Paul Cunningham is one of the only bachelors left on the SEAL wolf team, and he's less than thrilled to hear he's been volunteered for a local charity bachelor auction.
Lori Greypaw suspected that her grandmother would use the auction as an opportunity to fix her up. So she's not surprised when she "buys" Paul to help Lori renovate her mountain cabin for a week. Lori's had a crush on the sexy SEAL wolf for years, but he proves to be handy with more than a hammer when two fugitives come knocking and he'll do anything to protect the woman he's falling for...
Love, love, love romance, the paranormal, hunky Highlanders with their delicious brogue and hot kilts, so Terry Spear writes about those hunky Highlanders both in medieval times and as wolves in contemporary times. Jaguar shifters too! And young adult urban fantasy. And romantic suspense.
She grew up reading mystery, adventure, mythologies from around the world, ghost stories, the paranormal, fell in love with Dracula and Wolfman, and felt they needed loving too. Everyone should have someone to love. Which means her stories always have a HEA.

Seal wolf Paul Cunningham is a bit surprised to go from the auction block to fixing up a mountain cabin with Lori Greypaw but he’s on more solid ground when he has to protect the woman’s he’s falling for in this howling good paranormal romance.
Lori’s had a crush on the sexy SEAL for years and due to her grandmother’s scheming she’ll have to work by his side to fix up the cabin and the reader can’t help but get caught up in this ‘hooyah’ romance. The attraction between Paul and Lori has been smoldering for years and having to work side by side has their desires exploding into some scorching hot passion but before they can mate, Paul has a few life altering decisions to make. These strong captivating characters are easily related to as they keep readers focused on their story and the fast paced, smooth flowing plot ensures that there is never a dull moment with lots of suspense, excitement and romance.
Chaos is in town due to some back robberies and two fugitives who is giving the small pack some problems but that’s not all the excitement as there are quite a few surprises in store for Paul from well-meaning family members while some emotionally troubling events add to the suspense. Well written scenes and details builds expectations while they capture the imagination making it easy for the reader to get lost in the story while the intriguing happenings ensure that the readers want to know every last detail.
Terry Spear has a gift for bringing her Loup-garous to life and winning the hearts of readers, each story has a perfect blend of action, romance, suspense, emotional turmoil, and let’s not forget the sexy wolves themselves! This story certainly fits right in and I was completely enthralled from beginning to end and I have to say it is quite ingenious how the pack had a sudden growth spurt so of course I can’t wait to read the next one. - Eva
Wolfullushes! Wolf shifters, hot alpha SEALs, lushes sexual tension and strong lady shifters, what more can you ask for?
Lori belongs to a woman only pack. The remaining men have left for military careers, only coming home while on leave. Lori and the other woman are looking for more from their missing men. What they want most is a commitment from Paul, Navy SEAL shifter, to become their full time alpha. Lori would also love for a full time commitment from Paul to also become her mate, but until he is ready to take that step Lori will do her best to keep their pack together.
Match making at its best, a charity bachelor auction, puts Paul and Lori in an up close and personal proximity in a remote cabin.
Spear provides the reader a front row seat to a highly entertaining romance. Side plots with a few unexpected twists and turns, I really enjoyed SEAL Wolf Hunting.
I received this ARC copy of SEAL Wolf Hunting from SOURCEBOOKS Casablanca in exchange for a honest review. This book is set for publication July 7, 2015.
Paul Cunningham, is one of the few left from their SEAL team still unmated, after his latest mission that proved traumatic for him, he has come home for a break from his busy contracted missions and to face up to his past and find the one woman he has longed for, his true mate. When he and his closest friend Allan, arrive home, they are both drafted into a local charity bachelor auction. At first he is appalled, the last thing he wants to do is to be offered up like a slice of meat, but it’s for a good cause, and if it results in spending time with Lori Greypaw and winning her over, then he will show off his ‘assets’ when it is required. Lori has been in love with Paul most of her life, but he is too involved in his SEAL team missions, she is determined to wait until he is ready to settle down before she even begins anything more serious than friendship with Paul. He is the hope that their pack needs to survive, but he must want to be their leader and must desire to stay and be her partner and not want to gallivant around the world and put his life in constant danger. And she will accept nothing less…
The Hero
Paul Cunningham is part of a pack where most of the members and his family were killed by a rival and rabid pack. There are only a few survivors left, and he will protect them at all costs. Paul is part of a SEAL team, even though he has been retired from the military service for quite some time, he and the rest of the team (those that haven’t yet mated) go on contracted missions, mostly saving kidnapped victims. Paul puts his heart and soul into his work, he is a natural-born leader, and he has a destiny he will need to face up to. What was most fascinating about Paul was how deeply entrenched he is in the story. He is pure alpha male, takes command of every situation, possessive but loving and playful too, especially when it comes to Lori. He has always known that she was his mate, even when he was a boy, he always knew and indulged her antics. I adored how Paul’s character, accepted life as it was, he didn’t shy away from the truth and faced up to what he was feeling. He didn’t hide from pain or joy, he embraced it. In this story we see how he handles a variety of scenarios and emotions that bring more meaning to the story.
The Heroine
Lori lost all of her family, except for her beloved grandmother, and will everything she can to keep her safe. She runs a self-defense and karate class to keep them financially stable, and keep herself in shape in case a threat were to jeopardize those she loves the most that weren’t lost in the battle years ago. Lori is strong and competent but she refuses to enter in a relationship with a man who is always away on missions, she deserves and demands more from her future mate. So she is willing to wait for him to decide when she is important enough to him. Lori is a heroine I loved instantly. She isn’t a door mat, she accepts life with an open appeal, she doesn’t back down from a challenge, but there is one man she will hide from…her future mate. Because she knows that if she places her heart out there, it might just get bruised and even broken, because his life as a SEAL is vital to him. I liked that she is honest about who she is and who she is meant to become. But we see how she also fears the emotions that Paul evokes in her, but I found it most intriguing that even though she fears certain things, when the time is right she stands up and embraces him and her life fully.
Plot and Story Line
SEAL Wolf Hunting was a bit of a change from the latest books in the series, but boy am I glad she is returning to these SEAL members, because boy was Paul super sexy in this story. There is something so different about a SEAL romance but when you add a shifter romance in the mix, it brings the reader to new heights. And boy has Terry Spear done it again, captivated me heart and soul from the first page. It was no difficult getting into this story, and it can be read as a stand alone if need be, I would recommend reading the whole series first though so you understand some other side characters and their relationship with Paul and Allan a bit more. Although I will say the author does set up decent background information, that you don’t have to. If you have yet to try this author out…boy are you ladies and gents missing out on one fantastic author!! She is by far one of my favorite paranormal authors, she writes in a very engaging way, and there isn’t one book of hers I haven’t loved. In this story we see the story begin with Paul and Allan coming home, they call Allan’s mother, who sounds very secretive and having just returned from a very dangerous mission, their senses are on high alert, and they assume something is wrong, well they burst in with military pain and their weapons and Paul ends up being wacked over the head by Lori and he kisses her and thus begins an unusual courtship of these wolves that have known each other since childhood, and always knew they were each others mates. The story progresses with Lori and Paul working together on house repairs for Lori’s grandmother, playing together as wolves, and some steamy but highly romantic love scenes that keeps your interest on these two. It doesn’t end with them mating…oh no the story just begins to get even more interesting, and we see how well these two can work together even if they are hundreds of miles apart from each other. We do have some villains, that at the beginning of the story I wasn’t fully expecting to see to be honest, I mean they turn out pretty bad, on the surface they just seem like troublemakers, restless shifter wolves that have no pack, but we soon see how their motives go more treacherous than that, and we see how the whole pack will band together, and even an extra character or two that Paul and Lori will need to trust if they want to survive. Engaging and quite heart wrenching, a romance that true in emotion and classic in its rousing entertainment of a story that will win your heart!! Terry Spear is winning me over with each new story!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND to fans of paranormal romance and sexy alpha male shifter and inspirational heroines!!
The Cover
Who wouldn’t love this cover, I mean look at that man, he looks scary though right? But boy that body a woman could worship. And the JEANS!! Holy moly, can he fit them well. What do you guys think of it?
Overall View
SEAL Wolf Hunting is a powerful story of the healing power of love, a thrilling tale of danger and passion, a talented blend of emotion and fast paced action to set you off your seats!! A PARANORMAL TREAT!!
DNF at 5%. What an awkward start. They burst into a house afraid that there’s a hostage situation and when it turns out to be nothing, they just kiss and joke around and leave and don’t even acknowledge that they were freaking out.
Plus, it sounds like these two people have no reason not to be together so I don’t feel like slogging through.
Who doesn’t like wolf shifters? Terry Spear’s Heart of the Wolf series has another tale of an alpha wolf and the woman he loves in book #16, SEAL Wolf Hunting. Once again, there is a lot of intrigue, some hot romance, and just for fun, a shrewd and sly-as-a-fox grandmother who knows what is best for her family and her pack! Who knew that one charity bachelor auction could seal the fate of a former Navy SEAL, who just came home for a little visit? Was it his lucky pink shirt?
Paul and Lori have always felt that special pull, but Lori wants a full time mate, not an adventure-seeking daredevil who disappears for month on end. Is Paul ready to prove he is ready for love, family and pack?
Terry Spear always entertains, and one of her many talents is to create a series that never gets old. Even if you miss a book or two, (horrors) each book seems to stand on its own from start to finish. Not too dark, not too heavy, but filled with twists, side stories and romance, Ms. Spears assures that there is pure entertainment all the way.

What can I say about this book? Well Ms Spear and her Seal wolf team are back and true to form this authors given us a completely different type of story. It's an engaging read featuring two characters Paul and Lori who both know they have something tangible between them but it's been ignored for far too long. When Paul returns home to his pack he comes up against a wily woman ( Lori's grandmother ) who manipulates him into a batchelor auction and then steps back to watch the sparks fly. Lori has steadfastly carried on without her true mate Paul but thrown together it's almost impossible to ignore the tension anymore. What really works here is the fact that the romance and mating is not the only thing going on in this book. The author has sketched out a plot involving treachery amongst the other wolves and it's quite harrowing to read such an emotional story. This couple may have avoided the issue between them before but with this book they finally face the truth which makes for an entertaining read that's not too light but has just enough angst and humour to capture this readers attention. Part of a series I admit but this works very well as a standalone. I love the cover too. So an alpha wolf who's a Seal? Yes I hear my ovaries sitting up and taking notice! Recommended for lovers of shifter stories who also enjoy military romance I was gifted a copy of this in exchange for an honest review
What could be better than a book about Seal Special Forces...maybe one with a wolf shifter who is part of a Seal Special Forces team? Definitely! SEAL Wolf Hunting by Terry Spear delivers with an action packed romance that you will not want to put down.
Paul Cunningham is home from a tough mission. He is looking for a little down time before the next mission comes calling. Too bad his fellow pack mates have other plans for him. Paul is not thrilled to be part of a bachelor auction despite the worthy cause. Lori Greypaw has had feelings for Paul since they were cubs. When her grandmother wins Paul in the auction, Lori knows her grandmother has more than home improvement on her mind. Will this time together show Paul that staying state-side has its benefits?
Paul is one sexy wolf shifter who is part of a special Seal team comprised of all shifters. He is a born leader who loves helping others and the thrill of the mission. Lori teaches martial arts. She is a loving grand-daughter and helps the pack as much as she can. Nothing like close quarters to add to the sexual tension. Will Lori and Paul give in to their desires? This was another enjoyable read by Terry Spear. I look forward to the next one.
Seal wolf Paul Cunningham is a bit surprised to go from the auction block to fixing up a mountain cabin with Lori Greypaw but he’s on more solid ground when he has to protect the woman’s he’s falling for in this howling good paranormal romance. This is a DNF review (did not finish). I'm usually a fan of Ms. Spear and I have enjoyed many of her books, however I was not able to get into this book. It just felt that nothing really happened so I set it aside. Thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks for a review copy of this book.
4 stars. overall a good read with all the heart and action that i expect from a Spear novel, though the end seemed a little rushed. Full review coming soon.
The paranormal romance had a good beginning, exciting ending and I did like the main characters but the middle was kind of slow going. It was mostly the hero and heroine ruminating on why they have been apart for so long. Ex-Navy SEAL wolf-shifter Paul is home from one of his rescue missions and gets thrown together with she-wolf Lori, a woman he always thought was special.
Terry Spear is back with yet another delightful and delicious read. In her 16th Heart of the Wolf Series Book, Ms. Spear returns to the her Seal Team, to the last of the unmarrieds..
Lori Greypaw is one of the last wolves standing.. The pack had been decimated years before and what was left has moved on. But a small amount remain (a very small amount). Lori is pretty much the acting Alpha because the man who should be Alpha, the man she has loved forever, refuses to stay home and accept the job. But her Grandma has something up her sleeve and the charity auction plays a huge part.
Paul Cunningham has managed to avoid his responsibilities for years. He doesn't want to be the pack Alpha, he doesn't feel he deserves it. But when he comes home between missions, he is conned into a bachelor auction and won by Lori Greypaw's granny. Only she isn't trying to match them up. Nope she wants Paul to do some fixing up at her cabin. Hmmmmmm sure Lori is going to help but it seems she really does just want him to work on the cabin.. Man is she slick...
Paul and Lori discover that sure they had childish feelings for each other but these days their hearts are more mature and what they are finding together is worth fighting for. Of course there are some issues that must first be resolved.. And some thugs from a neighboring pack seem to have less than honorable intentions but Paul and Lori have begun to discover something worth fighting for.
Ms. Spear writes her Heart of a Wolf Series in a meandering style. Sometimes the books are connected and sometimes they skip to another pack only vaguely attached. But it doesn't matter what or who she writes about she tells stories that have a rich and full history. Her packs are connected if for no other reason than because they really all are intertwined.
I enjoy this series and always look forward to reading what Ms. Spears decides to share with us. Now if I can just figure out how to get one of her stuffed creations I would be a happy camper.
Thanks Terry.. As Usual a book to savor.

What’s not to love? A hottie Navy SEAL – and an Alpha wolf all rolled into one! Paul Cunningham has an exciting and wonderful life with a career he loves working with other Navy SEAL shifters who tackle only the most exciting and dangerous of jobs. After the last perilous mission where they were able to save only three out of four victims Paul and his best buddy Allen have come home for some R&R. Unbeknownst to either of them, Allen’s family of mother and sister, had just enough of a heads up that they have nominated both the men to take part in a “Honey-Do” bachelor auction!
One of the other surprises was that Lori Greypaw - the one woman that has held Paul’s interest for years, has finally shown up rather than take off whenever Paul came home. In Lori’s mind her disappearing whenever Paul was in town was for self-preservation. Lori knew how much she wanted Paul, but knew she couldn’t take the stress of waiting to discover whether he would be back in one piece, or at all, when he would go off on deployment missions leaving her waiting behind.
Paul himself was home and seeing and spending time with Lori was great and even he was beginning to evaluate his globe trotting life, and how he was beginning to feel such a connection to the land he grew up on. He was finally beginning to see how much Lori meant to him and how unfair it had been for him to be gone while the women he cared for were left pretty much to fend for themselves, especially since some unattached lone wolves were in town and trying to stake claims on the women he considered family.
The story was pretty much action packed as I seemed to have zoomed right through the 350+ pages that made up the book. I also liked that Paul and Lori were taking things slow to reestablish their friendship and trust before getting romantic. The suspense and the anxiety were rather low key, but Paul and Allen’s last mission made up the lack of high action in the plotting. What else I found enjoyable was the tasteful sensual scenes that gave enough information but didn’t have to go over the top with blow-by-blow graphic detail.
Bottom line: SEAL WOLF HUNTING is a very good and highly enjoyable read which most folks who enjoy high action military romance should find enjoyable.
Terry Spear’s SEAL Wolf Hunting is a successful addition as the sixteenth book in the Heart of the Wolf Series. SEAL/werewolf Paul Cunningham has been unknowingly volunteered as a bachelor in a local charity auction. He was won by the Grandmother of fellow werewolf, Lori Greypaw, in an attempt to set the two up while renovating her mountain cabin. This contemporary paranormal romance takes place in Montana. It is suitable for adult audiences.
I really enjoyed SEAL Wolf Hunting. It was a fun fast paced story that kept me entertained. It was full of excitement and fantastic characters. I could totally picture the women of the pack matchmaking. Lori and Paul have been friends for years. They are a wonderful couple with fantastic chemistry. The plot was carefully thought out and executed. SEAL Wolf Hunting is full of action, excitement, romance, and humor. Terry Spear has done a fantastic job with this series. Every individual story is amazingly different while simultaneously staying true to the series.

I love shifter stories in general and I enjoyed this one. Even though this is the sixteenth book in the series, there was enough background included that I didn't feel lost. Everyone has obviously been waiting for Paul and Lori to get together already, but with Paul's work as a SEAL, he hasn't been ready to settle down. Lori isn't willing to get too close to him until he decides to do just that. There are also a lot of pack dynamics here. Everyone is waiting for Paul to lead their tiny pack but he hasn't been ready to do that, either. Great story that kept me reading.
I've been a fan of Terry Spear's wolf books for years, so I was disappointed in this one. It's not bad, just not up to her standard. The two MCs were very dithery, constantly rethinking and overthinking their relationship - an everything else - without ever talking about their issues. Add a plat that was rather disjointed, with a too convenient ending, and it just wasn't as satisfying as most of her books.
•••••••••••••••
REVIEW: 3.25 stars--SEAL WOLF HUNTING is the sixteenth installment in Terry Spear’s Heart of the Wolf paranormal romance series. This is Navy SEAL and alpha wolf Paul Cunningham, and martial arts instructor/wolf Lori Greypaw’s storyline-a friends to lovers/fated mating romance between two people who have known one another since their childhood. SEAL WOLF HUNTING can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty.
Told from dual third person perspectives SEAL WOLF HUNTING follows Paul and Lori as they rekindle their friendship and potential relationship upon Paul’s return to civilian life. Paul and his fellow SEAL Allan have been enlisted as potential prizes in the town’s bachelor honey-do auction, and several women have their eyes set on the Pack Alpha. When Paul and Lori begin working on her grandma’s log cabin, their attraction to one another builds. Meanwhile a series of bank robberies has the townsfolk on edge, and the return of three rogue wolves threatens the peace within Paul and Lori’s pack.
The prior relationship between Paul and Lori has already been established. Paul has yet to ask Lori to be his mate, but everyone knows it is only a matter of time. There is an outside threat to Paul’s relationship with Lori, one that finds Lori on the receiving end of some harassment and threats. The $ex scenes are limited; there are no graphic details or over the top erotic scenarios. But, saying that, the emotional and romantic connection between our leading couple is not readily apparent; their mating felt disconnected to the storyline-it was as though it was something that was expected of our couple, and they went ahead and mated for the sake of the Pack. I didn’t feel the desire or the love. Compared to Terry’s other novels, SEAL WOLF HUNTING had a different vibe and exposition, as though someone else wrote the story.
The secondary characters include Paul’s best friend and second in command Allan, and his sister Rose. We are also introduced to the extended family and friends, and several newcomers as the pack begins to expand under Paul and Lori’s lead.
SEAL WOLF HUNTING is a simple read but the writing style felt jumpy; there was an uneven flow to the text, as though details were missing or presumed. The storyline is entertaining in its’ presentation; the characters are engaging and colorful; the happily ever after not unexpected. There is a new threat to the shifters, one that must be investigated, as it affects all of the wolves throughout the series.
If you are a fan of shifter storylines, Terry Spear’s HEART OF THE WOLF is an enjoyable series with happily ever afters for all of her leading characters.
I highly recommend SEAL WOLF HUNTING to anyone who enjoys fun, howling-delicious paranormal romances!
"Do you know how to use a pool cue?" Paul asked her. "To play pool or to fight?" she asked as Paul pulled the door open and Allan went in first. "Balls are my specialty."
SEAL WOLF HUNTING by Terry Spear was soooo good! It's a fast-paced, action-riddled, swoon-worthy read with engaging characters and the perfect mix of suspense and romance. If you love Terry's wolf tales, you definitely don't want to miss this one! I would be remiss if I didn't mention that smokin' hot cover that adorns this book!
While this is actually the third book in Terry's SEAL Wolf series, it can easily be enjoyed as a standalone since the romantic relationship and the development of the danger plot are fully contained within this story. Furthermore, that's true of any book in this series. SEAL Wolf Series: A SEAL in Wolf's Clothing (Book 1) A SEAL Wolf Christmas (Book 2) SEAL Wolf Hunting (Book 3)
SEAL WOLF HUNTING is the story of Paul Cunningham, an ex-Navy Seal, who is now doing the same type of work he did as a Seal in the quasi-military, and Lori Greypaw, a sexy, unmated she-wolf.
I really liked both the hero and the heroine. They were each strong, genuine characters who were easy to relate to. Paul and Lori had history. They'd known each other since they were children. Lori's had a crush on Paul for years, but has made herself scarce when he's around as she didn't want to mate with Paul who was gone almost all the time with his globe-trotting military career.
Their pack had suffered an horrendous event years ago. Much of the pack lost their lives back then, including Paul's and Lori's parents. Paul's parents had been the pack leaders. As all the remaining men left to pursue military careers, the pack evolved to become a women-only group, of which Lori was one. Paul knows that the pack would be happy to accept his leadership, if he decided to settle down, but up till now, he'd not been motivated to do so.
As the story opens, Paul is home on a short leave after a particularly traumatic mission, when he discovers he's been placed on a charity auction block. Lori's match-making grandmother bids on him and wins his services. Paul's work assignment will be fixing up her lakeside cabin with Lori as his workmate. So, his childhood friend who is now a fetching she-wolf, and who has been avoiding him on his previous trips home, will be working alongside him. Wanna' bet there'll be some sparks?
Lori is no push-over. She wants a full-time, responsible mate, not one who is gone on dangerous adventures all the time. Will Paul decide he wants to settle down? If so, how can he convince Lori of his change of heart? Add in some poachers, troublesome renegade wolves, and oodles of sweet and heat for a totally engrossing read!
SEAL Wolf Hunting is one of those books that I went into assuming I was going to love but sadly it was just an okay read. Were there parts that I loved? Absolutely! But there wasn't anything truly remarkable about it either, unfortunately.
I haven't read the first fifteen books in this series but I figured this far into it it shouldn't be an issue and luckily, I was right. I'm sure we met the hero, Paul, and a few of the side characters in the previous books but I didn't feel lost at all going into this one.
Paul and his SEAL Wolf buddy, Allan, are going home for vacation after a grueling mission in the Amazon jungle. When they get home they learn that their family has signed them up for a bachelor auction and being the good guys that they are, they show up for the auction and do their thing.
Lori, a she-wolf in Paul's pack and a friend of his growing up, has wanted to mate with him forever but didn't want to pressure him when she knew he wasn't ready to settle down. When Lori's grandmother wins Paul at the auction so that he can help Lori at their family cabin, Lori knows that it's a ploy to get them to mate but she refuses to mate with him until he's ready to lead their pack.
There is so much going on in this one but luckily the building relationship didn't take too much of a backseat to all the action. I really enjoyed watching Paul work through his feelings for Lori and learn what's more important in life than the next big adventure. I did, however, have an issue with the "romance". One minute they're talking about mating to build the pack then they're claiming love and forever... I just wish that the I love you's were said first, I guess, rather than making the mating seem like it was being done for convenience rather than love.
Along with my issue with the romance, I felt that there was just way too much going on in this one. You have hunters, and bank robbers, and thunderstorms, and issues with other wolves, and a missing wolf in the Amazon, and Rose's secret and the drama that goes along with it... Anyway, it was just way too much for one book, in my opinion.
If you've enjoyed other books in Terry Spear's Heart of the Wolf series then I'm sure you'll enjoy this one too, and if you haven't read other books in the series don't let that deter you. Overall, it was an easy, enjoyable read but at the end of the day, I was looking for a little more.

SEAL Wolf Hunting is book sixteen in the Heart of the Wolf series by Terry Spear.
SEAL Wolf Hunting is not the strongest or best book in this series. I have to say my favorites are the ones with her Highlander Wolves, though I have liked others as well. The cover for this book is hot and attractive. The title was a little misleading in that I thought maybe we would get a little romantic suspense with this one, but nothing in that line happens. The best thing about this book is how Paul views his pack and how he changes his view point on his place in the pack.
Lori and Paul have a past. They grew up in the pack and both have liked each other, but neither has done anything to convince the other to commit. Lori and Paul’s relationship was low key and plan to me. I never truly believed either had stronger feelings for the other. They just fell together as a couple. I did like Lori. She had some great ideas to bring the pack closer and make it stronger and by the end I liked where the pack was at.
We get a new development about the wolves in this book. It has not shown up until now.
SEAL Wolf Hunting was an enjoyable read in this series, but it did not wow me. I do enjoy this series and that you don’t have to read it in order to understand the characters and world. I do recommend picking up this series, especially if you enjoy reading about wolves.

SEAL Wolf Hunting is #16 in a long and successful paranormal series about a group of SEAL military men who also happen to be wolf shifters. Because of their long life spans they can’t stay in the military for very long because someone is bound to notice that they never seem to age. Paul and his best buddy/quasi-brother Allen begin this story on assignment in the jungles of Central America rescuing college students who were taken hostage while doing research. When the rescue goes badly Paul is consumed with guilt. He and Allen head home for a vacation among members of their former pack. Lori is a female shifter in a female only pack. Decimated earlier by rabid wolves and werewolves, there aren’t many of them left and they have no leader. They all want Paul to come home to take that responsibility. The elder women act as matchmakers for Lori and Paul but the sparks were lit many years ago between them so it’s up to Lori and Paul to either mate or not. Meanwhile, some rogue shifters have moved into the territory and are harassing the women, a bank robber is on the loose, something is causing the weres to age prematurely, a cabin needs updating, an ancestor, missing for many years is found, a newly minted shifter is unsupervised, someone is pregnant with the father nowhere in sight, and Paul and Allen have to decide where their futures lie. Whew! That’s a lot of story packed into a little less than 400 pages of exciting romance and adventure. I have to admit that I’ve missed a book or three in this series but as always, Ms Spear doesn’t leave the reader in a fog. This could even be read as a stand alone but the background of the other stories that introduced the characters and the long-running plot about the Montana wolf packs makes it worthwhile to read all of them. There is a setup for the next story and the running mystery of the aging crisis, so I’m very eager for the next book! Highly recommended series and episode.
This novel was comically outrageous at times and emotional and thought provoking at others. Spear takes her readers on a high speed, intensely enjoyable ride that I won’t soon forget. The action scenes are just as vivid as the erotic ones, and romance hand friendship shine through at all times. All the while, Spear builds her world right before the audience’s eyes, without ever hampering their imagination.
Spears’ hot headed yet family oriented characters had me hooked. You can really see their animal and human sides shining through. It was a complex and rewarding mix. I loved how neither outshone the other. And the characters’ personalities themselves drew me in. I couldn’t have imagined a better couple to carry this story off. I fell completely in love with both of the main characters. Their pack drew me in as well. The thought of a ‘safe haven’ was perfect. The growing pack was great as a whole. The way that Spear had certain individuals stand out in the crowd was so realistic & lifelike. I can’t wait to get to know more about them. The spirit guide animal was an extra twist that really allows these shifters to stand out among the sea of shifter novels.
Fantastic addition to the series but can also easily be read as a standalone. I had a smile on my face throughout, even when the suspense had me on edge.

Usually, if the book is this far in the series, the story is either a recycle from a previous book or the characters are now repetitive and may even sound a lot alike. Fortunately, SEAL Wolf Hunting is a solid addition that has a good plot and great characters.
Let's talk about the characters, though. Individually, I love them both. The hero was a strong male who really belonged in the pack. The heroine was also great, and she wasn't demanding or anything like that. Together, though, they weren't as explosive as I would have liked. I think the fact that they've always liked each other but never really made any commitments kind of put me off when they finally got together.
Story-wise, I liked it. Although it wasn't the kind of romance and love story I hoped for, it was still an enjoyable read. The conflict and the way that the resolution was played out was good, exactly what I wanted. Also, this book can be read as a standalone, so if you're new to this series, you won't have to go back to the previous 15 books to get the whole thing.
I have to say, though, that Terry Spear really is a name to look for anytime you feel like reading about werewolves and all that stuff. When it comes to paranormal romance and urban fantasy, Ms. Spear undoubtedly gives her readers the kind of entertainment that they love. I hope that more books will come out for this series.
SEAL Wolf Hunting by Terry Spear is the 16th book in the Heart of the Wolf series, but could easily be read as a stand-alone novel. This one is about Lori Greypaw and Paul Cunningham. Paul is part of the Cunningham pack. He has spent most of his time away from the pack on missions with the SEAL wolf shifters. He and his partner Allen have come home for a two week vacation and Paul is determined to spend some time with Lori. She has avoided him the last few times he has visited.
Lori has known for years that she wanted Paul for her mate but doesn't want to force him to make a decision to stay home and take over the pack. She wants him to want to stay of his own free will. Ultimately this is what the book is about. There is a bit of mystery and suspense thrown in to keep things interesting as well.
SEAL Wolf Hunting was a good read but not my favorite of the series. It wasn't as romantic or interesting as I would have liked. It seemed like Paul and Lori put off getting together over and over again and then finally decided, might as well just do it. I just wasn't feeling the love. I felt the friendship and affection more than the romantic connection.

Spotlight, Review & Giveaway: SEAL Wolf Hunting by Terry Spear http://wp.me/p3d0RZ-2Jb Publication Date: July 7, 2015 Genre: Paranormal Romance Reviewed by: Reading in Pajamas/ Donna Rated: 3.5 Stars
REVIEW: This was a fun light paranormal romance with just enough danger to add to the story. I liked that it revolved around an alpha SEAL team member realizing that home is where he needs to be and the fun pack members waiting for him. I wish it had a little more fire but it was a nice contemporary romance revolving around wolves and a pleasant read.

I won this book in a Goodreads giveaway. It is book 3 in the series, but reads perfectly well as a standalone. Paul is a Navy SEAL coming back home for a well needed vacation. Lori is the want to be alpha mate, she is just waiting for Paul to settle down and realize it. They do face a few problems here and there, not in the least is Paul's realization that he is ready to settle down. Fighting a poacher hunter, bank robber, bad storms and few bad wolves. All in a day's work for a SEAL. Exciting, action, romance and great characters. Enjoy!
I love this series and have read all the books publishes previously in this series before I was given the option to read this book for free from Net Galley for a unbiased review.
I was very happy to see more from the SEAL team and especially Paul. I enjoyed his romancing of Lori and the fun little scenes in the plot like Emma's scheming and the bachelor auction! The plot was as well written as all the others in the series and the romance was perfection put to words! I always look forward to new books in this series.
Not as good as I remembered these being. With so much time in between you forget about the other characters in the series and that takes away from the story a bit. hopefully with the next one going back to the town I'll follow along without having to go back to catch up with the who's who.
Paul is a SEAL who is often away from his pack on missions, when he comes back from his latest mission, things are about to change. Lori has loved Paul forever and is willing to wait for him, will he finally take the reins and lead their pack? There's matchmaking, naughty omegas and a lot of she-wolves waiting for Paul to take Lori as mate and lead their pack. Good read.

Tag along in this exciting wolf tale of a friends-to-lovers troupe about an ex-SEAL wants more than a friendship with a sexy she-wolf he’d known since they were pups. SEAL Wolf Hunting is filled with witty dialogues, the dynamic of the pack, bank robbery, jungle rescues and whole lot of loving between two wolves.
