Romantic suspense with some very dark aspects. The story is powerful and gripping. I couldn’t put it down. However, the hidden secrets are the stuff of nightmares. I thank the author for an advance review copy and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.

This is my first time reading a book by this author.
This was a quick read so I was able to get through it pretty quickly.
Honestly, I was pretty confused for most of the book. There were a lot of side characters. There wasn’t a good flow through the chapters and I found myself trying to see if I missed something every 10 pages or so.
The MMC was pretty toxic, the first time MMC and FMC sleep together, he’s already claiming her as his GF….But then idk what seems like the next day he’s already sleeping with his ex and then proceeds to sleep with an array of women for the next month. Not even a day after he’s slept with someone else, he runs to the FMC house and tells her he loves her??! 🥴 AND demands she tell him she loves him back lol
I don’t mind reading a cheating trope, but it should definitely be mentioned and I don’t believe this was. And I would definitely consider the MMC cheating, because he was telling his family she’s his GF so sleeping with other women while in a relationship is cheating.
There was just so much going on in this short book, that I couldn’t really grasp anything meaningful.
My star rating is for the plot twist itself. It was a wild one and I didn’t see it coming for sure. But the execution with that was off also.

This is the first book I have read by the author, and it is a slow but intriguing storyline. Eliza is a woman who is living a life hiding from her past until it comes walking in the front door. Seth is a man on a mission to find investors for his product when he pitches the company that Eliza works for. These two have some secrets and Seth cannot stop himself from having thoughts about Eliza. The mood feels like one is caught up in a swirling black vortex. Filled with drama, suspense and some very dark facets this is one storyline that will keep the pages turning to see how it all falls out.

This is my first time reading a book by this author and it won't be my last that's for sure. It was such an incredible read.
As soon as I got my hands on the book, I jumped right into it, never putting it down for a minute, I read page after page needing to know what was coming next.
It's such a rollercoaster ride with twists and turns. It's dark, raw, romantic and emotional. It's filled with action, drama, suspense, trauma, redemption, survival, desire, secrets and loads more. I instantly took a liking to Eliza and Seth.
The author done a fantastic job bringing these characters and their story to life. I can't wait to read more books by this author. Highly recommend!!

I am so confused.
The first half of the book was boring as hell. I felt like there was so much space in between time and reality that I couldn't figure shit out.
The last half of the book was written better but I still have so many questions.
The plot though. The peak. The answers that I did get made me fall in love with Eliza.
I just don't know who the hell anyone else is after reading this book.

A story filled with dark secrets, terrible pasts, but also love, desire and steam.
Eliza and Seth... from 2 different worlds, but they just fit. They can't deny the sparks from the first minute they met. And so a whirlwind of a lovestory began.

This was a beautifully written and daunting story. I absolutely loved the twist and turns in the story, the secrets to be discovered.
I think L.M Allen did a beautiful job telling Eliza and Seth’s story.

i’m trying to find things i liked about this book, but i’m at a loss. constant cheating/breaking up, lack of communication, weird time gaps where some days last three chapters and weeks are mentioned in a sentence, unsatisfying conclusion, and honestly boredom in the first half.
