Jennings won 74 games before he was defeated by challenger Nancy Zerg on his 75th appearance. His total earnings on Jeopardy! are US$3,022,700 ($2,520,700 in winnings, a $2,000 consolation prize on his 75th appearance, and $500,000 in the Jeopardy! Ultimate Tournament of Champions). Jennings held the record for most winnings on any game show ever played until the end of the Ultimate Tournament of Champions (first aired on May 25, 2005), when he was displaced by Brad Rutter, who defeated Jennings in that tournament.

The rules are simple. You are given 5 questions to answer. Hangman style blanks are provided on the side as hints. If you want to increase the difficulty level, you can use the flaps on the book to cover them up. Once you’ve answered the questions, you are tasked with finding the common theme aka the kennection. Answers for questions and kennections are provided at the back of the book and are thoughtfully grouped separately so you won’t get spoiled by the kennection if you need help with the questions.
My husband and I are now addicted to this game and play it throughout the day. The questions range from easy to challenging. Surprisingly the kennection is often the easiest part to answer correctly whereas I might be stumped on a question or two for each group. It’s an entertaining game no matter your skill level. You can keep the book to yourself or have fun shouting out the answers with others.
Highly recommend for all the trivia buffs out there.

My husband and I are huge Jeopardy fans even though it makes us feel like our "parents" LOL. Going through this giant book of trivia, I could just hear Ken's voice reading the questions and even saying "No". Great fun and so good for my brain workout!

I have liked watching Ken Jennings on TV and pleased to win a copy of his book. It is a large book and will take me a long time to read and answer the questions.
There are 5 questions for each question set and they lead to a connection.

For anyone who likes trivia or Jeopardy, you'll like this. Nerds like me love this. There are 5 "clues" in each group. You have to solve the clue for each. The 5 answers are connected...kennected? somehow. You also try to solve the Kennection. Love this. 1000 of them. A little difficult in an ebook if you want to check your answers as you go, because answers are in the back and there wasn't a hyperlink to jump back and forth. Likely better in physical form.

Well put together, organized very well! Easy to understand directions, and lots of challenging questions & puzzles! And they left room to 'pencil in' & make notes, & also offer a hint to the answer......what fun!!! Fans of Jeopardy & trivia will really like this! Most of it is beyond my limited knowledge, but I sure do enjoy a bit of trivia.....& this is way more than 'just a bit'......it's a lot!! There's a wealth of information in this big book........& it's really easily accessible!

This has been so much fun! My bestie and I have become obsessed with working our way through this. I love the format and the sheer variety of trivia involved. Sometimes the Kennection is obvious, sometimes a head-scratcher, but mostly challenging yet doable. Despite its larger size, this would be a fantastic book to take while traveling. It's a great way to pass the time that only requires a pencil and not power and wifi.

The Complete Kennections 5,000 Questions in 1,000 Puzzles is a mind-blowing, fascinating, educational, captivating, and awsome read! This book was written by the famous Jeopardy host and is based on his online game. The the triva is so wild and really challenges your mind. Five questions have five answers that share a secret theme which adds to the challenge. All topics are covered; nothing is off-limits. This is a really awsome activity book for anyone who wants to keep their brain sharp, learn new facts, have some fun, or dominate trivia!

I want to thank Ken Jenkins and the publishers for giving me a copy from a giveaway. I’ve grown up with jeopardy with my grandparents and I’ve been slowly going through each question and kennection. They love the book as much as I. I’m only a couple of pages in and I love how much effort and thought was put in this book. I can’t wait to see if more get published. It is fun to get a group together and ask the questions but most are really hard. If you are a trivia fan you will love this book.

My, oh my! This puzzle book is so darn hard and totally fun. I pick it up and try a couple puzzles and feel delighted and so proud of myself when I Gey one correctly. There are five trivia questions in each puzzle. Once you answer all the questions, you then have to figure out the "kennections" between the answers. If you're a fan of the NYT Connections puzzles, you will love this book!

If you love trivia, puzzles, Jeopardy, or just a good brain teaser, you will love this book. Each Kennections puzzle has 5 trivia questions, then a broader theme (or "Kennection") that connects all 5 answers. I'm having fun working my way through these.

I'm a huge fan of Jeopardy, never miss an episode. And I am very fond of the job that the new host, Ken Jennings, is doing. So I thought that this book, offered to me as an ARC by NetGalley, would be a home run.
The book is broken down into sets of five Jeopardy clues. After you answer these, you have to deduce the "Kennection", or what the answers all have in common. Sounds simple, right? It turns out not be simple at all. The questions seem like something that might be asked in a Tournament of Champions game, they're pretty hard. Then to expound on those answers to come up with the "Kennection" is, to me, extremely hard.
I wish the editors had arranged the puzzles into Easy, Difficult, and Almost Impossible rankings. As it is published, I could not answer the majority of the questions, let alone come up with the "Kennection".
I believe that this book will be devoured by the very upper echelon of Jeopardy fans. People like Brad Rutter, James Holhauzen, etc. I think it will leave the rest of us feeling rather dumb. Come on, Ken, release a new version with answers for the rest of us!
