaws galore. I've never had complains with any of her works before, and can only think that perhaps the author should have kept to her usual shorter stories. =(

I'm not sure what to say about this one. For a Siren book it was long but it should have been longer. It had a story to tell but didn't quite get there. Devon achieved what he had to in naming the new king but there was so much going on in the background that it seemed skimmed over.

For a book about dragon shifters there is remarkably little shifting and the dragons might as well have been squirrel shifters for all the good it did them. Disappointing introduction to a series.

Love the book, with Devon going to land of Dragons. To visit the place of stories told by his father. Hope to see what happens next, maybe something with Brandon
