This is an inspiring collection of stories from Latinas who have faced cultural expectations to stay quiet and small but chose instead to rise, speak out, and reclaim their power. I really enjoyed how passionate and honest each story felt, showing the struggles and triumphs of women who refused to let fear or tradition hold them back. It was like being invited into a space full of strength, resilience, and hope. This book is a reminder that we’re never alone in our struggles and that our voices have the power to create change.

Más de una vez, al leer este libro, sentí las lágrimas venir. El nivel de empatía que logré sentir por estas mujeres, ajustándose a su nueva realidad y rompiéndola —incluso cuando todo estaba en su contra—, da una sensación de que todas podemos ser ellas, fortalecer nuestra resiliencia y salir adelante, aun con nuestro duelo migratorio por la pérdida de nuestra identidad profesional.

Good Reading For All

I’m blow away by the power, clarity, courage and humility displayed in each of the stories. I burst into tears at the end of Tamara Landiera’s chapter. So many of the women who I’ve seen as successful professionals have overcome so much, and their grace shows through their reflections on their own lives, and their care for those around them.
This is a great book to have on the shelf, whether you read through the whole thing, or just pick it up for a chapter at a time. The vignette style nature of the chapters makes it a very accessible read, along with being personal and real-to-life. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to connect on a deeper level with the human experience, or needs a boost to keep going through tough things in order to step into the life they feel drawn to.
