Netwars: The Code- Episode 1 is the first part of a planned series that introduces us to Strider- a vigilante hacker that bites off more than he can chew after he kills a CEO of a software company. It is a series reminiscent of a mix between Dexter and Swordfish, combining real world consequences with the virtual world of hackers.

My interest in Netwars began from my personal experience. As I read the synopsis for the book, my interest grew more and more. See, my knowledge of the Deep Web is not

I received Episode 1 of this book from Netgalley for an honest review.

I must admit I wasn't sure what to expect from this book when I downloaded it. However, once I opened it and began reading I found it almost impossible to stop. The well written and easily readable story had me hooked from the beginning and I loved the whole dark web story line and how Strider was there to go after those who thought they were above the law.

My biggest issue with the book is that it was only 1 of the 6 parts an

received through Netgally in exchange for an honest review.

Netwars is part of an episode published novel. Very interesting concept, along with a good story that can defenitely develop into something good. However I will wait until the entire story is published to keep reading, I just prefer to read all in one sitting.

Loved it! And what's more: even though I am a dinosaur in the Age of Technology, I understood the story line! I loved the theme, the characters, the set up...I don't wish to be too specific, but even just in this first episode are a ton of unexpected surprises, abundance of tension, painful hints of backstory...this is a series I shall pursue to its conclusion.

Netwars - The Code by M. Sean Coleman was free from NetGalley to read and provide feedback.

I gave it 5 stars. It was intriguing to say the least. My knowledge of cyberspace is minimal.

This story frightened me by calling to awareness all the aspects of our lives that are governed by the internet. Every key stroke we make, every Twitter or Facebook Status we key in, reveals something about us. Should that knowledge be accessed by an unscrupulous individual, it puts us at risk. It can be used as

Review of the German edition:

Netwars - The Code is a serial book published in six weekly episodes from May 16th to June 20th. Netwars - The Code is also part of a bigger project on giving information about cybercrime and -safety. You can visit the project on:

This is a serial in combination with a Web-TV-Series, Forum etc. Pre-ordered it a few days before publication due to an announcement of the German book which was published 2-3 days earlier - not knowing which is the original language, I choose to buy the english one (guessing from the name of the writer).
Not really sure, how to rate it, as I was distracted with other things and read it slowly. Should be a fast read - but then you wait for the next book in the series.
So far a recommendation, but

I really enjoyed this book. I like everything about it, with only one exception, which was that this was only episode one, and I will have to wait for the remaining episodes to find out what happens next.

This book contained so many things that I found fascinating, cyber-crime, cyber-terrorism, hi-tech gadgetry, black and white hat hackers, secret identities, murder, mystery and mayhem, and so much more.

I thought that the story was interesting and the author created suspense and ambiguity with ea

This is a serial novel and the episodes must be read in order. This is the first installment. Make sure you buy the right language as there are several options and not all episodes are translated into english :) Your Kindle WILL NOT translate it for you!

This is a cyber thriller of the first order! The characters are well thought out and multi layered. The convoluted identities are difficult to unravel so pay attention! The plot is intricate and subplots abound. I found the intrigues engrossing a

I absolutely loved this book. It is a serial novel, but it is one that once you begin you are going to want to read every page of the following series. The technology is true and so informative. It does not bog down in technical details, but it does make you aware of what goes on behind the scenes and what the net is truly capable of. I can't say enough good things about this book, and you should stop reading my review and start reading Netwars. This is a great reading experience, and this author ...more

The flagship security Software - cryptos was supplied to governments as a form of cyber security system around Europe, the company was built on the back of a single piece of code. This is a story of intrigue, mystery and espionage and blackmail at the highest level together with seedy undertones, a secret urge for young girls and a elite group of hackers who have worked on the criminal market on Deep Web. If you are looking for a thriller then this is the one for you, its edge of seat reading wi ...more

This has a lot of potential, but it’s fairly short and I realized upon finishing it this is just one chapter of a larger story – I should have paid more attention to the reviews - if you want to continue the story, you will need to shell out some more cash. Very frustrating. Unless you’re willing to shell out $14+ for the entire story (each episode is $1.99), I would recommend you give this chapter a pass.
