هي مجرد تلاعب لفظي بطريقة الكلام ومكررة اكثر من مرة
كما ان الكتاب لا يتناول الكثير من المغالطات المشهورة
بالمجمل الكتاب ممل بالنسبة لي واظنه سيكون ممتعا لمن لا يعرف ما هي المغالطات المنطقية

This is a fun, useful, and quick-to-read book with a lousy title. The Duck part is fine because it's intriguing, but what are "experiments for the armchair philosopher" when they're at home? I had no idea what I was going to read when I picked this one up.
I see that there's another edition that is subtitled, instead, "and 99 Other Bad Arguments" and that's much more representative of the content. The author is indeed a professor of philosophy and the book is about rhetoric, with a very accessib ...more

بداية الترجمة سيئة جدا ، لذلك أي واحد سيحاول أن يقرأ هذا الكتاب عليهِ بلغتهِ الأصل ، لعله يصل إلى المفاهيم الحقة التي أراد لها صاحبها أن تتعمق فِي خلفية القارئ العقلانية ، ثانيا كأفكار لم تكن جيدة جدا إقناعًا ، فهناك أمثلة نقدية راقت لي و هناك أُخر كانت مجرد حشو من الكاتب نفسه ، هذا الذي يتبنى أتعس الأفكار و أكثرها حدة و صلابة لا تتسم بالموازنة كما أشاد هو فِي آخر ما قاله .

كتاب ممتع يحتوي على بعض المعلومات و الأفكار القيمة و لكني قد اختلف مع الكاتب في بعض وجهات النظر و آراء التي وجدتها غير ملائمة أخلاقياً أو دينيا مثل الحجة 95 إنهم يقتلون المدنيين ، لم ترق لي مناقشة هذه الحجة و لم أجدها منطقية .
I took a LONG time to read this. Each chapter is only a few pages long and so it was easier to read it a little at a time. Still, I enjoyed trying to figure out the flaw in the argument and how an argument made badly can still be persuasive.
Full of great little vignettes of mental gym for the skeptic.
Somewhat Repetitive
The bulk of the examples talk about war. I have very little interest in the topic of military conflict, and I don’t actively seek out news related to such, so reading about people’s war arguments was rather dull. Also, war is a pretty extreme topic that I don’t think many people will find themselves debating, but some of the examples seemed limited in terms of their applicability to other points of conversation.

حجج فاسدة تجعلنا نبدو أغبياء, كتاب ممتع, يدعو للكشف عن الحجج غير المقنعة, المنفتعلة, المنمقة, بحجة المنطق, لمغالطة الحقائق, مما يستوجب علينا التشكيك في كل ما هو غير مدروس مسبقا, لاكتشاف الحجج الفاسده عن غيرها.
جاء الكتاب ضمن نوعية تسد ثغرة واسعة في أنظمة التعليم العربية, و ما اوسع ثغراتها, حيث يغيب الجدل المنطقي, و التشكيك في المغالطات, بل و استخدامها كمسلمات في بعض الأحيان.
للأسف المترجم لم يوفق في الترجمه مما اضاع الكثير في سطور المحتوي

كتاب جيد يفتح أمامك كثير من المغالطات والحجج التي تكون ربما قابلتها كثيراً، وأود أن أشير إلي جملة جائت بآخر هذا الكتاب "إن كشف هذه المغالطات في العالم الواقعي لا يتطلب حفظاً لهذه المغالطات أو الرجوع إليها، ولكن علينا تبني عادة الشك البناء والمدروس في قراءاتنا واستماعنا، وستعرف الحجج الفاسدة نفسها، وحتي إذا ظللنا غير كاملين، فسنصبح مفكرين أفضل.

An exciting first read for "Julian Baggini". It's always beneficial to criticize the ideas around us especially when they are fallacies. Many of the book examples already familiar to me, however, we cannot doubt how well-chosen they were and we supposed to read them constantly.

A reasonable introduction to critical thinking for anyone with no background in philosophy. Many topics are covered, none in depth - as it should be for this type of book.

I often find it irksome when I hear someone trying to propagate their narrow minded opinions with the use of obviously flawed arguments.
Equally irritating was that whilst I knew their was a problem with the logic I couldn't concisely identify and describe the apparent error of logic.
