I loved the first part of the book. The second part of the book was almost like a new story. Where it had a very slow build up again, introduced a whole new bunch of characters and countries. Radiance is a cross between a human and a subterranean creature and hence can ...more

Scents & Senses is a YA fantasy that follows Starra - a 15-year-old teenager living on an island off the coast of California. Joy - a fairy-type creature has taken it upon herself to introduce her half-human sister Radiance to Starra so they can become friends. Only Joy breaks several of her people's rules in the process. When Starra learns that Joy is the one responsible for all the crazy things happening lately, she tells Joy to stay out of her life. Unfortunately this happens right before ...more

Imaginative plot.
Fun quirks throughout like calling humans five-toes.
