This is without a doubt the best resource for learning how to hand stitch like an expert.
Al Stohlman shares all the little tricks of the trade that he learned through years of experience.
The master leather workers and artists of today continue to give credit to the Mr. Stohlman for having passed on the instructions and insight to future generations.

I bought this book to learn stitching techniques for a leather chair I want to repair. This is an old Spanish Colonial style chair that has the seat and back ripped. While I have not started the project yet, the book explains and illustrates all of the techniques.

This is an excellent manual. Al Stohlman was a gifted teacher, as is evident in his ability to simplify more intricate skills.
