Meredith Bond’s Fire: Nimue’s Destiny, being the third book in her trilogy Children of Avalon, was enjoyable. There is all kinds of action as Nimue will not stop hunting the three children representing air, water, and fire. This book contains some additional verses to Merlin’s prophecy which had been told to another by Bridget’s mother which Bridget hears as she is healing the person who had been told. As the three ‘children’ arrive in Gloucester to visit with Bridget and Scai’s family, Nimue is already there looking for them. Nimue felt she would find them among the Vallen population of Gloucester. She is very close. As the three ‘children’ analyze the new verses of the prophecy, Nimue is searching for them. Magic is used which provides entertainment and some anxious moments for the reader. The ending left me wondering just how the predictions for the ‘children’are actually fulfilled. I am still shaking my head attempting to figure all of it out. I wished there had been a clear depiction of what happened to Scai and Dylan. Bridget’s new role is explained. As I have mentioned, I felt cheated somewhat in relation to Scai and Dylan.
