This was a fantastic read. I got to read a few glimpses of books I have yet to read, and books that I have read as well. I like that each story is different from ya, na, and adult. It was very interesting to see each story and how each character met each other and fell in love. Some stories were heartbreaking, while others were just romantic. Thank you to Atria for this sampler. It was great to read. Now going to read Crave, another sampler from Atria.

What can I say I am a SUCKER for romance and this..this sampler had everything in it. Only the fact that I got to read the first couple of chapters of Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover and Beautiful Oblivion by Jamie McGuire was more than enough for me.
I already read Unteachable by Leah Rider last year which I loved loved loved loved and was my favorite book of the year.
Now I am looking forward to 7 more books. I simply cant wait.

I never read samplers but I loved this one! It opened my eyes to amazing books I've never read before and I so glad I read them! It gave me bits in pieces to amazing stories that are now high on my to read list. Many new authors to discover, many new story to read! Great read!

Just A Touch

This book is a collection of novels that is perfect for the reader that is looking for new books. This collection allows the readers to be exposed to amazing authors and hot steamy novels at the same time. I love each book in this collection and have either already read it and own it, or I purchased the full novel or pre-ordered it. This is also a great way to introduce friends to the romance and new adult genre. Personally, I love each one of these authors and I am a huge fan to all of them.

Sweet Thing
Will and Mia's fate are destined when they are seated next to each other on a flight home to New York City. Will is a beautiful, sexy musician crying his guitar and Mia's alarms sound knowing that he is a struggling artist with no real hopes and dreams. However Mia can't hide her love of music once the two start sharing stories. This brief encounter teaches them that the journey of life is not about how you travel it, but with whom you travel it with.

I loved this book so much, I bought it immediately and read it along with the follow up novella before continuing on with Just a Touch. 5 stars.....


Ugly Love

I already want this book now after reading the short teaser. Tate moves in with her pilot brother, Corbin, in order to get her masters in nursing. The day she moves into his apartment, she meets his friend Miles. Of course, Miles is passed out and drunk at the front door. She manages to get both of them situated into the apartment, but shortly realizes he is not only drunk but heartbroken.

Already preordered my copy........can't wait!


Beautiful Oblivion

Cami is set to spend a weekend away with her out-of-town boyfriend, when he calls her to cancel again. His pathetic excuse that his job is calling him way again. Cami is pissed and seeks comfort in some shots and her best friend, Regan. Little does she know a Mddox brother is going to show up at her table and make her night more interesting.

I am looking forward to more Maddox brothers........just preordered this one as well.

One of my all time favorite reads. Be prepared to read an emotional roller coaster that will turn your world upside down and break your heart. You will never look at beer caps the same and you will fall in love with Gavin Blake. Seriously, set time aside so you can read both books back to back.

Sweet Thing...hooked me from the beginning, so I go to Amazon to "one-click"...IT'S $8 for an E-BOOK!!!! Really $8 for a download. I guess I'll skip and wait for drop in price.

Rush Too Far part of a series. I liked the two books I read, but not a ton of interest in reading this one. My TBR is filled with books that I'm more interested in reading.

Ugly Love full book is not due to come out until 8/2014...

This book is an exerpt of some amazing reads. It gives you a bit of each story to help you decide to purchase the whole book or not too. Which I love the idea. All books are available for order via AMAZON and i made comments next to each one I one clicked <3 You get a few chapters into the book..which i tend to hate because its mostly the first few chapters before everything gets really good!

Rush Too Far by Abbi Glines ( already bought ) -everyone thinks they know how Rush and Blaire fell in love but Rush is back to tell his story

Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover (already bought ) - hearts get infiltrated. Promises get broken. Rules get shattered. Love gets ugly.

Beautiful Oblivion by Jamie McGuire (already bought ) -- Cami and Trent story <3

Unteachable by Leah Raeder (already bought ) hands down the best book ive read in the last two years. I love everything abou this. Teacher student romance

Collide by Gail McHugh ( want to read) -- true love until a new person pops up

Jane’s Melody by Ryan Winfield--this book didnt do it for me however damn near all my friends have this as a 4-5 star book..I think I will need to get into the entire book to judge it!

Overall this is one of the best samplers made!

I love, love, LOVE this! The Just a Touch Indie Author Sampler by Atria Books is so much better than any amazon-sample-option there is.
I know that for some this might be old news, but I also know that there are a lot of readers out there who have never heard of this, so I figured - hey, why not share, even if it is from last summer?!

This sampler provides you with what could only be considered luxury reading samples - extracts from ten books, all of which contain more than just one chapter, featuring some well-known authors as well as some that you might not have heard about yet. I absolutely love the concept of this sampler; not only is it free, but it gives you the unique opportunity to start reading a book in order to determine if it's your cup of tea - if you would like to go ahead and purchase it to read the whole book. In this case, I have to admit that the extracts made me want to read them all - it just helped me to figure out in which order!
(Some of the featured books I was familiar with prior to reading The Atria Indie Author 2014 Sampler, others I decided to add to my To Be Read-List thanks to it.)

I hope Atria will continue making and providing this kind of samplers, as they are highly appreciated by readers from all around the world!

This book is a brilliant idea, and I really enjoyed having the pleasure of reading it!!! I am new to the whole contemporary side of things, and never really new what tips of books I would be into if I ever got started to reading them. This book mad things so much more easy for me to figure out what I want in the contemporary field!!!! This book has a total of 14 different books, bye 14 different authors in it. All the stories are contemporary, but in different sections ( like love, hate, cowboy, death ex). So it really gives you a feeling of what is out there, and its a lot easier for you to choose what you are into ( its way better then having to guess, and be wrong)!!! Each author has one to two chapters in this book that you can read. I know it does not seem like much, but they pick really great chapters, and it gets the message across!!! It was enough for me to decided if I liked the book or not, so I do think this is a great choice of anyone who is just getting into contemporary such as my self :D. I gave this book 4 out of 5 stares, because there were a couple of chapters that were not all to my liking, but im sure that happens. It sucks that the one I really did not end up liking was the very last one, but oh well lol. Over all i really enjoyed this, and I know what complementary's I am going to pick up next!!! I would not have been able to do that with out this book so that is exciting stuff!!! I look forward to my up coming contemporary reads :D.

Just a taste...and it's enough to piss you off! And I don't mean that to be negative in any way. I really want to purchase Sweet Thing by Renee Carlino, Collide by Gail McHugh, Working It by Kendall Ryan and Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover. Those were probably my favorite.

I did purchase Beautiful Oblivion by Jamie McGuire, and did leave a review, but that book confused me so much I don't know that I'd buy anymore of the books in that series. I purchased Rush Too Far by Abbi Glines and left a review on that one. I didn't enjoy it as much as the books from Blaire's point of view, but it was still nice to get the story from Rush's side.

Jane's Melody, although the first couple chapters were written well, is just going to be a little too much for me. That one will be a tough one to read, so it will most likely make it on to my reading list, but at a future date.

I wish I had just a little more of Five Ways to Fall. I believe it is part of a series by this author, so I might have to start from the first book in that series to get a better overall feeling about it.

Desert Heat by Elizabeth Reyes seems like it will be a good story, but I would have liked maybe one more chapter on that one as well.

Overall, this was a good teaser and it did give me a chance to read the beginning of some stories by authors that have been on my to be read list for a while.

I have read and enjoyed many of these books, so it was exciting to get a little appetizer from some of my fav authors: Renee Carlino, Abbi Glines, Leah Raeder, Ryan Winfield, and the list goes on. But I have to say, my main reason for picking this up was for the sneak peak of Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover! She is by far one of my absolute favorites of all time; her work is magnificent and never disappoints. The snippet we got of this story, has me all excited for whats to come! I can hardly wait until August! The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is that I didn't get enough, I want MORE please, lol! If you have not experienced any of these authors, please pick up this little jewel to wet your appetite for some delicious reading!

This collection of ten contemporary samplers had me reaching for my Goodreads app on several occasions, desperate to add the books to my TBR. With authors such as Colleen Hoover and K.A Tucker, you'll be sure to find something you want to read in this collection.

Samplers are one of my favourite ways to find new books to read and this one in particular housed some of the best-sounding contemporary books of 2014. Getting to read a little bit of the book gives you just enough to make you want more and discover new authors as well as authors you may have already read before. I'd definitely recommend picking up this sampler collection if, like me, you like a sneak peek before you invest your time in a new book.

Ok for this book the title is literal. You get just a touch or glimpse of the story. It is a compilation of glimpses by some of what I would classify as the best authors out there right now. How can you go wrong with names like Glines, Hoover, and Mcguire, just to name a few.

I'm not sure whom I would recommend this book to. Perhaps someone who isn't sure what they want to read next or someone who simply loves what these authors have done so far and are simply anxious to get a little inside track to what is coming. I fall in the latter category myself.

This is the best way to sample a ton of authors in one book. You get "Just a Touch" of the story, but it makes you want more! I have added several books by some of these authors to my To Be Read List. I like this kind of preview so I can see if I like how the author writes. Some of my favorites were Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover

I loved the sample of Sweet Thing by Renee Carlino since this is an author that I hadn't read before. Due to this sample I was intrigued enough to read another book by this author.

After reading this sample I plan on reading all of these great books by these amazing authors.

Just A Touch: The Atria Indie Author 2014 Sampler is just what it says "A Sampler" I was really excited to get it though because I wanted to read the sampler for Jamie McGuire. I think this is a great little book. it give you a taste of other ( enough to get you hooked!) Authors so you can see if you like their writing style. Now I wouldn't pay for this sampler. but I would totally get it for free.

Great variety. I enjoy the voice of independent authors. There is no expectation and complete open mindedness. Not perfect but great start. Look forward to more anthologies. Definitely not my genre but why not, I thought ?
