In Slovenia we do not have many authors that write in New Adult genre. In fact, Lea J. is one of few I am aware of, and that is why I was so glad to see she is writing books for us, "new" adults. Also, I support Slovenian authors who write in these difficult times that have affected the publishing world quite severely. There is little demand for books in Slovenia, because they are so expensive, and the books are expensive, because there is too little demand for books. Such a vicious circle we are caught in! Branching out of Slovenia is a smart move and this is exactly what Lea J. did. She reached out to English speaking readers and I hope they will be as pleased with what she has to offer as we in Slovenia are.
Beyond All Boundaries is a light, enjoyable summer read a girl is happy to read on a summer vacation, laying on the beach, sipping a mojito and having a jolly good time. Characters are likeable (with the exception of some nasty ones - they are introduced later on) and the plot is nothing complicated. There is a girl who likes pole dancing, a hot guy with mesmerizing blue eyes, a sex-crazed best friend and a stalker who has a penchant for orchids. Throw in some good old drama with the ex, car accidents and crazy people, and voila - Beyond All Boundaries!
P.s. And the sexy scenes were nicely written. I am pointing this out because in Slovenian language sexy scenes often don't sound so appealing and fluid and ... well, sexy (for the lack of a better word) - it's just kind of awkward. Do any of my fellow Slovenians read romance novels in Slovenian? Amanda Quick, for example? I remember reading her novels and laughing hysterically during the sexy scenes because they were hilarious. The words used, the klutzy descriptions of situations... Ah it was so hard to read and so awkward... Poor translator, I guess she was not that skilful in this department... :D
However, there was one, only one word, that I had a problem with. When the female main character was in throes of passion, she "screamed like a banshee" ("Zadrla se je"). That threw me off a bit. I would have much preferred she "moan loudly" ((za)stokala) or something like that. (It's just that I always connected the verb "dreti se" with a wailing child or "dreti se kot jesihar". :D

Kopijo knjige sem dobila v branje v zameno za iskreno kritiko.
Triindvajsetletna Nia je plesalka, ki se po razhodu s svojim fantom preseli k prijateljici. Na hodniku svojega bloka sreča prekrasnega modrookega tipa, katerega nikakor ne more pozabiti. Je pravi lepotec, vendar ženskar.
Jason pa nikakor ne more pozabiti tiste dolgonoge lepotice, ki je tako strmela vanj na hodniku bloka. Še nikoli ni posvečal nobeni ženski niti za trenutek preveč svojega časa, na Nii pa je nekaj, da si je nikakor ne more izbiti iz glave.
Ker Nia ne podleže njegovemu šarmu, je Jason še bolj odločen da jo osvoji.
Medtem prijateljica Nio prijavi na šov talentov in kmalu za tem se ji življenje postavi na glavo. Nii preti nevarnost in Jason, ki je zasebni preiskovalec vzame stvari v svoje roke. Odločen je, da naredi vse, da jo obvaruje.
Tako vse več časa preživita skupaj in se zbližata na način, ki preseneti oba.
V osnovi gre za romantično zgodbo, s primesmi kriminalke, kar zgodbo naredi še bolj zanimivo. Takoj, ko sem pričela z branjem, sem zadovoljno opazila, da mi sede slog pisanja, ki ga ima pisateljica. Knjiga se bere tekoče, brez zatikanj.
Krasno se mi je zdelo, da sem lahko brala tako Niin kot tudi Jasonov vidik dogodkov. Ker se kaj kmalu izkaže, da Jason ni le mišičast puhloglavec, ki si želi Nio spraviti v posteljo, dam velik plus pisateljici, ker je počakala s spolnostjo in nam je ni servirala takoj na začetku.
Knjigo sem pričela brati pozno popoldne in je nisem mogla odložiti, dokler je nisem prebrala. Gre za odlično branje! Popolnoma me je presenetila, je neverjetna, vroča, hrepeneča, skrivnostna in napeta. Med junakoma se krešejo iskrice, zrak je nabit s spolno privlačnostjo. Skratka, vroče! Ko sem knjigo prebrala, sem bila nekaj trenutkov popolnoma šokirana nad dejstvom, kako zelo dobra je bila in obenem žalostna, ker sem prišla do konca. To je tisti občutek ko knjigo prebereš, zapreš in obsediš z zadovoljnim nasmeškom na ustnicah. Hočem še!!!
Ker gre za pisateljičin prvenec, se lahko zadovoljno smejim še naprej in nestrpno čakam na njene naslednje zgodbe. Vse pohvale avtorici. Moja ocena je čista 5*****. Priporočam!

I had the pleasure of reading Beyond All Boundaries for the author as an ARC.
Wow, Wow and Wow!! I loooovvveeee this book! I was pleasantly surprised, this book had a little bit of everything: romance, humor, sex, sadness, friendship. It is basically a romantic story, mixed with crime, which makes the story even more interesting.
As soon as I started reading it, I happily noticed that you get to read both point of views – his and hers. The love interest isn't the typical guy with washboard abs. He's a bigger guy which I like a lot. I really liked the way they took things slow instead having full blown sex in the middle of the book.
I couldn't put it down until I finished it. A great setting, clear writing, and a believable plot with plenty of intrigue and suspense keeps the reader engaged from beginning to the end.
Also well written, evenly paced with good character development, this book definitely keeps your interest.
I highly recommend this book and author! If you enjoy contemporary romance, sexy time and a twist, put this on your TBR!!!!

Well, I was lucky enough that I had the chance to beta read this book :D
This book was one hot, suspenseful read and I loved every second of it! The plot was just amazing, I was hooked from the very first page and 'till the end!!
Nia is a pol dancer (not a stripper ;) ), she lives with her best friend Hannah, her parents died in a car accident...
Jace is H.O.T.!!! :D Dark, blue eyes, tattoo :D yummmy :D he and his best friend are private investigators and own PI agency, his sister and niece moved across the hall from Nia.
This book has a lot of steam, romance, drama, suspense... overall, a really good read. :D

This is Lea J.'s debut novel and I was really excited to have the chance to read it. I was immediately drawn in by the cover and synopsis.
The story itself was interesting and kept me reading. I had a theory and *had* to know if I was right. Even though I was right, she still hit me with a few surprises at the end and I totally didn't see those coming.
Unfortunately, I wasn't really able to connect emotionally with the characters and I was more interested in finding out if my theory was correct than I was with what was going on with the characters.
I do think that its important to note that Beyond All Boundaries was written in Slovenian and translated to English. There were some phrases and words that just seemed off or out of place. I think this is part of why I had a hard time connecting to the characters.
I think that for her debut novel Lea J. did a pretty good job. I have no doubt that her books will only get better with time and experience.

Lepo je videti, da slovenski avtorji ustvarjajo kaj na področju New Adult ("Frišno odrasli", haha), ker v Sloveniji ravno za starostno skupino mladih od 18-29 (recimo) ni veliko literature s tega žanra. Prav tako podpiram, da se širimo na tuj, ameriški trg, ker na žalost v Sloveniji po knjigah ni (večjega) povpraševanja in navala.
Preko vseh meja je luštno lahkotno poletno branje, kot nalašč za odklop možgančkov na plaži. Jaz sem jo sicer prebirala sredi najhujšega navala faksovskih obveznosti, sem pa v mislih bežala nekam na tropsko obalo ... Sicer je prisotna tudi bolj temačna tematika, in par scen je takih, da ti pulz poveča (na slab in dober način, if you know what I mean *pomiga z obrvmi*), ampak na koncu se vse srečno konča. Prisotnih je tudi dosti klišejev , kar vsi veste, da ne maram, toda dandanes je v tem žanru bilo napisano že čisto vse in je težko kaj čisto originalnega napisat, pa sem se raje osredotočala na dobre stvari :D

I received an ARC of this book in return for an honest review, and I'm so glad I did. This book was a great read. I started off thinking it was another romance book. Well, it was that, and so much more. Beyond all Boundaries had me fall in love with the characters, Nia was a great leading lady, and Jason was very, very loveable. He was good looking, with a heart of gold, that adored Nia, and was so protective of her, it made my heart melt.
The story had everything, it had me laughing, crying, and in parts, I was unable to stop reading, I just had to know what happened next. The suspense at the end of this book was almost unbearable, I couldn't wait to find out how it all ended. J Lea is a great author that sure knows how to suck in the reader with her writing.
I recommend 'Beyond All Boundaries' to anyone that likes reading a love story with a twist, and the twist will have you hooked until the very last page.

Beyond all Boundaries is a beautiful love story of boy next door. Nia is a dancer, but not the typical dancer. Her friend enters her in a talent competition because she is astonished with her ability. Upon entering and doing well in the beginning Nia had to drop out due to a horrible accident. Jason who is Amy's brother recently started noticing Nia and knew he had to have her. A playboy and PI Jason was totally turned on by Nia. The closer Jason and Nia got the more threatening letters Nia received she had an evil secret admirer, Will Jason save her in time to capture her heart and make her his. Beyond All Boundaries is a fresh take on a beautiful love story! It had everything a person could want in a story; love, passion, friendship, adventure and mystery are just a few of the amazing elements! The book made me laugh and cry. It also held me on the edge of my seat trying to figure out who Nia's stalker was. I defiantly recommend this book, Lea Jerancic is a lovely writer and I look forward to reading more of her books.

Preko vseh meja je samoizdana knjiga, ki je nastala pod peresom Lee Jerančič, izdana pa je tako v tiskani kakot v elektronski izdaji. Knjiga je napisana v 1. osebi in se izmenjujeta pogleda obeh protagonistov
Zgodba se začne z Nio, plealko, ki ravnokar konča zvezo z fantom Seanom saj le-ta postane posesivni ljubosumnež z nagnjenjem k nasilju. Preseli se v stanovanje k prijateljici in sodelavki Hannah, kamor se kmalu tudi preseli soseda Amy z hčerko. Amy pa ima tudi zelo zapeljivega brata Jasona, ki je tudi zelo popularen pri ženskah, in s katerim se Nia sreča na hodniku. Med njima takoj nastane neka nerazložena privlačnost ki se skozi knjigo neprestano stopnjuje.
Medtem pa Nia začne dobivati ljubezenska sporočilca z orhidejo, za katere predvideva da so Seanova, ki jo hoče nazaj. Ko pa se ljubezenska sporočilca spreobrnejo v sporočilca grožnje se Jason ponudi za njenega zaščitnika in začne raziskovati kdo je tisti, ki ji jih pošilja. Zgodba se zaplete, ko jo zasledovalec napade in Nia pristane v bolnišnici. Od takrat naprej Jason ne zapusti njene strani in jo začne še bolj zavzeto ščititi. Vse dokler zasledovalec ne dobi Nie v roke...
Celotna knjiga se osredotoča na Nio in Jasona in kako se spoznavata in zaljubljata. Zgodba je kratka, lahkotna in hitro berljiva, torej primerna za vse tiste, ki se soočajo z pomanjkanjem časa. Sama sem dobila ACR izvod in sem končno našla čas, da jo preberem. Knjiga mi je bila všeč, saj je nekaj novega na slovenski knjižni sceni, saj se je pisateljica pogumno podala v romantično/erotični žanr, ki je ostal v zadnjih letih zelo popularen žanr za (posebej) žensko populacijo. Zdi se mi, da bi do+ialogi v knjigi lahko bili še bolj izpopolnjeni, saj je pisateljica že na zažetku dialoga hotela predati čim več informacij. Primer za to bom dala, ko Jason gre na obisk k Amy in ta že v prvem govoru pove, da je bila v trgovini, srečala sosedo, ji je všeč itd. Zdi se mi, da bi določene stvari lahko bile povedane v nadaljnem pogovoru in se tem bi se povečal tako dialog kot tudi 'character development' za katerega tudi mislim, da bi tud bil potreben malo več pozornosti.
Vendar pa čestitke pisatljici in čim več uspeha v nadaljih knjigah za katere verjamem, da bodo z več izkušnjami (kot pri vseh pisateljih) vedno boljše!

I have just finished this book and found that I did enjoy it a lot. Initially I found it a little hard going and struggled to follow which character was which but that didn't last long. Once I got on top of the characters I found myself wanting to know more and continued reading. The author has a great ability to keep you guessing, as soon as you think you know what's going to happen there is a big twist and you are taken in a new direction. I like the interaction between Jason and Nia, their love for each other is so obvious to everyone but they are trying to deny it to themselves.... All in all a great read and I would recommend to anyone who enjoys a love story with a bit of suspense.....

I love a book that has it all: love, mystery, suspense and hot sex!!
This book delivers. Jason, the ladies man, cannot understand why Nia is not falling at his feet begging him to take her.....and that is just the start of this awesome developing relationship.
The characters are all equally entertaining and the author really draws you into each one of them so you feel an attachment to each one.
The mystery and suspense of who is stalking Nia keeps you on the edge of your seat trying to figure out who done it and why!
In the end you will shocked and fall in love with this book just like I did. Highly recommend this book to read!!

The characters are all equally entertaining and the author really draws you into each one of them so you feel an attachment to each one.
The mystery and suspense of who is stalking Nia keeps you on the edge of your seat trying to figure out who done it and why!
In the end you will shocked and fall in love with this book just like I did. Highly recommend this book to read!!

Define the bad boy
Almost every woman wants to try her hand at gaming the bad boy. Jason is an excellent womanizer. Has a new one every turn. Nia is smart, beautiful, hot woman who doesn't give into Jason like the rest. It's great to read a story where the lead female isn't a doormat nor is she immune to the lead males charm. She makes him work for it. I think it's the perfect way to get the man you really want. They love to chase. Jason didn't even know.is what hit him. He fell hard. The book has the right amount of drama for this story as well. Good book..

This was a great read. I couldn't put it down & read it in one day. It was a case of insta-love but that's ok. The story was engaging, had steam & a touch of sadness. Overall I thought the book was pretty enjoyable.

Great story. It really captured my attention. I thought the pole dancing was a nice effect on the story. I will admit, sometimes the writing was a little too simple. I enjoyed the chemistry between Nia and Jason.

Amazing
I loved it. the two characters are meant for each other. the book wasn't too steamy but it was a great story about trust and love that someone can have fire someone else.

Beyond All Boundaries
This book has it all.....drama, suspense, steamy love scenes! An impressive read by Lea Jerancic. I couldn't put it down.

Ne spominjam se, da sem že kdaj brala tako slabo knjigo, niti da bi kateri knjigi dala najnižjo oceno. Vedno najdem v vsaki knjigi nekaj, kar mi je všeč. Vse do sedaj... Da začnem pri samem pisanju. Stil pisanja mi sploh ni všeč. Ponekod me zmoti raba besed, (kot so fak, stara, šit) ki po mojem mnenju, niso ravno primerne za v knjigo, ampak dobro, to lahko še spregledam, ker so večinoma uporabljene v pogovoru. Prav mučno mi je bilo branje vseh ponavljajočih stavkov, predvsem en se je kar naprej ponavljal in to je bil; Popravil sem si tiča v hlačah. Vsakih nekaj strani se je pojavil in če ga že ni napisala pri njegovim POV, ga je uporabila, ko je pisala iz njenega POV. Tudi sami dialogi so bili slabi, bi lahko bili bolj izpopolnjeni.
Čez celo knjigo se mi je zdelo, da se je pisateljici mudilo napisati knjigo oz. da jo je napisala zelo na hitro. Veliko je bilo nepotrebnega opisovanja, sploh je na dolgo in široko pisala kaj je kdo imel oblečeno. In tudi s karakterji se nikakor nisem mogla povezati. Kljub vsemu priznam, da mi je bila ideja o plesalki ob drogu všeč. Bolj ko sem brala, bolj sem imela občutek, da je navdih za svojo junakinjo dobila pri punci, ki je nastopala pri talentih v Ukrajini. Njen posnetek je nekaj časa nazaj krožil po FBju. Obe sta plesali ob drogu pred žirijo, obe sta se uvrstili naprej, tudi vsi so bili navdušeni nad obema in povrhu sta bili še obe enako oblečeni. Celo pesem pri samem nastopu je bila ista. Naključje? Ne, mislim, da je šlo samo za pomanjkanje izvirnosti in slabo kopiranje.
Kasneje sem šla pogooglat Ukrajinsko plesalko in odkrila, da so popolnoma vsi nastopi punce dobesedno prekopirani v knjigo. Obleke, gibi, pesmi... VSE. Razumem, da dobiš inspiracijo nekje. A naj bo to le inspiracija in ne dobesedno kopiranje.
Knjiga je bila predvidljiva, z lahkoto sem ugotovila kdo je bil zlobnež v knjigi oz. napadalec. Bilo je le malo karakterjev in ni ga bilo težko odkriti. Lahko bi naštevala še in še, a mislim, da sem povzela glavne stvari. Knjiga je resnično slaba. Pri tej knjigi me je minilo, da bi sploh prebrala še kakšno njeno. Škoda časa in preveč dobrih knjig za prebrat, da bi se mučila s takim knjigam. Ne priporočam.

You'll love watching these two grow closer. Jason is such a sweetie and I loved Nia. She's a great female lead and they're perfect for each other. I really liked all the secondary characters and could see more happening between Danny and Hannah. Good quick read.

I almost DNF this one and actually at some point had to out this down and didn't pick it up until now.
I love the cover and the blurb got me bad. I was so excited to read about it especially since I had been wondering if anyone would use the amazing Anastasia solokova at Ukraine got talent as an inspiration for book character. And what do you know? This one pretty much it.
The story doesn't flow easily. The writing is not captivating enough for me. I can't connect to the character emotionally. The story materials is promising but the execution is not there.
I ended up skimming through after 30% and sadly don't enjoy this one.

Preprosto WOW
Knjiga mi je bila nasplošno všeč le to me je motilo, da so me določeni prizori spominjali na njene ostale knjige, ki sem jih prebrala. Glede zlobneža v tej knjigi je pa tako, kmalu sem začela sumiti Blaka oz Petra, preprosto sem vedela, da ne more biti glavi krivec njen bivši fant. Vmes sem bila sicer malce v dvomih in sem celo posumila, da je Jacob ta kriminalc. Le kje sem imela pamet??
Me je pa knjiga tudi spravila v smeh, 3/4 knjige sem se smejala, predvsem zaradi razmišljenja glavnih likov. Tako, da za kakšno lahkotno branje med obveznostmi, zagotovo vzamem še kakšno njeno knjigo, predvsem zato ker ima manj kot 500 strani, kot ostale knjige, ki jih berem.

This book was suspenseful and hot. I loved the characters and their bonds together. I loved how the plot continued to twist and turn. I was not expecting some of the twists. The book was well written and flowed very well. It was thrilling and sexy!

The book was not so bad. The only problem was me.
I am over the new-adult genre, and the fact that I read the book in slovene did not help much.
I am sure that if you like romance, sex and a hot guy this is a book for you.

So after reading I discovered this book was actually written in another language and translated to English. I enjoyed the story but wasn't a huge fan of the writing style. 2.5-3 stars!
