Great build from Book 1, The Queen's Device. We are getting new characters, new backgrounds, new parts of the world.

I loved to hate Julia in book 1, and I liked that in Book 2 we saw a bit more of her emotional turmoil. Getting to see the inner workings of the Villain's mind created an empathy I wasn't expecting.

Corinn struggled in this book, rightfully so. She has had so much trauma and zero processing time. Honestly, I'm going to need someone to be there for her in Book 3, because girl needs a hug.

Griff and his grief over Corinn at the front end of the book wrecked me. Absolutely broke my heart, but it just backed up so much why I loved him in Book 1. Excited to see more of him!

This book has small pockets of action that were so well written, and I loved how it moved the story forward. I am SO curious to hear more about the Red Fox crew, I'm hoping we get more background!

overall, good sequel. I'm excited for the final book!

OMG I was so excited to read this book!! The first book was incredible (if The Hunger Games and The Selection had a baby, that would be it), and this sequel was just as stunning!! I mean, did you see the cover?? Beautiful. The first half was a little slower for me, but it built the setting for the second half that was so good I couldn't put the book down!

Favorite quotes out of context:
🟣 "Bravery feels a lot like fear; it's just about the choice you make in its face. It's that easy, and that hard."
🟡 "It's beautiful," I whispered. [Redacted] planted a kiss on my forehead before sitting cross-legged on the roof to finish his pie. "You're beautiful. This view is just a bonus."
🟣 "And the Kings deliverance was not enough for me. I needed to see the queen's demolition. I needed to see her burn and crumble and fall."

Tropes include:
🗡️ Sequel
👑 Dual POV
🗡️ Found family
👑 Surprising allies
🗡️ Bootcamp
👑 Survival
🗡️ Futuristic cities
👑 Heartwarming reunions
🗡️ Cliffhanger

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Spice: 0,5 🌶️ (only kisses)

One of my most highly anticipated reads for this year and WOW. It was so nice to come back to Corinn and Griff’s story!

I celebrated accomplishments with them, freaked out for their safety, had my heart broken for them–it was an absolute rollercoaster. And during that whole time, I could not wait to see how their actions and storylines would come together in the end. The impeccable storytelling in this series once again grabs you from the start and refuses to let you go. I loved everything about this book, from more expansive worldbuilding to meeting new lovable characters. And when you reach the end? All I can say is you’ll be begging for book three like me. You will not regret reading this series.

“All my stars point to you.”

Brittany Mack has a way with words, and she spins them in such a masterful way that you can’t help but feel so immersed in every aspect of the story. I loved reuniting with these characters, seeing their growth throughout the story, and also get a deeper understand of this world Mack has created & the depth and complexity it has.

A suspenseful story full of plot twists that keep you wanting more! I seriously can’t wait for the conclusion to this epic trilogy!!

CW: some instances of language and more descriptive kisses (think PG13-level). Nothing explicit, though!

The Queen’s Device was one of my favorite books of 2024. All the dystopia vibes with crazy plot twists and high stakes. Needless to say, I was very excited to receive my very first ARC from Book Funnel for the sequel!

The King’s Deliverance picks up right where the Queen’s Device left off. We get multiple POVs, more world building, political machinations, and deception. While the beginning was a bit slow, it built to something really great. There were also some repetitive moments of dialogue or thought patterns that felt unnecessary. However, was on the edge of my seat and there were so many shocking moments. My jaw was on the floor, I was angry, I was giggling. I felt a full spectrum of emotions. What a journey. The characters are all very well written and deep, even the supporting ones. I became so invested in these characters and learned so much about their motivations. This book made some interesting commentary on ethics and biological manipulation and warfare which I thought was unique. Overall, this was a pretty great sequel, and after that epilogue I am excited (and scared) for the final book in this trilogy!

This book was hard for me to get through. I really didn't want to finish but I also wanted to know what happened. I gave it 4 stars instead of 3 because some of the twists and turns and shocks and surprises were pretty good. I was hoping this was a duology but it's not, it's something much worse....it's an unfinished series....

This was a highly anticipated sequel for me and I thought the author took it in a great direction. What I have really enjoyed about this trilogy so far is the unique mix of sci-fi, dystopian, and fantasy royalty elements.

I won't say much but my biggest concern after that book one cliffhanger was Griff and I was thankfully able to let out that breath I had been holding. Griff and Corinn felt super consistent from the first book and despite being what felt like a world away the romance still delivered! And I loved their reunion. I really loved Griff's POV. I equally enjoyed what was going on with each of them and how it connected. The author really expanded upon the conflict. The newer characters were great!

This rebel group is up against a newer and bigger enemy and I'm very intrigued in how all this will end. The cliffhanger was perfect.

In this book:
-found family
-training sequence
-rebel group
-worlds collide
-royal court
-scifi elements

Content guide:
clean romance
semi-frequent minor language
semi-graphic violence
potential content warning: off-page prolonged bodily torture

I absolutely adore this book and this series! If you loved Hunger Games and want to dive back into a Dystopian World, pick this series up now! Corinn is back in the second book to face a whole new set of challenges. The competition for the crown is over, and the consequences have a whole host of issues.

It's hard to write about books 2 without spoilers, but I'll do my best. I LOVED all the new characters and the situations Corinn and Griff found themselves in throughout the book. It adds so much to the world and makes these situations so much more intense! The bravery and strength these two had to save Miota are admirable and make for a great book!

I can honestly say that with all the books I've read recently, this is the series that I love the most! I never re-read books, but I've read the first one three times and the second one twice 😅 I'll probably re-read them again before the third book in the trilogy comes out. Do not miss this adventure!

Thank you Brittany for my favorite dystopian series, and I hope you have a great book launch! 6/5 stars every day, all day, for Corinn and Griff's star filled love! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A wonderful sequel to a story I loved! Griff and Corinn’s story is beautiful. The grief and tension was palpable in this book and left me breathless. Brittany really knows how to write love and yearning so well.
While I did love this story, I think two thinks kept it from being a 5 star.

Otherwise, I love Brittany’s work! Her weaving of emotional depth between Griff and Corinn really sold me. And the ending had me gripping my book so hard I was scared I would tear the pages!

Thank you Brittany Mack for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

The follow up to The Queen's Device by Brittany Mack did not disappoint. The consequences to the end of the first book were real to Griff and Corinn with both being separated from each other. The novel was told from multiple POVs and this worked because we see glimpses of what the protagonists were doing to fight against those with greater power and control. The pacing worked well and there were no dull moments throughout. Looking forward to book number 3!

The King’s Deliverance had me hooked from page one! I loved the dual POV which gave us insight into Miota and the Sectors.

I enjoyed the new characters, the world building, and character development! Each character found their space and it really helped the story all come together for me.

Brittany, ma’am, you CANNOT leave us on that cliffhanger. The betrayal?! Again?! I’m obsessed and need book 3 😩

This was SUCH a fun read. Dystopian meets fantasy in a thrilling action-packed book. Brittany makes you fall in love with the characters, so each twist is exciting and keeps you on the edge of your seat. I would definitely say to re-read the first book in the series if you can before starting this one, as I wish I had done! There’s a lot of details that I missed because I had forgotten things since I read it last summer. I would highly recommend!

real rating (any day now, gr): 4.75
If the beautiful covers for this series don't entice you, the story inside absolutely should. In true sequel fashion, this book changed the game for these characters. New settings, new allies, new enemies and obstacles. Oh, and heartbreak. THAT ONE reveal had me in tears for pages.

Such a great sequel! I loved the new characters that were introduced, and getting to see an entirely new world was really interesting and added a great dynamic. So much political intrigue, and I was absolutely devouring the small amount of romance! Loved this whole book, can’t wait for the next one!

I was really frustrated with the writing style. At some points it was honestly too juvenile. There were too many unnecessary repetitions and the word moon was mentioned far too many times. I wanted to see more of Corinn and Griff together. The first book had a more interesting plot. I'm still gonna read the third book.

This book is proof that when i am wrong bad things happen.
I thought this was a duology. Everything should’ve been wrapped up nicely.
But come on bro!!!
Now all the craziness from this book will be living RENT FREE in my head until the last one is released.

I am NEVER reading new books ever again

Mild spoilers for book 1- read at your own risk!

OH MY GOODNESS. THIS BOOK IS EVERYTHING.
After the cliff hanger of the first book I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this one and it did not disappoint!

Where do I even start?! This book picks up right where first left off which is great since that cliffhanger was BRUTAL. We get to see more of all the best characters in this book, more Corinn, more Griff and more characters to fall in love with!

I loved seeing Corinn build herself up after the events of the first book and dealing with overcoming survivors guilt.

And Griff

OH GRIFFIN HOWARD YOU HAVE MY HEART.
We got the yearning, the pining, and his beautiful words as he worked through his grief and tried to find the will to keep fighting.

I won’t say much more for the sake of spoilers but the plot twists and turns had me GASPING out loud. The politics, the friendships, the betrayals all had me hooked from the first page to the last.

Brittney Mack outdid herself and I fear I will be dying slowly until I can read the last book.

Thanks to the author for the ARC!

I loved book one, and couldn't wait for this book. It did not disappoint! Now we just need book 3!

Full of drama and plotting, Corinn and Griff find their way back together, while also working on saving everyone from Miota and their awful leader.

This was a journey for sure! An emotional rollercoaster, where you're really not sure what to feel - about the world and specific characters in it - but where you also just want more of it all! Looking forward to seeing how this series ends.

There was action and tension and angst and high stakes.

The highly anticipated sequel to The Queen's Device is finally here! The King's Deliverance is the next segment in the story of Corinn and Griff, fighting for their country's freedom from a tyrannical queen.

First of all I want to thank Brittany Mack for allowing me to be one of her ARC readers again. She has been so gracious both times and allowing me early access to this wonderful series.

The King's Deliverance takes us back to Miota for the next chapter in this story. I don't want to give too much away for those who haven't read these books so I will do my best to describe the vibes I got from it. This book is multi-POV in multiple parts of the world. There is secrecy, twists and turns all along the way, found family, betrayal, and heartache. The story started a little slower than the first book but it was building the new world settings. Once the storyline was all set up, the story really took off and the rest of the book flew by for me. I throughly enjoyed this book and am very excited to read the third segment when it comes out next year!!

Omg it is FINALLY out in the world! Holy crap congratulations Brittany!! I absolutely LOVE this series! And while there are *obviously* moments that I just want to smack the characters for not listening to me screaming at them through my kindle (it’s therapeutic I promise 😂) I’m so SO excited for book 3! (No rush but also, can I have it now? 😘)

Second book of the Royal Codex series (so obvi, go read The Queen’s Device RIGHT NOW!) we follow Corinn as she navigates through the knowns and unknowns to try and free Miota from a *wretched* queen. As to not spoil ANYTHING, I shall leave you with this….training montage WITHOUT magic convenient boost of physical strength when she needs it 🤯

Overall, so proud of you Brittany and SO happy I got to be part of it as an ARC reader! So excited for everyone to read it!! 😍
