This cookbook includes all the recipes from the BBC TV series "Two Fat Ladies Ride Again", such as: cooking lunch at a motorcycle rally; a formal dinner for the officers of the Hussars regiment; tea for a cricket club; and a cocktail party at the Brazilian Embassy.
I really miss the Two Fat Ladies cooking program on television. I loved how much they enjoyed life and food. This book will bring back memories for those of you who watched the show. The recipes aren't complicated at all. If I can make them, you can too. The ingredients aren't that difficult to find in the USA. It's a joy to read even without making the recipes. Clarissa and Jennifer are funny and it's worth reading the book just for the anecdotes alone.
Humour and cooking, life lessons and food. Most recipes are not ones I would make - way too much fish in the breakfast section for me, however there are some that look great and the write ups on each recipe are wonderful. I think I'll avoid the haggis recipes, ditto the pigeon and the pheasant.
Garlic Soup with Poached Eggs - looks great, I can hardly wait to try it.
Doesn't Chocolate, Orange and Hazelnut Mousse sound good? However, does anyone know how big a dessertspoon is? The recipe calls for 3 dessertspoons of milk - I can translate British to Canadian when it comes to weights but I'm lost on this one.
