He lived in the backwoods of Canada, Germany (Göttingen, Jena), Austria (Vienna), Belgium (Brussels) and Italy (Como, Florence, Spezia, Trieste), where he died of heart failure.
There are a lot of great comic moments in this book but at times it can be somewhat hard to follow. I’m not sure if that’s due to the writing or my lack of familiarity with the events covered.
