Pepper Pace is the pen name used by the author. Born and raised in Cincinnati, she has always enjoyed creativity. At a very young age, Pepper had a gift for art and would spend most of her spare time drawing images that she later began adding stories behind. Soon writing became more important than the illustrations and though she still loved art, it took a back seat to her real love.
Pepper wrote her first novel when she was 12 years old and had written 2 more by the age of 18. Too shy to share her work with anyone, Pepper stock piled her many stories into notebooks until she came upon Literotica.com and was compelled to share her craft.
Pepper became instantly popular and won several awards each year in which she submitted a story to the site. After receiving popular feedback, she grew in confidence and created a popular blog entitled Writing Feedback where she encourages her readers to interact with her on topics concerning, music, writing, art and pop culture, and can be contacted at her blog: pepperpacefeedback.blogspot.com/
Pepper lives in Cincinnati where many of her characters also reside.
Book Three The book was pretty good to me, although I wanted a change in Kim.Paul was better for me than in the first two books. I can see that we are seeing Kim's personality with Tony, Alexis, and Paul. Kim was a weakling in this story. In my opinion, there was not a drop of growth with her as far as her vampire potential. I bet if you remove all of her protection, she will not be able to defend herself. If Monica and she were to fight, Monica will slash her two pieces.
Also, where was the connection Kim and Alexis have together? I am starting to feel that Kim is in denial and have not called love for Alexis. Alexis took a back seat to Paul. Alexis was missing in this story. What was his purpose for coming into book three? He had no special moment with Kim to even consider a special bond. They seemed more like friends than anything. I am trying to see if it is worth reading the next story. I was looking forward to reading this book. I just hate that in order to read part 3, I had to buy the collection. I already have a book one and two on my Kindle and did not need to have the other two, oh well.
The time is now 1:55am, and I have just finished reading a box set of incredibly awesome PNR/Multicultural Romance/Urban Fantasy books, that were seriously underrated and not to mention, underpriced.
Although it had a few editing quirks, this captivating read was chock full of delicious drama, snappy dialogue, and not to mention, panty melting moments of sensuality.
The one thing that I hate about having invested the time in reading these books, is that they're part of a friggin' series, and the next installment won't be available until Fall of 2015.
(Yo! Ms. Pace! If you need an additional Beta reader, please send me a pm☺ Pretty Please? With sugar on top?)
I am a huge Pepper Pace fan but I did not connect with Kim and her story. I read the first book and had to fight to get through it. There was no real story to grab onto. Kim is turned, falls "in love" with three different people, is sexually promiscuous and whines all the time. There was no real story about the council or any potential conflict that Kim would later become involved in. I couldn't see myself investing the time in books two and three. If you want an interesting vampire story try A Touch of Crimson.
Pepper Pace is one of my favorite authors. I have read everything she has published for the Kindle. This is not her best work. The books still need editing and in my copy I could see the markups (e.g. words crossed out). Those issues aside it is an engrossing and highly entertaining read and an even better value. I am looking forward to the next installment in the fall.
