To protect her family and find a killer, Felicia "Lucky" Fascino assumed her adoptive father's identity and joined the network of moral assassins to finish the job he began. Eliminating the man responsible for murdering her mother has consumed her for the last five years. Completing the job is the only way Lucky and her family can return to a safe and normal life. Lucky's uncle, Stephen Chambers, hasn't come close to tracking the killer. He announces he's stepping down as her handler to concentrate on the investigation and names Elizabeth, his daughter, as successor. Keeping secrets is a family trait, and Elizabeth's addition to the business tests Lucky's ability to maintain the pretense that the job doesn't affect her despite the fact that all network hits are hardened criminals.
While keeping her family at arm's length, Lucky begins to feel the weight of her career choice and reclusive lifestyle. Then a chance encounter with an enigmatic hit man during one of her jobs turns into a provocative and dangerous affair. Distracted by the secret trysts with Kenji Zinn and mounting tension within her family, Lucky starts to make mistakes that threaten her livelihood and almost claim her life. When her family is targeted, Lucky must make several rash decisions she believes can save them and preserve her own sanity.

I was riveted to the pages as I was drawn into Lucky's world. I couldn't put the book down I wanted to know more. I highly recommend this book and I highly applaud Jenn Nixon on this amazing novel. This is Exceptional book that will keep you guessing and asking for more like me.
i like this girl. another bad ass female lead, but this one is almost like a robot. so focused on her mission that she doesn't and can't see what is going on in the one area of her life she has always neglected. and i love more how when presented with the information to change that, she is shocked that everyone is aware and deals with it. I like the love affair that she has herself into. a perfect match with the one that understands the most
Jenn Nixon pens a romantic thriller featuring 30-something professional assassin Felicia “Lucky” Fascino, a moral assassin who only takes jobs that align with her ethics. When she’s not bagging the scum of the earth, she’s trying to make sense of her past. Her already complicated life gets even moreso when she meets and falls in love with another assassin on a job, and the two decide to make a go of things in the world of cloak and daggers.
In general the prose was very clear and enjoyable. The action is well-written and believable. One thing that the author did very well was keep an introvert like Lucky from coming across as whiny or moping, despite a tragic back story that fueled her motivations. I think the story stayed ‘safe’ for most readers (more on that below) so depending on how you like your moral conundrums, it’s easy to sympathize with and follow the heroine.
I don’t read a lot of thrillers like this - I’m more familiar with grittier, more military-style take downs, whereas Lucky uses both excellent marksmanship and her wiles to manipulate her targets into position. The heroine is generally street smart and capable, as well she appears good to be reading people. A complaint I had would probably be that there was no grey moral ground regarding the jobs she takes. Lucky’s Charm almost struck me as a step below the more glamorous James Bond world – you may not like what she does, but you really don’t feel bad about the targets. There are handlers, intelligence reports, but Lucky isn’t living the high life – she’s paid well for what she does, but it’s not all cocktail dresses and luxury cars. Another, smaller complaint is that Lucky spent a lot of time contemplating her ethnicity – and at one point in time, she puts on a wig and “transformed into Pocahontas” – and I know what the author was going for, but it rubbed me the wrong way. There’s passing and there’s being a member of that culture. That also being said – if she’s exclusive enough to do less than a dozen hits a year, I think she can afford an ethnicity test if she was really that curious about her roots. As a romantic thriller – I liked that Lucky was in with a guy but she prioritized her job first. While those of you who want to be present when the lovers go down might be a bit disappointed, but I thought the sequences were well done.
This is the first book in what appears to be a series.
**Received ARC from Author in exchange for an honest review**
Wow. I wasn't too sure what to expect when I first started Lucky's Charm, but I definitely could never have imagined the story that was contained in its pages. I'm always fascinated by stories about women who take on characterstics or perform jobs usually accredited to men. I find the twist to be intriguing and that alone will keep me hooked.
The opening scene puts the reader right alongside Felicia "Lucky" Fascino as she's on assignment and scoping out her latest target. In my opinion, that first chapter was pure genius and if that doesn't pull you into the story I don't know what will. So kudos to Ms. Nixon for grabbing my attention within seconds of opening the book. I must also commend the author on the amazing way in which she built up Lucky's character. I felt like I could really connect with her and understand all of her quirks and what makes her tick. And the fact that she's a total badass doesn't hurt matters either.
Through her multiple assignments, we learn more and more about Lucky, her personality, techniques, morals and her ultimate mission in life...avenging the death of her adoptive mother and discovering who put the hit out on her father, her namesake. Although the last thing the original Lucky wanted was for his daughter to join the network, her military background and need for revenge has supplied her with the ammo she needs to pursue both vendettas. I was an absolute bundle of nerves every time she took on a new assignment, wondering if this was going to be the time something went horribly wrong. I may have forgotten to breath a couple times, the suspense was that potent.
I have to admit though, I was not a fan of Elizabeth (Bet) but I did love Uncle Phen. I don't know what it was about Bet that just put me off. I think maybe she just pushed too much and came off as self centered. Even though she grew up with knowledge of the network and her father prepped her to take over I still feel like she really doesn't know what she's getting herself into. I guess it's a learning process. Bet does have quite a strong personality though, so I can definitely see her turning the tables and becoming equally as badass as Lucky.
All in all, I really enjoyed Lucky's Charm and I can't wait to read the next book in the series, Lucky's Break. If you're in the mood for an action packed mystery/suspense read that'll keep you in awe, then this is the book for you!
Although, a book about a hit woman is a bold idea, I had a little problem understanding the main plot. But, even so, each time Lucky had to go out on a job, I found myself eating up the pages like the first meal of the week. Now, just looking at the title of the book will give you a feeling of something trivial, but get into the story, you'll find an ingenius explanation, and no trivialities whatsoever. The ending threw me completely - so much so, I'll be walking around for a couple of days shaking my head thinking - why did she do that? I was very impressed with the author's descriptions of places - cities - towns. It all left me wondering about this young author's travels. But, that feeling you get when you've read something that pulls you in - when you're living the main characters life; when you walk around for days as if it was all a part of your own life? This book will definitely take you there. I'm hoping we will, and am definitely looking forward to more adventures with Lucky.
This book quite literally begins with a bang, opening with an assassin’s eye view through the scope of a sniper rifle. Within a few short paragraphs we experience the excruciating tension of a trigger finger waiting for a window of opportunity measured in fractions of a second, a meticulously planned but still heart pounding getaway, and a spur of the moment random act of kindness, all of which tell us volumes about our heroine. And as with any good thriller, the action and tension rarely let up through the course of the novel.
The assassin at the center of the tale, Felicia “Lucky” Fascino (who is not, as I’d expected from the cover, Irish) is as engaging and fascinating a hired killer as any in the subgenre. Like McCarthy’s chillingly unreadable Anton Chigur or Forsyth’s coldly efficient Jackal, Lucky is a killer with a strict code of conduct. Unlike them, however, she is not a cypher without friendships, family ties, or a personal life outside of her profession. While an expert at her job, she is still quite clearly and sometimes painfully human, with all of the complexity and baggage this entails. Comparisons to other female assassins are inevitable, but Nixon’s protagonist does not fit into any stock character mold, and is a refreshing addition to a list of deadly women who are far less numerous in written fiction than they are in film.
There are many elements common to the genre, the more so since this novel is nearly as much a romance as it is a thriller. Lucky is of course beautiful, as are all fictional female assassins (with the notable exception of Rosa Klebb, 007s antagonist with the orthopedic switchblade shoes). She works for a shadowy organization known as The Network, which clearly has worldwide presence and influence, and there is an overarching revenge plot driving her actions. Which are exactly the kind of elements that belong in a great romantic thriller.
Nixon’s prose is straightforward and clear, with a style that, like that of all good storytellers, does not call attention to itself. There is also a complete and welcome lack of what I personally classify as, simply, “stupid action”. This is the kind of silliness often seen in movies, but that can occasionally rear its head in prose. In short, it is the kind of poorly thought out action scene which will yank anyone with even the most basic understanding of weapons, cars, combat, or plate glass right out of a story. But you won’t find that sort of thing here. The author has done her homework in technical matters, and her action scenes, depictions of firearms, and descriptions of hand-to-hand throwdowns are executed with rock hard realism.
Nixon is just as adept at revealing the emotional core of characters in a realistic manner as well. Most importantly, she does not shy away from showing the down side of Lucky’s profession. Not merely the loneliness and near impossibility of a normal social or family life, but the corrosive effects of killing on one’s soul and psyche, despite the fact that all of her targets are thieves, murderers, psychopaths, and worse who richly deserve their fates.
In a crowded genre, Lucky’s Charm stands several notches above the typical romantic thriller and I highly recommend it. Prospective readers and established fans of the series will be happy to know that Lucky’s Charm has now been released as an audiobook through Audible and brought to life by veteran reader Kay Nazarchyk. As someone with a long commute who has listened to almost nothing but audiobooks in the car since around 2007, I’m well-acquainted with dozens of professional readers and Nazarchyk’s reading is as crisp and clear as any. My only quibble with the audiobook, and it is a very minor one, is that the voices of the two main female characters don’t differ from each other in tone and mode of speech as much as they might have. However, this did not at all affect my understanding or enjoyment of the book in the least. In closing, I look forward to reading the next book in the series, as will many discovering Lucky for the first time.
On the surface, Lucky’s Charm by Jenn Nixon is a story about a professional assassin, albeit one with ethics. It is more. The protagonist, Lucky, is a complex character. The book is at least as much about her inner conflicts, ethical and otherwise, as it is about her job. Among the multiple reasons for her becoming a paid killer is a desire to find the person who murdered her mother and take revenge. Perhaps it isn’t the most noble of motivations, a fact she accepts, but it drives her nonetheless. Complications she faces include her concerns about her uncle and cousin. They work with the same network of assassins she does, but as handlers, coordinators, and researchers, not as killers. She worries about them as much as they worry about her. Her uncle is as determined to find the person who killed Lucky’s mother as she is, but would also like to see Lucky and his daughter find a way to lead more normal lives. Her already complicated life becomes more complex when she encounters and falls in love with Ken, another assassin working for her network. She tries not to become involved with him, attempting, as she has in the past, to limit her emotional involvement to her uncle and cousin. She fails. The constant background as she follows clues leading to the identity of the man who killed her mother is her work as she assassinates one target after another. Although the situation and methods vary widely from victim to victim, some readers might find the series of murders a bit repetitive. Against this, every job she does tells the reader a little more about Lucky and what’s going on in her head. By the end of the book things seem to come together for Lucky. Her relationship with her lover is deepening. In some ways she seems to finding the normalcy her uncle wants for her and she wants for herself. She seems to be closing in on the person she’s looking for, even having a name for the person who might be the man who murdered her mother. Eliminating the killer she’s spent years looking for might be enough to let her retire as an assassin, or at least move into a position allowing her to kill less often. In the novel, as in real life, things are never easy. She makes an understandable error resulting in someone, probably the person she’s looking for, attempting to kill her. The would-be assassin fails, but wounds her uncle in the process. Unfortunately or not, depending on the reader’s feelings, the book is part of a series and doesn’t actually end. Instead it stops at what will be the start of the next book in the series. This is not ideal for a person who wants each book to be self-contained, but for those willing to look at a series as a whole and don’t insist on each book standing completely alone it should not be a problem. With the last proviso one the individual reader must take into account, this is a book I would recommend to anyone who likes a well-structured novel with an interesting prot
Lucky’s Break, by Jenn Nixon, is a worthy successor to the first book in the Lucky series, Lucky’s Charm. There is a gap of several months between the end of Lucky’s Charm and the start of Lucky’s Break, which a reader might find a bit confusing at first, but intervening events are soon explained. Agonizing over the fact her uncle was severely injured because of a mistake Lucky made, she tried to break with her family and with the organization of assassins she worked for. Her family, and her boyfriend Ken, refused to accept the separation and tracked her down, convincing her to return to her job and continue her hunt for the man who killed her mother.
In Lucky’s Break Nixon goes deeper into the personalities of both Lucky and Ken. None of this is dependent on the first book in the series, and Nixon gives the reader all the information needed to understand the problems and dilemmas her protagonist faces. Nixon shows Lucky as a killer who doesn’t want to be one and Ken as an assassin who accepts what he is because he, like Lucky’s uncle and cousin, feels what he is doing is a benefit to society. Lucky is far less confident in the justice of her actions, although in some cases agrees the people she kills deserve what is happening to them.
The core of the story is Lucky’s search for the man who attempted to kill her father and did kill her mother, ultimately causing her father’s death as well. The hunt is convoluted, the trail at times seeming to be leading her to her prey, at other times appearing to have gone cold. Even when she is moving in the right direction, Nixon introduces realistic complications and barriers to keep Lucky from solving her problems.
As with the first book of the series, Nixon makes her protagonist’s life difficult from physical, psychological, and ethical standpoints. By the end of Lucky’s Break Lucky seems to be getting closer the man she is hunting, but Nixon gives strong hints that Lucky is up against more than a single person and may be taking on a powerful organization. Some readers might be frustrated at this point, because this is where the book stops, not actually ending, but with Nixon setting up the conditions for the third book of the series. If you want a completely self-contained book, this probably isn’t the one for you. If you like a well-crafted, ongoing series with well-drawn characters and don’t mind reading several books to get the whole stories, Jenn Nixon’s Lucky’s Break is excellent.
Felicia has become a contract killer for “the network”. After her mother dies, her father, Luciano, the original Lucky, spends the rest of his life pretending to be dead so he can track down his wife’s killer. When he dies, his best friend pulls Felicia into the network to take his place and continue his quest. It is tough for Felicia to do what she does and be anything close to normal. All of her interpersonal relationships are strained by the weight of her past. I won’t spoil it for other readers, but I will say I didn’t expect the ending.
I knew I was going to enjoy Lucky’s Charm before I was through reading the first chapter. I love stories with strong heroines and Felicia proved to be a very tough and capable, yet complex character. Nothing about her is simple. Her background as a child adopted by a hit man. Taking on her father’s identity in order to infiltrate the network so she can discover who killed her mother. Her personal, more than business, relationship with her handler and her father’s handler. And last but not least, her very sexy romantic relationship with another hit man. No wonder the woman has trust issues!
It’s hard being a hit woman, and tougher to write a hit woman with any level of credibility. It requires a great amount of suspended disbelief to get into a story of this type. Ms. Nixon does a wonderful job of drawing the reader into Lucky’s character. I confess when I first picked up the book, I expected Lucky to be one-dimensional, as most female characters in the action/adventure genre tend to be. Think, Angelina Jolie in Mr. and Mrs. Smith, a movie to which Ms. Nixon gives a nod. The depth Ms. Nixon brought to this premise pleasantly surprised me.
I have received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.
I have reading the first part, like within hours after starting I couldn't wait to start this one. I was so glad that I have all the book available! I don't know if I would be able to wait for the next part.
The book picks up few months after the first book has finished. And I have to admit the jobs are amazingly well described her. Jenn didn't disappoint me with the variety of tasks that Lucky had to complete. The plot and story line flows perfectly, main characters and secondary ones are complementing each other even better than in the first part and that made me really happy.
We still can see Lucky's struggle between her feelings for the family and Ken. What I really enjoyed that author has put more emphasis on Felicia's and Ken's feelings, personalities so the reader can really get to know them. Have the same feelings they have.
Even though in here we can see that all her jobs are going smoothly, and are even too easy sometimes the main goal, finding the killer of her mother, is not that simple. Lucky is near the man who killed her, but it's kind of hinted that this is more complicated and more people are involved in it than she previously thought.
This is an amazing series, with heart stopping cliffhangers, that makes me (personally) scream in frustration but also I can't wait for more, as I love a good cliffhanger. And this book has it.
I received an ARC of Jenn Nixon’s Lucky’s Promise in return for an honest review.
Lucky’s Promise promises and delivers intrigue, suspense, romance, conflict and enough switches on the switches to satisfy the most discriminating fan of espionage thrillers.
Assassin Felicia, aka Lucky, explains it best when she says, “This is all I’ve known for years. Secrets, lies, and death. Until you”---Kenji, her lover, aka Ken, aka Shoukan, fellow assassin also fighting evil---“Until you, I believed I was a…a monster. I didn’t care what those people did. I killed selfishly for answers, for vengeance. The deeper I felt for you…the more it tore me away from that goal. I didn’t want you to see what I was, who I became, but you always knew. Even if you hadn’t saved me today, you saved me, Kenji, you gave me something to live for.”
I would never have believed I could feel sorry for a killer, no matter the justification, but Lucky and Kenji, and Lucky’s Uncle Phen, they had me empathizing, hoping they could find their way out of their current field of expertise of serving death to the evil bastards of this world.
Unfortunately, I ran across a few proofing errors. And the multiple names of the characters got in the way right off the bat. Once I got all the players straight in my head, nothing could distract me from the intense plot or detract from the strong characterization author Jenn Nixon has created in Lucky’s Promise.
I have received ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.
This is the third book in this amazing series that grabbed my attention from the start of the book 1! I could not wait to write the review for this part as for me this is the best book among all 3 of them.
We have so much going on here. Lucky is finally getting answers after years of searching and hunting the guys that destroyed her family. Lucky is a perfect assassin. Even though she kills for money, she can defer good from bad and is actually able to feel love also. Her lover, Kenji is my new BBF. He is strong and determined to break all the walls that surrounds Lucky. He loves her and he wants to teach her how to love back. Their feelings are growing with every chapter. You can see how Lucky is changing thanks to him. She is no longer a girl, woman obsessed with vengeance. She is able to love him back and care for him.
This book is amazing. The multiple POVs, changing from good to bad guys makes it so much more interesting, as it's rare to have the insight into the BAD guys way of thinking. I found it...refreshing.
This book is emotional not only because of the love between the main characters, but also because of all the action that it's packed with. The whole series is.

Review: 4 stars General: Lucky's Charm is a fast paced, high stakes book that sucked me in from the beginning. The plot itself is entertaining, you don't find too many females in this line of stories and that was a great twist for me. I felt the world and the action were extremely well written. The scenes flowed well from one to the next and Lucky seemed a flawless assassin and a wonderful flawed lead character. This was also a romance and I liked that the romance really did take a backseat to the main story. It was there and a great element but it didn't overshadow the book as sometimes the romance is the only story and the rest gets lost.
The only problem for me was Lucky herself in the job. It seemed things were too simple and easy for her. There was the emotional struggle with her family and Kenji that was great but as an assassin she almost seemed too skilled. I would have liked the jobs to have been a touch trickier to real make me care that Lucky was in life and death situations.
Assassins, convoluted schemes and emotional upheaval fill this book with conflict and action, taking the reader on a wild ride.
This is the third book in a trilogy that is so filled with twists, turns, and mysterious characters that if you haven't read the first two books, you will find yourself adrift. So before you pick this one up, read the first two books in the series.
Lucky is an assassin for a mysterious agency. Her adoptive father was also an assassin and one of the founding members of the agency, but when he was killed trying to get revenge his wife's murder, Lucky vowed to avenge both their deaths. There are lots of skeletons in the family closet, and her boyfriend is determined to figure out what's going on. Did I mention he's also an assassin? (Not to mention totally hot!)
The book alternates POVs, including the two main bad guys that Lucky is hunting. Unbeknownst to her, they are hunting her boyfriend. Like I said, twists and revelations will keep you turning pages well into the night. If you like thrillers, try this series by Jenn Nixon, but trust me. Start at the beginning because you won't want to miss a thing.
A Copy of this Book Was Given To Me By The Author In Exchange For An Honest Review* Several months have passed since the ending of ‘Lucky’s Charm’. How Lucky comes to be on a remote island is explained in the book, so whilst I advise anyone to read ‘Charm’ first you would easily pick up the tale from this one alone. (The exception would be if you wanted a career as a hit-man/girl as you would have more methods to choose from if you’d read both.) We learn a lot more about Lucky’s and Ken’s complex characters and you will find yourself identifying with Lucky and willing her to succeed with each ‘job’ she undertakes. Those you may think of as victims do not deserve to live; a fact that Ken accepts but Lucky is still struggling with throughout the book. Whilst the murderer of Lucky’s mother is still at large at the end, the shooter of her uncle Phen is identified and dealt with. I look forward to the third part. I have received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.
It was my first book by Jenn and I have to say that I'm shocked that it has only few reviews as this book is amazingly well written, with a story that makes you gasp with every page and with very well developed characters.
Felicia, who was adopted by Luciano and Molly, thought that life can get only better. She has an exciting, but dangerous job and she is good at it. But her life can't be simple and a happy one. She has a job that normally is consider as a man job.
The book pulled me in straight away. From the first chapter I engrossed in the characters and plot. Especially when Looking at the title I thought that it will be a nice romance book haha But Jenn took it to a totally different level. The book is amazing and even though there is love, it's not a main focus of the book which was refreshing.
Ending caused me to open my mouth in shock and straight away take second part of the book.
Packed with tense moments and action, this book contains a heaping dose of angst and torment as well. I kept turning the pages, worrying about Lucky nearly as much as she worried about those close to her. As a member of a network of hired assassins, she rids the world of evil men. She feels justified in that task for the men she is assigned to eliminate have committed heinous crimes. However, she’s also spent years searching for the man who killed her mother, but that man is searching for Kenji, who is deeply in love with Lucky. Plagued with anxiety, Lucky tests Kenji’s patience, refusing to let him into her heart for fear of losing him even though he’s the only one who seems to be able to help her deal with the afflictions she suffers due to her unhappy past.
As Kenji breaks down Lucky's barriers to love, the danger grows ever nearer for both of them. Ms. Nixon delivers a solid emotional punch in this third book of her series. It’s well worth the read.
Meet Lucky, a professional assassin who has taken over her father's business. Hired by The Network, Lucky, or on occasion, Felicia Fascino, joins a group of ex-military to take out those she deems not worthy to survive. Her goal is to find the person who betrayed her father and murdered her mother, until she meets up with another member of the The Network who brings up feelings in her better left alone. All she really wants is a nice normal life, but her path is not cut that way.
A romantic suspense, Lucky's Charm will keep you on your toes and turning pages until the end of the book. Jenn Nixon shocked and surprised me with her ability to keep me entertained and her ability to make me see beyond Lucky's career and into a woman as rich and complex as humanity itself. Lucky's Charm is well worth the time and the money and makes for a TERRIFIC afternoon read.
Jenn Nixon introduces us to a smart and tough assassin who finds herself in a woe of catastrophes, and essentially all on her own to deal with. She has issues all right, and the majority of them have to deal with borderline people that help and at the same time hinder her as she takes on one of her father's old cases.
Of course that means dealing with her father's old baggage too - and this baggage is lethal.
So forget Patricia Cornwell's Scarpetta, Lucky is a little more bang for you buck and we're talk'n bang bang and bang! Hard-hitting style wirrten here as a female Raymond Chandler that could be taken as modern noir! Lucky's Charm scratches that itch where the female noir market is lacking.
This book, whilst primarily analyzing the thoughts of a female assassin working for ‘The Network,’ also has an excellent plot (Lucky is not just an assassin working for money – she’s helping her uncle find her father’s killer). We read very good descriptions of Lucky’s methods in carrying out her ‘jobs:’ it has a believable love story between Lucky and Kenji (who also works for ‘The Network.’) In addition the stresses and strains put on the small family unit of Lucky, her uncle and his daughter are explored for the reader’s benefit. Although this book is complete in itself and can be (and was by me) enjoyed on its own we are left with a cliff-hanger which is resolved in the second book ‘Lucky’s Break’.
When you start reading this series, you won't want to stop......
Book 2. Fascinating series. The title -- Lucky's Break -- is a bit of a misnomer. Lucky has just about everything happen to her but getting a break. Her inner strength is pushed again and again. Can her soul mate find her in time? Will things smooth out after he does? Her romance strengthens after some rocky spots. Making up is always fun. She deals with the shooter of her uncle while trying to forgive herself for him being shot in the first place. Her goal to find the murderer of her mother remains. The investigation continues. I don't know about you, but I'm getting paranoid and I'm not trusting anyone. I've heard that Lucky's Promise is soon to debut. Can't wait to solve the mystery.
Warning: This series is addictive and won't let you go.
Have to admit I was curious about a story featuring a female assassin. Before I knew what was happening, I was hooked. Readers will discover numerous things about Lucky's life. Don't be surprised if you're sitting on the edge of your seat, holding your breath, waiting, hoping, things go well for her. Jenn Nixon will keep you in suspense. There are many layers that make up this strong woman who really deserves a strong man and some romance. Guess what? Nah, no spoilers. Read the book, you will not be disappointed. Fortunately this is a trilogy. Next up — Lucky's Break.
Hard core thriller with a tough female killer-for-hire as the lead character. This one is really not what I consider fast-paced however there is plenty of action as the lead moves from one victim to another. I appreciate the way the author handled the love affair by NOT making it mushy or going into the details of the sexual encounters. The conversations with the killer's handler and his daughter were repetitive and became tedious, but those parts are easy to skim over. The ending demands a sequel and I look forward to reading it. Recommend for thriller readers.
Lucky's Charm was a fast paced thrilling cloak and dagger type book that kept my interest from the very first page. I couldn't put the book down and read it straight through from beginning to end. I hate spoilers, so I'll tell you that the characters were very real and personable. I could see the scenes unfolding and my heart ached for the embattled main character. Romance was intense and emotional. Truly enjoyed this.
Such a great book! I can't wait to read the next one. Felicia (Lucky) is such a strong and independent woman. An amazing female character w/ great purpose. Love her! I will definitely be reading more of Jenn Nixon's work.
