God With Us, Immanuel: An Advent Devotional Through the Lineage of Christ is by Carol Tetzlaff and a collaboration of authors was the perfect way to journey through the Advent season. Each devotion—beginning with a passage of scripture concerning someone in Jesus’s lineage (Matthew 1:1-17)—pointed readers to the prophetic, proof-filled coming of Christ. Filled with personal, applicable stories from the contributors, every reading ended with a “practice, prayer, and promise”—helping make the devotions personal for each participant and prepare her heart for Christmas. I loved this book and will read it again for the Advent season as I walk through the hope, peace, joy and love that’s only possible with… JESUS!
