Falling #2

London Falling

Rate this book
I feel things. Deeply. More so than most people.

Call it an empathic ability, call it whatever you want. It doesn’t change the fact that I am unable to love…at least not again. When you’ve had everything and lost it, there is no do-over. You can’t repair a shattered heart.

Instead of the pursuit of Mr. Right, I’m forever enjoying Mr. Right Now. It’s worked for me the last four years and will continue for the rest of my days.

Then I met him. Collier Stone. My sexy Englishman. He is everything I don’t need, but can’t deny wanting. His body, his sheer essence calls to that deep place inside me.

Doesn’t matter though. Regardless of how delicious his accent or how intense the chemistry that sizzles between the sheets, the simple fact remains. I will never give him, or any man, what they need from me.

My name is London Kelley and I will never fall in love.

4 1/2 stars & series read recommendation

The Reynolds sisters are plagued with bad luck. Their first big loves are either jerks or are tragically taken from them. Couple that with one beeeotch of a mother, and you have a recipe for unlucky in love. In London Falling, we are re-introduced to Aspen Reynolds sister, London (and yes, there is a story behind the names). We immediately learn that London has been widowed at a young age, around 22) and takes the stand that she’ll never be left heartbroken again.

“Life is not fair. The moment one believes in total bliss, it gets shredded by circumstance and unforeseen accidents. “

The story then flash forwards to London, 4 years a widow and a “love” em’ and leave em’ girl. Her approach to romantic relationships is simply to not have them. Now a Manhattan-ite in her mid-twenties, she follows an unconventional practice as an Interior designer. In the attempt to get to know the clients true needs in their home environment, she lives with and sometimes sleeps with (a.k.a has sex, gasp) with her clients. What makes this work for her professionally is that she is highly receptive to feelings and is always empathetic (the word to describe this intuitive nature and deemed by London as her “freak-o-meter”.), allowing her to design the right space for the right client. This empathetic nature rarely works for her on a personal level that is until she meets Collier Stone (a.k.a. double-o-seven).

But Collier isn’t her client and Collier & London’s initial meeting leaves her at odds with their connection. At the time of their meeting, London is living with her best friend and f*&$ buddy Tripp and her newest client. This is bad on so many levels as it allows her to spend most of her time using this as an excuse to how everything is fine and working perfectly, and allows her to avoid and fight her feelings for Collier, who has now deemed London “Beauty”.

Collier. Collier. Collier. Easy to describe. He’s gorgeous, sexy, rich, smart, and genuine - and all British Alpha male. He is living and working in his firms New York City office and has done his fair share of sleeping around. But, he is taken with London immediately and wastes no time in trying to woo her. He recognizes what they have. And he’s patient, almost too patient with London. I started to get antsy that she couldn’t take things further faster. The dialogue between Collier and his sister will make you smile and I thought that Ms. Carlan did a commendable job with use of British colloquialisms. It was easy to imagine Collier’s sexy voice and his sexy accent (and body).

So, what makes London able to resist Collier? Why would anyone want to resist Collier? Guilt. Guilt over how she feels with (not for) Collier and her eternal grief over her deceased husband James. Guilt leaves her fighting her connection to Collier. It’s beautifully and heartbreakingly described by London:

“I’d not felt connected to a man on that level since James, it was confounding. It’s the second when a man looks into your eyes and not only see’s your soul, but identifies with it, a rare connection of two persons who were fated to meet, to know one another intimately.”

Even recognizing this early on, London, wanting to treat Collier as she treats every other acquaintance, leads herself down a path where she makes some poor choices. These poor choices lead London to recognize that she is doing herself no favors and these become the catalyst for London finally “getting it”. But, will London “get there” in time? As intuitive as she is about others, she is equally oblivious to herself. What else holds her back? She’s enabled. Tripp, London’s f*&$ buddy, enables her to reject romantic relationships and genuine involvement. I spent most of the story angry with Tripp. He loves London, but his interests were always self-serving. And true to his nature, he “subconsciously” comes between London and Collier, setting us up for our moment of angst and the pivot point in the storyline. There are some moments of predictability where the premise “reaches” a bit but nothings so off-putting that I could find unforgiveable fault. Some mild eye-rolling, but I think once the story went a certain way, the outcome couldn’t be different.

Perhaps I shouldn’t compare, but I read the Angel falling and London Falling back to back. I think the comparison actually shows what a strong writer Audrey Carlan is and how in touch she is with her characters and the treatment of them. Where Angel Falling has some wittier, funnier dialogue (care of Olivers’ quips and Hanks’ caveman speak), London Falling has some amazing erotic sex scenes. If the author was trying to impart the empathetic feeling that London has with Collier, and I believe she was, she.nailed.it! These interactions were superbly written. The story, like Angel Falling is told in the alternating POV between London and Collier, leaving us with strong impressions of each of them and that we “got them”. Well I got Collier, or more honestly, I wanted Collier. I wanted London to want Collier more, which seemed impossible. But she holds back too much. I could get where she was coming from, even if I wanted her to get past it but I think her experiences in those 4 years were part of the process she had to go through. I kept hoping she would simply realize that maybe some grief counseling would suit her so she could just do as James wanted….fall in love again. You’ll have to read London Falling to find out how it happens, how she gets past it. There was a part of me that liked London Falling just a smidgen more.

Book 2 of the Falling series will leave you warmed up and charmed by the partners at Stone, Walker and Associates. I’ll give London falling 4 ½ stars and a high recommendation. I’m looking forward to Book 3, aptly titled Justice Falling, picking up with Colliers half-brother Nate Walker. I have chills thinking about it.

Favorite Quote:

“The fires burned scalding hot without hope of ever being extinguished with London. I craved her body, her taste and her scent almost like I was genetically predisposed to fall for her.”

My Review:

Another solid performance from Ms. Carlan for the second in her Falling series. Each book can be read as a stand-alone, and I fully appreciate that. I find that I do like continuing to read about the lovely characters I grew to adore in the first book, as they interact and add to the story of the second volume. This one had more drama, conflict, and angst, which is not my favorite thing in the world, although the writing is of good quality and the story is unique and interesting. And the sensual scenes sizzzzzle – I swear my kindle was smoking. I am already looking forward to number three.

Hot, hotter, hottest! Get ready for book two in the Falling series, as smokin’ hot or hotter than its predecessor, Angel Falling. London Falling takes the phrases “sexual tension” and sexual compatibility” to entirely new heights. That light-headed feeling you get after each romantic scene could be a lack of oxygen, they are that intense! Just breathe deep and read on!

London Kelley has loved and lost and to this day has vowed never to love again, but to seize the moment when “no strings attached” sex is offered. Successful as a designer, her outward façade of a woman who is strong and confident and always in control is all most people see. When a wealthy and handsome Englishman crosses her path, her shields begin to falter as he breaks down her defenses one kiss at a time. Shaken by the realization that she is may be losing her heart to the very sexy Collier Stone, London’s very foundations begin to rock. Can Collier break through her defenses or will London go running off in a cloud of smoke? A truth London cannot deny any longer comes when Collier’s life is in danger and he needs a miracle to survive. Could she be losing another lover to death?

Flat out, Audrey Carlan writes like a steam-powered locomotive on a mission to see how much one’s romantic heart can take. Each scene is manicured, tailored and buffed out to a dazzling shine until that keeps the reader hanging on every word.
Entertaining, intriguing, well-paced, and just enough conflict to believe in these characters, Audrey Carlan has done a fabulous job with London Falling.

I received a copy from Audrey Carlan in exchange for my honest review.

I was lucky enough to have beta read this fantastic book!

This second book didn't disappoint! I was worried that nothing could top that sexy Southern drawl of Hank's but, Collier's proper British accent comes SO close!!!

This book had every emotion in it from heat to anger and everything in between. Laugh out loud moments of happy to cry your eyes out heartbroken.
You will fall in love with London and Collier in this book, they are both amazing characters. One knows exactly what they want while the other needs a good solid SHOVE in the right direction.

This book shows you that no matter what, we are human and meant to love and be loved, whether we want to or not.

I was so happy to see that Ms. Carlan didn't forget about the characters from the first book. And, while they didn't have a HUGE roll, their stories were continued here.

Some unexpected things happen to keep readers on their toes.

Loved the book and can't wait for everyone else to read it and love it too! Already eager to read book THREE!!!

After the untimely death of her husband, London Kelley made a promise to herself that she would never fall in love again. Love only brought pain and hurt. Relationships were not for her. Collier Sloane was about to change all that. Collier was also jaded from the betrayal of his ex-wife. After a chance meeting and spending one incredible night together Collier was ready for more but London only wanted to run. Run from her feelings for Collier and the fear those feelings brought. Helping her sister to plan a wedding, her dependency on her best friend, Tripp and her job as an interior designer were not enough distraction from her thoughts of Collier. When she does decide to take a chance again she finds that it might be too late. Once again tragedy has struck but will there be time for a second chance? This was an excellent story about loss and the ability to love again. It is the second book in the Falling series and has a unique feel that separates it from book one but stays true to the series.

Ms. Carlan is one of my new favorite authors and I loved ‘Angel Falling’, the first in this series. This story focuses on London, sister to Aspen from the first book. London lost her first love and vows never to love again. When she meets Collier Stone, there is an immediate attraction but she tries to distance herself from him. And of course with all Alpha’s, they don’t take no and he pursues her. He falls almost instantly in love with her, even though he had a bad marriage experience.

Collier and his brother Nathaniel Walker, have a law practice. They are from England and decided about 5 years previously to move to the states. I wish I could hear their accents and there are several hilarious times when specific words or phrases, mean such different things between the ‘Yanks’ and the ‘Brits’.

I loved reading more about the characters from the first book and how things progress between couples, families, and friends. We get to see more of the interaction between Hank, Angel, and Oliver and they just crack me up!

London’s best friend is Tripp, and they met shortly after the loss of her husband and Tripp was struggling with drug addiction. They room together and have supported each other for several years. Collier is jealous of the closeness between Tripp and London, and he wants London to think of him as a priority.

I felt such empathy for London, still hurting from her loss, and unable to see that not all relationships end as hers did. Unfortunately, there is an event that takes her back to her loss, and she struggles with how she feels for Collier.

Ms. Carlan writes beautifully, has wonderful character development, and again, just a lovely romance. Of course, there is the one step forward/two steps backwards process in the relationship. I loved this story and this series. I am anxious to begin reading ‘Justice Falling’ to find out the latest on all of the characters. I highly recommend this series to anyone that loves romance.

Blessed or cursed? That is the question.

London Kelley is empathic, with the uncanny ability to read the emotions of those around her; so you would imagine that this would be a remarkable and exciting ability to have.

But tragedy fractured this vibrant woman’s soul; young and in love, fate choose to rip eternal happiness from her grasp, leaving behind only shattered remains.

So in light of her past, London decided to live a life devoid of commitment, doing everything in her power to deny her growing attachment to a sexy Englishman named Collier Stone. London is not opposed to casual; friends with benefits sex with this HOT as hell Englishman, but surrendering her heart will never be an option, and she has no problem making that abundantly clear.

However, fate isn’t finished with this vivacious, beautiful and exceptionally talented young woman, even knowing that further suffering could mean the demise of her fragile heart; and her sexy Englishman is persistent to a fault, especially when he has forever on his mind.

The second chapter of Audrey Carlan’s Falling series is even better than the first, and has this reader eagerly waiting for what’s next to come.

I was hooked from the very first page. A very inspiring story of two people who lost somebody they loved very deeply. I love how the author goes back and forth between male and female point of view. I love how the author phrased every word. It was beautifully written.
I would definitely recommend this book.**5 STARS**

4.5 STARS

I love a woman who isn’t afraid of her sexuality. London Kelley had it in spades and used it’s power. Unfortunately, she used this behavior to guard herself against love and against Collier . I thought the author did a great job portraying this in the first half of the book. Often times I wanted to shake London but I think it made the connection between both all the sweeter.
I thought Collier was the sweet and sexy English man who had a great sense of humor. He knew he was going to have to woo London. She wasn’t going to be his typical one nighter.
I’m glad we had some insight on Tripp and London’s relationship. I was excited to read more about them. What brought and held them together.
Besides their story we also got to reconnect with Hank, Aspen, Oliver and Dean. We were also reintroduced to Nate and met Emma.
Based on the extra chapter in this book, book 3 is going to be just as good.

4.5/5 ⭐️

London Falling
By Audrey Carlan
***** 5 STARS *****

"""Call it an empathic ability, call it whatever you want. It doesn’t change the fact that I am unable to love…at least not again. When you’ve had everything and lost it, there is no do-over. You can’t repair a shattered heart."""

London Falling, the second book in The Falling series by Audrey Carlan, continues the story line from 'Angel Falling' with the focus now being on London Kelley an interior designer and sister to the main character from book one, Aspen Reynolds.

As in book one Audrey Carlan has not disappointed me with her ability to bring the characters alive in the pages of this book. The key players are:
London Kelley - A successful, mid twenties, interior designer whose unconventional practices has made her the top pursued designer in NYC. A widow, at the tender age of 22, she is closed off to the idea of falling in love again and now keeps her emotions locked up preventing her heart to be broken again.
Next we have:
Tripp Devereaux - The tall, dark, handsomely gorgeous man who shares an apartment with London or "Bridge" as he calls her. He's a top notch model and London's assistant who happens to be a bisexual recovering drug addict. The two stumbled into each other's life when they both were at their lowest and now cling to each other for needed support.
And last but by no means least - we have:
Collier Stone - He’s the 30ish, English born and bred hot alpha male "James Bondish" type lawyer who just happens to be the smart, sexy, rich and a divorced playboy who women swoon over. He moved to NY with his half-brother Nathaniel Walker to start up the law firm of Stone, Walker & Associates. Their clientele are top notch and just happens to include Aspen Reynolds (London's sister).

So here we go - hold onto your seat - one incredible ride ahead -
WE start out with the opening prologue (the amazing prologue) that delves into the circumstances and events that led up to and caused the death of London's husband (James Kelley) which leaves London devastated, heartbroken and a widow at the tender age of 22. ""When he left me, I felt my soul crumble into miniscule pieces of nothing. James was wrong. I will never again be loved, because I’ll never, ever, let myself fall"".

OK - Now we fast forward 4 years:
WE have one hot sexy interior designer, London Kelley, who has this unique and truly unconventional approach to interior design. In her approach to understanding her clients needs she takes up temporary residence at their home and sometimes, yes sometimes, sleeps (has sex) with her male clients. Now with her very receptive nature and her empathetic ways she has been able to design the right space for each client, which in turn, has made her the top pursued designer in NYC. So with a waiting list a mile long her time is devoted to work and she has managed to avoid romantic relationships..............that is until.....................In walks the hot sexy lawyer - Collier Stone.

London meets Collier at a clients design reveal party that he just happened to attend with his half-brother, Nathaniel. Collier catches sight of London as she enters the room and POW instantaneously the pull is there. When they finally meet London's receptive ways has her feeling this man's unique pull and with the sparks flying London senses his magnetism. Trouble is about to brew here..................real trouble.

NOW we have London who shares an apartment (when not at a clients) with her best friend and ex-bed/sex partner Tripp, the over protective Tripp. She is just preparing to move in with her newest "male" client for 4 weeks but agree to meet Collier for a date. One date, no big deal, she can use her new client as the perfect excuse to avoid future dates and keep her feelings for this English "James Bondish '007" hottie tamped down......but..........

Collier pursues London - London treats Collier as she treats every other acquaintance - no romantic involvement. Collier pushing for more and London fights back. Problems develop as Collier turns London's perfect world topsy-turvy and to top it all off Tripp adds much unexpected and unneeded tension to the mix. Oh boy here we go and now we have this dynamic story beginning..................... No spoiler here.

What I will say is that, once again, Audrey Carlan has done it and this is how:
First - She has given me my needed fix to Hank and Aspen's beautiful story in 'Aspen Falling'. She gave me their wedding, the progression of Aspen's pregnancy and then the arrival of their baby. AND she did all this while intertwining it into the story line of London, Tripp and Collier.

THEN - As she so masterfully did in Aspen Falling with Hank's southern/caveman dialect and Oliver's gay lingo, she nailed the British "slang" used by both Collier and Nathaniel throughout the story. As Collier says “Actually, gob-smacked is a British slang term for amazing or astonishing.”

AND TO TOP IT ALL OFF - Her wonderful finesse of writing the story in the POV (point of view) of London and Collier was amazing. The way she imparted us with London's empathetic feelings towards Collier and then Collier's patient caring ways just draws you into the story line. Add in the drama (a lot of drama), the twists and turns, Tripp's not-so-nice demeanor and meddling ways, London's not-so-good choices, Collier's some-what-jealous disposition and ...OH YEA the hypnotizing hot erotic sex scenes that smother on the pages plus the OMG hot funny, got to laugh, (party - to thin walls, loud moans) sex scene and all this just makes for one GREAT story. Nailed it again Audrey!

My feelings are that London Falling is just as powerful a story as Aspen Falling and I will say that even though this book is part of a series - it is NOT a cliffhanger in any way shape or form...but ....for your total reading enjoyment read Audrey Carlan's first book 'Aspen Falling' (if you haven't already) you won't be disappointed. in doing so. And I, for one, will be in line to get her next book in the series 'Justice Falling' when it is published.

Great work - wonderful story line.

Meine Meinung

Title: London Falling

Series: Falling bk 2

Author: Audrey Carlan

Review: The story picks up where the first book left off as far as date in time and it centers around characters that we met in Angel Falling, Aspen and Hank's story. I love that London's book gave us just enough of the past characters to get my fix! And gave us a deeper look into the characters that will make up the upcoming 3rd book in the series, Justice Falling!

The prologue on this story is gut-wrenching and touching and it lays the foundation for us to understand why London will not let herself love again. I also think the feelings that are evoked from these few pages really show the depth of talent that this author has with words! Anyone who knows me will not be shocked that I cried my eyes out! LOL

You're rolling right along with this story, always rooting for your characters to end up together but at the same time understanding London's hesitancy and then understanding Collier’s frustration from her holding back... I enjoyed the addition of Tripp (London’s BFF) into the dynamic of London and Collier’s falling in love. Tripp was there with a shoulder for a confused and scared London and IMO he made Collier’s cool British façade crack with the spark of jealousy that Collier could not suppress. And then WHAM! The last portion of this book threw me a curve that I did not see coming!!! There we are again with emotions that came out in gasps and tears and made me turn the pages faster and faster to see what happened!

This story delivers all the laughter (think sex against a too-thin door at a dinner party), tears and HOT hot scenes (did I mention the sex against the door?) that this author gave us in Angel Falling. This story is a love story about the heart and souls ability to open up and love again. This story should make you sigh a happy sigh and smile about the HEA that is becoming a trademark for Ms. Carlan’s work!

Grade A+ read!! It was such an honor to beta and receive an ARC of this book from Audrey and I will anxiously wait for the next book, Justice Falling, to blow me away as well!!

***THIS BOOK WAS GIVEN TO ME IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW***

London Falling is the second book in the Falling series and I’ve had the pleasure of reading both of them. London is the sensitive and intuitive sister of Aspen Reynolds, the main character in Angel Falling. London has been hurt before-losing her one true love to a car accident when she was 22. James died because his kidneys were too damaged from the accident to keep him alive and no donor could be found. When London lost him, she vowed never to love again.

Years later now, she meets Collier Stone. He’s British, and with his half-brother Nathaniel, owns a successful law firm that represents Aspen. London meets Collier at a reveal for a renovation she did for a client and the attraction is instantaneous. Collier pursues her, but she won’t let him have more than her body.

Collier, for his part, is ready to settle down, particularly when he meets London for the first time. The book follows their burgeoning relationship as they go through misunderstandings and very hot and steamy sex.

Overall, this was a good book. I actually enjoyed it more than Angel Falling because this book focused more on feelings than on ONLY the hot and steamy sex. However, there were a few things that left me unable to give it five stars.

First, Collier’s overuse of slang. He’s British, and so I wanted there to be some sexy British banter. There’s a reason why Hugh Grant, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Clive Owen are super hot. It’s the accent! But since Collier is a lawyer and a successful one at that, winning very high profile clients with ease, I don’t think he should be using quite as much slang in his everyday speech. Much like Hank’s speech in Angel Falling, the slang was dialed up to an 11 when it should have been kept to an eight.

Next, the ending. There’s a happily ever after. That’s the only overt spoiler I will give you, but I thought that the way it was done was a little too cliché and telegraphed. I knew what was going to happen the instant the two of them left the ranch.

That said, the two main characters were both flawed, made mistakes, and then learned from their mistakes. They worked well together as a couple and as individuals. The novel was very well written and edited, with few technical issues and it had my requisite elements. Smart woman. Hot and smart alpha man. A good supporting cast and a satisfying (if predictable) ending.

5.5 amazing stars

This book was given to me for my honest review

Get your supply of tissues ready for this heart wrenching journey.

“Your taste” lick “It’s like mmmm” lick “the most decadent dessert” Collier to London

London-(aka Beauty) smart, beautiful, admirable, sassy, confident and scared

Collier-handsome, sexy, hot, sex on a stick and lawyer

Tripp-best-friend in love with London

James-the only man that London ever loved but has died

London is a widow that lives life on the edge. She is a home designer by trade and she admits to sleeping with some of her clients the ones that she sees worthy. With a no-strings attached rule, no sleeping in their bed when the deed is done so is she. Life has been cruel and harsh to this sexy vixen. She has gone through some of the worst that life has to offer her. The love of her life was taken from her after an accident. She vowed to him (James) that she would open up her heart again when the right man came along but to no avail no one has captured her heart or her spirit till she shakes the hand of the man that sends sparks to her entire body. (Collier)

Collier is the man that has the golden spark. He is definitely sex on a stick. He has been hurt in the past but does not let the past get the best of him. When he shakes the hand of a beauty all he can think about is the sparks that are going through his body. He knows that this beauty feels it too. But, can he get the beauty?

Collier and Beauties journey reminds this reviewer of the story book Sleeping Beauty because of the waking of demons the lie within London. They both feel the feelings that have stayed dormant for so long within each other. But can these feelings that are waking up be the best for both of them? Will the feelings come alive and let them live and love again?

The author did was amazing job with this second book in the series the first is Angel Falling. The sex is erotic and blazing hot. You will cry and you will laugh. You will be saying “oh no they didn’t” but they did and you will be erupting in laughter and cries. This author leaves you happy and wanting more. This author gives you everything you could possibly want in a romance book and then some. Major grrr at times but well worth the read.

A fantastic anytime read.

Oh and let’s not forget you get to go to a wedding. But who’s wedding do you get to attend? You have to pick up the book to find out. This reviewer is not gonna tell you so ha ha ha

Happy Reading

Received in exchange for a honest review.

This is the second book in the falling series and I enjoyed it but it didn't grab me as much as Angel falling. why? First London didn't really work for me. I found that yes I could empathized with her due to her past but that didn't excuse her from the actions of now. She was a wee bit selfish and collier didn't deserve her attitude.

I missed all my Ollie time too. The characters from the first book are in this second of the series as well. Hank and London's sister Aspen are getting married and London meets Collier.

collier falls head over heals for London. Thinks she's the bees knees..pfffttt I say pfffttt..she needs to grow up more and see that her actions affect others. She does in the end but at a near devastating price.

This is the love story of Collier stone and London Kelly. A stormy one too. Sometimes you wonder if they will make it. The other characters showing up helped to bring some brevity to this stormy love story. Collier dude you so didn't deserve all that happened to you but I am glad you get your HEA and that you and London's best friend become close. I mean the sacrifice he made is incredible.

A stormy but entertaining love story that keeps your attention from page one.

Meine Meinung

Vorab
Es handelt sich hier um den 2. Teil der Finding us Serie.

Ist mal was anderes.

Ms. Carlan you have done it again!! Major home run with this one! I am so in love with the sexy Englishman also known as Collier Stone. Holy moly she wrote him perfectly. I felt like I had a very vivid picture of what he looks like and all his sexiness. London, I felt so much empathy for after learning what she went through with her husband and you find that out in the prologue. It straight up ripped my heart out. Tripp took me a minute to really feel but once I did I really enjoyed his part in the story as well. I just don't think anything could top my love for Collier though. He is one I would absolutely want in my life. I also love that Hank and Aspen as well as Oliver and Dean from the first book were carried on into this one. It was great knowing that even though Aspen and Hank's book ended their story didn't end at all. I can't wait to read all about Collier's brother, Nate in the next book Justice Falling. If it is anything like the first two it will be another favorite for sure! This is a big 5 AMAZEBALLS stars for me!!!

London Kelley isn't your ordinary Interior Designer. She moves in with her clients for a month to get a feel for what they need. A new bed, a new couch, get laid. She does it all! No strings no relationships and only temporary. It wasn't always like this for London. She had her soul mate. Her happy ending, but he was taken from her and she closed off her heart. Then she met Collier Stone. Will she be able to love again? Will she lose him too? This is a beautifully written story. Two people who had been hurt in previous relationships that caused them to close off their hearts to everyone. Together they have a chance to heal each other and find love again. I loved how the author changed the point of view in her writing. When the scene had important decisions made by a character that character told the story. I enjoyed that, because I was able to get a feel for both there internal struggles rather than just one throughout the story. If you like second chance stories this one is for you.

This story is a tale of a woman who has suffered a great loss of her true love and hopeless on ever sharing her heart and soul with anyone again. That is until she meets a British Lawyer who wouldn't take no for an answer.

Through all of the ups and downs of this romance, there is celebration going on among close friends and family. Careers that are taking off, successes and failures in all of the characters in this book. Some moments I was happy, others I was sad, others I was in awe of the passion, and others I was laughing.

I didn't find it as steamy as Angel Falling, but felt more emotion and character from all of the people in the book including Aspen and Hank from Angel Falling.

This book can be read by itself without having read Angel Falling, but I would recommend both to any reader. You will not be disappointed!

This second installment is now focused on Aspen's sister, London Kelley and Collier Stone and how there love came to be.

I love how this story progressed because both characters had a dark past in their lives. Though, one was ready to move on the next chapter, the other was not. London was a very YOLO chick with her best friend and ally Tripp Deveraux and was not ready to settle down anytime soon but with Collier, everything she believed or tried to believed changed. During the story there is some tension between Tripp and Collier and London is in the middle of it all. But after an uneventful accident, alliances will be forged and new realities will be seen.

This is quite similar to Chained by SK Fordham .

Also we get to see parts of Aspen and Hank's relationship in this story and believe me. . . Hank will make you love him all over again!

London Falling is Book 2 in Audrey Carlan's Falling Series, and I loved it as much as Angel Falling.

London Kelley lost her husband after a tragic car accident. Since then, she uses men for what she needs and has vowed to never let her heart get involved again. Collier Stone sets his sights on the beautiful young widow and is determined to make her his.

I love that each book in the Falling series CAN be read as a stand alone, but really compliment one another when read as a series. London Falling gives us a brand new story, but we get updates on Aspen & Hank's relationship too.

I'd definitely recommend giving this series a read. Audrey Carlan knows how to bring the heat!

So Audrey Carlan hit it out of the park once again with book 2 of the Falling Series...Love this author!! Not only does this story hit all the romance and hot steamy sex that you expect from Audrey but she puts a spin on the leading lady and for me, that's important! So many books have the same love story just different era, city or different colored hair. Audrey puts a modern twist that's not so conventional but still keeps the romance that two people share and that keeps you motivated to read more. Not to mention the British accent that Collier has can make you imagine he's talking straight to you...ahhh dreamy!! Can't wait for the 3rd book!!!!

Read this book!

I chose five stars as its the highest rating and this book deserves a lot of praise.
I fell in love with both of the main characters from this and loved how despite their past stories they managed to find each other. Collier is by far one favourite lads.
My favorite part of the book is when all the friends gather at Nate's, then Collier and London get caught by being too loud. That defiantly made me laugh. I LOVE how all the stories combine and fit together perfectly.
Couldn't recommended reading any of Audrey's books more , they all have a little of everything and certainly make you count down the hours until you get your next fix!

Starting out, this book nearly brought tears to my eyes...and I am not a cryer! This author writes AMAZING emotion. I loved, loved, loved Collier, such a wonderful sexy man. I wanted to kick London's ass a time or two despite her struggles. The sex is very hot, the connection between these two lovers sizzling. I will never look at another movie theater the same way again...at least not without thinking of this book!
