I gave this book 5 stars out of 5 because it was another fantastic book which I read in a couple of hours. The Illustrations in this book were as good as in the first one and illustrated the story brilliantly so I was kept engaged throughout the story.

I loved the fact that this time Spartan went on the Adventure on his own first before going with his friends. The adventure involved the children travelling to an Island in the archipelago of the Phillippines called Mindoro to help them save their

This book is about Spartan and the gang on there next big adventure to the Philippines to save the coral reef. Along the way they meet interesting people and learn amazing facts.

Once again the pictures were amazing and my favourite picture was the one where they were all holding hands to signal the Egg.

My favourite part was when they met Maliit because I liked her personality and I really like her buffalo.

This was another terrific book by Nabila Khashoggi. The premise of the children (Explorers) using their imagination and having it take them to some great places is terrific. I also love that the story has a message – a global message even. Protect what you use and replace what you take. The illustrations are masterful and colorful. They draw the child (reader) in and keep them throughout the entire story. It is very difficult to walk away from. The style is that of a comic book type flow and per ...more

Nabila stepped it up in this one I think. Both in terms of writing, art, and the message being sent. All slight improvements over the first book, which is saying something because I absolutely adored book one. There is just something really amazing about this author and the way they deliver this kind of information. As an adult I was sucked into the story and I couldn't leave it until there was no more story to read. It left me thinking about our world and what we do to it. It makes me a little ...more

In this sequel to the incredible first book, Khasoggi has outdone herself. This adventure deals with overfishing and reef destruction--an incredibly important issue that many people sadly do not consider important. The artwork is continually gorgeous, and the amount of detail present in both the backgrounds and character faces is impressive. Spartan and his friends are a resourceful, inquisitive group of children who represent very good role models for your own kids.

Their visit to the Philippine

The second book, The Reefs of Mindoro Island, they travel to the Philippines where we learn about the coral reef and why it is in danger. They find out that fishermen hired by large fishing companies are using dynamite to stung the fish there which destroys
