The kingdom of Tenuma has been left in ruins after a deadly attack that ended in the abduction of their princess, Bellatrix. In his grief-stricken state, Koen Archer has become unrecognizable in his anger, and his downward spiral begins to fracture all of his relationships. Only when the Queen approaches him with a plan to rescue Bellatrix does he begin to pull himself together for the sake of bringing her home. But can he set aside his anger to get to her in time?
Bellatrix’s life is in the hands of the evil king of Sperantia, and what he will decide to do with her is anyone’s guess. Just as she’s beginning to give up hope, she forms an unlikely friendship with the woman who’s been taking care of her in captivity that pushes her into action. Bellatrix has had enough of waiting to be rescued- she’ll figure out a way to escape and save them both. Using her pain and suffering as her driving force, she’ll stop at nothing to find her way back home.
They say time heals all wounds, but that’s a lie. Revenge does.
Absolutely loved diving back into the world of Tenuma. This is such a fun romantasy series!
This does cover some heavy topics and will pull at your heart!
However, definitely read if you’re into: -fantasy (with romance ofc) -dragons -bad ass female characters -women who save themselves
Jackie has done it again! This book completely sucked me in and I couldn’t stop reading. Read the last 70% in one night. The ending left my jaw on the FLOOR and I wanted to throw my kindle (with love) and I’m going absolutely feral for book 3 now.
So honored to be one of the lucky ones who got to beta read Jackie’s newest release before the rest of the world lays eyes on it. Especially because ya girl needed answers after that cliffhanger from book one.
And boy, do we get answers, plus so much more. There’s peril, a princess that rescues herself, a man who fights for her tooth and nail, kind friends, dragons that I quite frankly would like to pet, and stakes that pitch higher and higher as the book goes on. And that ending? All I can say is, I cannot wait for book three to be here. 🤯
Read if you love Romantasy without super intense world building, fairytale kingdoms and creatures, royalty romance, and badass women who take back their own lives with the support of a wonderful man.
Idk what Jackie puts in these books but as someone who doesn’t enjoy fantasy; I LOVED those books so much. I have loved watching the Princess’ growth and learn to speak up for herself throughout the series to become the eventual badass that she is. She has a man who loves her, desperate to save her when in reality she is capable of saving herself. I’m a sucker for a heroine that wants a man it doesn’t need one and Bellatrix is a great example of that. There’s 2 kingdoms that hang in the balance, a shitty mom responsible for SO much of the chaos happening, and a wild undead army left to deal with. It’s a lot to manage but it’s paced sooo well that for a novice like me it’s easy to keep track of. I already can’t wait for the next one!!
Jackie has done it once again. There is nothing better than being immersed in the world of Bellatrix & Koen, who has officially become one of my favorite book boyfriends. I’m picturing Henry Cavill (semi-Witcher-style) for the movie, just so you know.
This was seriously everything I wanted as a follow up to Soul Snatcher. It was amazing seeing Trix take back her power! And the way Koen loved her strength and independence - so much YES. I feel incredibly lucky to have been an early reader, and I’m already ready for MORE!
Also: a) I need a dragon and b) I will probably edit this with more thoughts later as it all sinks in.
Omg what a book?! The emotions. Our FMC going through the ringer but then taking back her strength & becoming the bad ass queen she was meant to be. Our MMC showing his emotions as well as his love for our FMC. The two of them admitting their love to one another and becoming King & Queen. But there are some character deaths that got me emotional. But to top it all off, it's left on a cliff hanger and I don't know when the next book is going to be released 😱
Have you visited the Kingdom of Tenuma yet? If not you're seriously missing out. Make sure you read the series in order to not miss anything! From the WOW-ING opening lines you will be hooked from the start!
Curse Breaker - book 2 - gives you a perfect recap of book 1. I LOVED that so much. Then we jump right back in where we left off. I love when authors have a way of just making you connect with characters so fast. I for sure did in this one. Not only did I deeply connect and appreciate their hearts then mine shattered multiple times. 😅 This was most definitely a heavier read and I was so happy about that lol. The action scenes were so vivid. I found myself speed reading through portions on the edge of my seat and making myself go back and re-read because I got overzealous and wanted to soak it in more haha. I say all that to say....pick this series up pronto! If you like romantasy at all these are must reads.
