Imagine yourself sitting in front of a crackling fire, a soft blanket wrapped around your shoulders, sipping a cup of tea or cocoa, listening to the story of how your own grandparents met, fell in love, and navigated life committed to each other. That is what reading A Love Story in the Time of the Great War feels like. Knowing that Doris and Philip were real people and that the author is sharing their true story makes it that much more special. A wonderful read. Warm and comforting, a love story that transcends generations.
