Something witchy is happening in Grove Meadow.

With her sister Camila, she owns a cafe where they sell coffee, baked goods, and a potion or two. Known for their witchy town history, the Castillo sisters are Declan’s prime suspects. With Declan watching their every move, the sisters must work together to stop the summonings, clear their name, and still open the shop at 5 a.m. every morning. 2.5 🌶️

Something's Witchy definitely gave me Practical Magic meets Charmed vibes. I will say that given it had these vibes, mostly Practical Magic, it mostly had its own unique vibes. I appreciated that it included not only the magically gifted but also the mortals but also the plant family that was able to bring life to the magical family.

I have to say that this one took me a little longer to read through. At times I struggled to get into the storyline. I felt like I was missing something. Like the spark that I needed to stay hooked wasn't there for me. I needed that connection between the sisters to be stronger or for there to be something there. I felt like there was something huge missing in their relationship. I know there was a void missing because of their relationship issues but I feel like they could have used something to help strengthen their relationship in order to help further into the story.

I truly enjoyed Carolina and Declan's storyline. They were true soulmates or soul mirrors. I loved how Carolina was fast to guard her heart, but was also there to help Declan when he needed it. Caro made sure that he knew what they could never be, even though she knew what they could be. I couldn't help but hope they could be so much more than what she didn't want them to be. I knew that she wanted them to be what they had always been in previous lives, but couldn't help but try to save themselves from death and heartache. As soon as Declan knew he had no qualms about what he wanted. He wanted Caro, and all of her. No matter what he has to do he wanted all of her no matter what he had to do.

True Love wines out when you are more than willing to do whatever it takes to make sure that you are beside the one you love forever.

OH MY GODS THIS BOOK. This book is officially one of my top reads of the year. This was a fast paced, highly addictive, small town witchy mystery. I did not want to set this book down. I swear there were moments toward the end of the book where I was not breathing. The climax was intense and well paced. The whole book kept me speculating and guessing until the reveal.
This book is as if Practial Magic, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, and Sharp Objects had a baby. The mysterious foreboding small town mystery combined with talking familiars, and the cozy romance and witchyness of Practical Magic.
The main characters were so loveable and interesting. The setting was well described and familiar. The storyline flowed easily. It was equal parts mystery, fantasy, comedy and romance. My only complaint is that I didn't want it to end! I cannot wait to see what a sequel might bring to this incredible book. (PLEASE let it be a series!)
I feel so lucky to have been given the opportunity to ARC read and review this book. I'm going to need a physical copy as soon as they become available so I can read this again and again and again.

It is the first time that I read the author and I loved the way she writes. Easy to understand. Short chapters. With dual pov.

Carolina has suffered so much (Camila too) but I feel that Carolina did not open up to others and express herself as much as her sister. I loved her too much.

Camila is super sweet, smiling and the complete opposite of her sister. I definitely want to see more of her.

Declan oh Declan I'm totally in love with you. The man that you are. I don't have anything bad to say about him.

This story made me laugh, feel sad and angry. Something I liked was that it reminded me of the Charmed series that I watched as a child with my mom and sister.

The touch that the author gives to the Familiar of the Castillo sisters was everything for me. I want to know what happens in the next book since it ends on a cliffhanger.

“The day is gloomy, and a fog starts to roll in as we get close to town. I shiver, but it’s not from the cold. There’s something in the air, something I can’t quite place, but it’s there, lurking just beyond the edge of my senses.”

THIS WAS SO FUN!! I can’t believe I devoured it in a single sitting omg?! I never do that anymore hahahah. I felt like I was 12 again having to read a whole book under my covers with a flashlight so as not to miss a single beat.

Carolina and Declan are electric together! So much natural chemistry that they got to skip the awkward crush phase all together. I adored Cup & Cauldron and wish I could be a regular staking out to work every day. The only thing that would’ve pushed it to a 5 star would be more scenic descriptions like the quote above. I felt it lacked in that area taking out some of the Halloween/Autumn vibes for me. Other than that this book is magnificent!!

✨ARC Review✨

4.5✨

I have become such a huge fan of Sierra and her stories. I was not expecting this genre from her but I honestly loved it.

Right off the bat, I was super intrigued. I was pulled in by the plot and then the humor and characters kept me locked in.

Mortals are going missing and Detective O’Reilly is in town to find some answers. The Castillo sisters, who are known for their witchy pasts, are prime suspects. Declan and Carolina are going to figure out what's really going on, whether they acknowledge this magical pull they have towards each other or not.

I really did enjoy the plot. It was fun and spooky and thrilling. Sierra did a really good job fitting such a detailed story into 300 pages. I loved the humor. I loved the "solving a mystery" vibes. I loved the chemistry our FMC and MMC have. I loved the side characters. I loved the sister bond between Carolina and Camila.

I do wish we got a little more background with some of the heavier relationship storylines. Moreso with Declan and Carolina and Camila and Sam. I know there's a past with each couple but I just wanted to be in on it more.

Carolina has this whatever attitude which is actually just her keeping her walls up. She's sarcastic but she's funny. She comes across meaner than her but you soon realize why with the inner turmoil she faces daily. I really loved her storyline and I really enjoyed seeing her start to break down those walls when she gives in to Declan's friendship.

Declan was adorable. He's just a mortal man in a witch's world and it was funny. Something about him just came across so innocent and when he discovers secrets he doesn't show his fear, he's genuinely like "woah that's kinda cool". I can't explain it but Sierra just wrote him really well. I loved how genuine he is and how chill of a guy he is. He's alone and wants more when he realizes he can have more.

I really enjoyed the romance. I enjoyed the spice. I liked seeing these two grow and seeing their chemistry blossom. Like I said before, I would have loved more backstory. Maybe even past flashbacks just to get a better sense of how strong the connection would be. Regardless, I loved it.

I was also really vibing with Camila and Sam. I know it's in the past...but like, is it??
I also loved Luna and Silas. They were the comic duo we didn't know we needed. It was so wholesome and adorable but so necessary.

I loved that we get a little cliffhanger. It truly left me wanting more and I am so excited to read what's next!

This was such a pleasant read. At times even cozy. I loved the witchy vibes. I enjoyed the mystery solved moment that has me like "ahhh what's gonna happen?!" Definitely recommend!

Thank you so much Sierra Spencer for the arc copy!! <3

Something's Witchy By Sierra Spencer is a delightful magical mystery that is a marvelous blend of Practical Magic and Charmed. MFC Carolina "Lina" is very much a black-cat type character. She hides her heart behind her grumpy exterior for fear of getting hurt. In my opinion, she was a much more vulnerable character than her sunshine sister Camila. I liked Lina a lot, snark and all. Lina's love interest, Detective Declan O’Reilly, isn't a sunshine/golden retriever character. No, I think he's more of a black lab, loyal, thoughtful, and stubborn. He matches Lina's personality better than I expected with him being a cop. The attraction between them is a slow build but undeniable. What I liked most was that Declan took everything in stride. I don’t think Lina could have found a better match.

The plot was equal parts mystery and romance. Sierra has done an excellent job of combining small-town mystery with magic. Between coffee shops and road trips, familiars and magical powers, a prophecy, and missing people, I was really enjoying the story. Not only was I invested in finding out what was going on, but I kept waiting for the moment when Carolina and Declan went all in with each other. The wait was worth it. The moment was swoon-worthy with tears and big speeches, I loved it.

What a great twist! By the end, Serria had my heart beating out of my chest because I honestly did not know how the story would end. It was a wild ride that ended with a hint of what was to come next. Something's Witchy is a wonderful cozy mystery and just the start to what I'm sure will be an awesome series.

I was thrilled to receive an Advance Reader's Copy (ARC) of Something's Witchy, and I'm delighted to say it exceeded my expectations! As a fan of Charmed, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, and Practical Magic, I was eager to dive into this cozy romantic mystery.

I adored the blend of magic, mystery, and humor in this book. The characters are well-developed and relatable, making it easy to become invested in their lives. The author's writing style is engaging, and the pacing is well-balanced, keeping me hooked from start to finish.

Something's Witchy is a must-read for fans of witchy fiction, cozy mysteries, and romantic comedies. I'm excited to add this book to my physical collection and explore more of Sierra Spencer's works in the future.

I can’t quite explain why I loved this book as much as I did, but I really did. I’m a huge fan of anything witchy, and this story delivered exactly what I was hoping for. It had the perfect mix of cozy magic and mystery, giving me all the Practical Magic and Charmed vibes in the best possible way.

Is it a literary masterpiece? No. But it doesn’t need to be it’s fun, enchanting, and such an easy, enjoyable read. The plot is pretty predictable, but somehow that didn’t take away from the joy of reading this at all.

The ending leaves plenty of room for a sequel, so I do hope we get one. If you’re looking for a light, witchy escape filled with spells, sisterhood, and romance this is definitely worth picking up!

"I do not wish to exist in a world--a lifetime--without you in it."

A perfect combination of mystery, romance, and a little spice. In the small town of Grove Meadow, five people unexpectedly go missing and the Castillo witches are at the top of the suspect list. When Detective O'Reilly arrives to investigate, he gets more than what he bargained for. He didn't know magic existed and now he's caught right in the middle of it while trying to navigate a strange magnetic pull to Carolina Castillo. Fate isn't what it seems in this quick, magical read.

If I didn’t know that this was Sierras first paranormal romance I would have never guessed. This was such a phenomenal cozy witchy romance. There’s magic and mystery and suspense and romance! Declan was perfection and Carolina was such a badass. (I love her!) you definitely are going to want to read this one. Oh and don’t forget — this book has the most perfect animal familiars for their respective witches.

I got this as a first time ARC book! I’ve never read anything by Sierra Spencer before, so this was very exciting. I really enjoyed this story. I love a good witch story, and I think this had all the great elements of a cozy witch story. I do feel like the relationship with Declan was a little rushed, but it still felt pretty natural. It definitely had Practical Magic vibes. Also I was really able to relate to being half Mexican and feeling like you’re half in one world and half in another. I’m definitely going to read more books by her. Great story!

A cozy romantic fantasy- there were glimmers are great moments and world building in this, but overall I think it has the classic case of trying to fit too much into an average sized book. Or maybe it just focused too much on the romance to give anything else a fair shot.

Spice level:  🌶🌶

Something's Witchy is a witchy romance book with a small town cozy mystery as the plot. It's the perfect book if you like shows like Practical Magic, Charms and Sabrina, the Teenage Witch.

It was such an enchanting and cozy read and it was exactly what I was looking for. It really gave me the comfy feeling of watching witchy TV shows as a kid on a crisp fall day. The story was unique and really well-written. I loved the characters and their story. The way the author described the story made me feel like I was in Grove Meadow myself and the mystery part got me on the edge of my seat with all the unexpected twists and turns. I also really liked the used graphics in this book, like the newspaper front and the written spells. This really added something to the story. The book ended with a huge cliffhanger, so I hope there will be a sequal to this story.

Overall the story was a well-brewed potion with a great mix of ingredients like slow burn romance, witchy sisterhood, fated mates, who-dun-it, talking familiars, banter and a dash of spicyness ⚗️🧪

Fun fact: the book has it's own playlist, named: 'Something's Witchy' (you can find the playlist on Spotify). It's perfect to put this on in the background while you enjoy this book, so you can dulge in all the cosy and magical fall vibes ✨️

Favorite quote from the book:
"You still don't understand the extent of my feelings for you. Even now. To even call them feelings is a vast misrepresentation of the way my soul perfectly matches yours. I will always choose you. I've seen how good, how selfless, how pure you are, my love. I do not wish to exist in a world - a lifetime - without you in it."

4.5 - Stars

🌶️🌶️2 / 5
There is smut in this novel, but the language is detailed and there are three scenes. The plot is definitely more central than the romance or spice.

TLDR: This book is more plot than romance, specifically mystery/ investigation and I am not mad about it. This book was so much better than I expected! Would love to read a sequel!

Plot: This is a missing persons case being investigates by the town witch and the new detective in town. The witchcraft and magic in this book is super fun. One of the best parts was the familiars and their relationships with their witches. The cat in this has intense Salem from Sabrina the Teenage Witch energy which is the best. I also thought this book was going to be mostly romance, which I am fine with but as a lover of mystery and crime novels that part of this story was GREAT! It hung together well and I didn't see the plot coming which doesn't happen often for me. All in all a very fun and good book. High recommend to anyone who likes mystery and investigation novels but also wants a wholesome romance where the guy is THE BEST.

Characters: I love the entire main cast of this. The witch sisters are great, they are both so powerful but have reasonable limitations. I also love that the sisters actually love each other. Our main boy Declan I love. He is so down ad for Carolina and is is so good for me. This is my fav type of MC. He is also just sweet and caring while still being compliant. Also the familiars in this are a main feature and they are also great.

Worldbuilding: This is a relatively just normal smallish town setting that's a couple hours outside of NYC so there isn't a ton to say about this. But, the store this takes place in a lot is so cute and fun, its everything you want out of a cozy witch coffee shop. The underworld in this is also very fun, as a DND player it spoke to me, messes with time, and makes breathing and weight weird, generally I'm a fan.

✨… but there are still things in this world that may surprise you. […] When that day comes, remember, even the most powerful of witches can find themselves bewitched in ways they never imagined.✨

The Castillo sisters, Carolina and Camila, have always been outsiders and now find themselves to be the prime suspects in the disappearances of their local townspeople. Known in their little town of Grove Meadow as witches, or so the rumors say 😉, Detective Declan O'Reilly has no choice but to look to them as his investigation turns up that mortals are not just going missing, they are being summoned.

Something is coming and the sisters must work together to stop the summonings and clear their names, while keeping this strange pull between Carolina and Declan at bay. Why can't Carolina stop thinking about Detective O'Reilly? Why is her magic so drawn to him? Can they solve the mystery of the missing townspeople, uncover the truth about Carolina and Declan's past, and get their cozy café Cup & Cauldron open by 5a.m.?

✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨

I've been considering dipping into contemporary romance for a while but have struggled to find something that I feel like could keep my interest. I love reading fantasy and about magic in all its forms, so the idea of letting go of that to dive into something a little more "realistic" held me back. I wanted to find something that had both and bless the Cauldron, I have found it.

Something's Witchy checked so many boxes for me. From lovable familiars and an unbreakable bond between sisters to Sabrina, the Teenage Witch x Practical Magic vibes with open door spice, I couldn't get enough of this book. Sierra, please tell me you are blessing us with a second book!

Thank you to Authors Best Friend and Sierra Spencer for this incredible ARC opportunity. I will be screaming this book's name from the tallest tower until the end of time.

Something’s Witchy releases on 11.26.2024 and you’re silly if you don’t go preorder this now. 🥰

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/ 🌶️🌶️🌶️

I loved the Practical Magic and Charmed vibes this book held! Sierra wrote a beautiful story reminding readers that different is not scary, just different. As things begin to go very wrong in the novel’s small town, people begin to point fingers at things that they can’t understand. In this situation, those fingers pointed towards a pair of sisters who have witchy pasts.

Carolina (Lina) and Camila have a wonderful bond between the two of them. When they become prime suspects in the bad goings ons within their small town. When Detective O’Reilly arrives to investigate things get very interesting. There is an attraction between himself and Lina, but neither is quick to give in. Lina is our grumpy, black cat FMC, but at the same time, shows more vulnerability than most of these types of characters are normally written. As you get to know her better, it becomes obvious she is trying to keep her heart safe. Her and Declan compliment each other so well.

Declan is loyal, thoughtful, and stubborn. He meets Lina at everything she throws up at him. He is all human, not understanding the feelings he is having towards Lina, because they are strong. The slow burn between them is so good, that by the time it erupted, I was beyond ready for it. Sierra wrote them coming together so well. She balanced the plot line so well between romance and mystery, one didn’t overshadow the other. And the ending!!! I was not ready for it, but oh it was so good!

Highly recommend and I will definitely be reading more of Sierra in the future!

As always, review any author notes before reading.

"A Castillo witch trusts their intuition above all else."

Carolina is a 3rd generation witch along with her sister Camila. They own Cup & Cauldron in a small town in New England. Carolina's power is clairvoyance while Camila is more skilled with potions and being a healer. They live in the apartment above the business and try to keep a low profile because they are blamed for everything that goes wrong in their town.

Recently some town members have been discovered deceased and the detective on the case and the town's people of course blame the girls. A new detective comes into town, Declan, and he is drawn to Carolina. He doesn't think she is the main suspect but he has to explore everything after Camila's necklace was found at one of the victims homes.

Carolina begins assisting Declan after a vision shows he is going to be attacked. Her and her sister save him but the cost is Carolina seeing her painful past. The man with the blank face in her dreams is no longer a mystery. Carolina's 8ft python familiar and her sister cat familiar also sense that there is danger lurking nearby.

Esme, the family friend that supplies herbs and crystals, seems a bit off when Carolina and Declan pay her a visit. By then the truth starts to unravel and Carolina knows she is going to lose Declan like all their previous lifetimes together. She has to find a way to reveal a new outcome while keeping evil where it belongs. She can't handle losing her mirror soul in this lifetime too.

Thank you @sierraspencerbooks and @authorsbestfriend for my copy to read in exchange for my honest review. I'm very excited for the next book in the series!
