Andrea Hyatt's book, Sophie Sparrow and Friends to the Rescue, with illustrations by Nicholas Child, is a touching tale. Sweet Sophie Sparrow and her endearing friends will educate everyone—not just the young—on the value of kindness, community, and cooperation.

The narrative follows Sophie as she learns of Cora and baby Charlie Cardinal's struggles when a storm destroys their nest. Sophie wishes to assist her pals after they lost their home, but she is devastated to learn that the stunning, enchanted Blue Jay, Miss Sapphire, has already moved south. What to do!?! The saying is "where there's a will, there's a way," comes to my mind. To assist in rebuilding Cora and Charlie's home, Sophie rallies her neighbors and friends.

Cooperation and empathy can be helpful during trying situations. Everyone can learn important life lessons about community and helping others from this wonderful story. My grandson and I buddy read this beautifully illustrated book and adored it!

Sophie Sparrow And Friends To The Rescue is a heartwarming, precious, beautiful, empathetic, special, and delightful read! This is the second book in the Sophie Sparrow series and it is a beautiful addition to Sophie's story. Her first book is full of magic, but this one has a magic all of its own. I adore the fantastic themes in this book. Thinking of others, service, bringing the community together, working together, and drawing on ones own strengths are all wonderful messages! Like Sophie our first instinct may be to look to someone else who has more magic, abilities, skills, or connections but we should never underestimate the impact we can have. I love this message of kindness and that Sophie is a self-starter!

When Cora and Charlie loose their home in a horrific thunder storm, the entire community is a buzz. Everyone feels bad for the family but no one knows what to until Sophie Sparrow has an idea! I love this book!

Heartwarming and wholesome, Sophie Sparrow and Friends to the Rescue focuses on kindness, compassion, community, and teamwork. After hearing of Cora and Charlie Cardinal's nest having been destroyed by a storm, Sophie gathers the feathered community works together as a team to help rebuild. The highly detailed, vibrantly colored, whimsical illustrations really caught my eye, and is perfectly paired with the story.

I plan to bundle this with the first book in the series, Sophie Sparrow Wants to Be a Flamingo, and put them in my Little Free Library, where it's sure not to last long! Author Andrea Hyatt's books are a favorite of both my visitors and mine!

What a delicious book! Every child will want a copy of this beautifully illustrated adventure where two cardinals, a mum and her son, are displaced from their nest by a storm. Then Sophie Sparrow and her friends spring into action. What can they do to help? If everybody works together, can they build the Cardinals a very special new home?
A lovingly told story with simple but strong messages about friendship and working together.
Highly recommend.
