Sometimes trying new to me authors and series out of the blue can really pay off dividends. I knew I was getting a shifter romance and that's what I wanted, but it was the author's approach that was really satisfying and neat.

This story starts off with a human guy out for a camping trip interrupting a crazy werewolf set on treating a couple of women as prey. Grey's act of heroics saves one of the women, but in the process it changes his life forever. He becomes the monster he stopped and he is f

I thought this was an interesting take on the werewolf genre- the legends, I thought, made it unique. There are a lot of werewolf books out there so it's good when you get one that's a bit different.

I liked that the story began in Grey's POV and then only when several chapters in does it start to switch between the two characters POV's. It used the single POV at the start to focus on Grey's Change, and then the duel POV when the characters had a relationship and when it

This was SUPER cliched. Every aspect of it has been done and done better. What's more, a lot of it irritates the living daylights out of me.

Let's start with the fact that there are 4 women in it. 3 of them have been subject to violent male attacks. (And all we know is that no attack is mentioned for the fourth.) So, women are all victims. The hero is forced to rescue the heroine from a random rape. Because of course heroes always have to save their loves from ra

Excellent paranormal that pulled at my heartstrings in all the right ways. Grey is the perfect alpha. Looking forward to more in this series. Well done, Ms. Shanley!

At a mere hundred and eighty-seven pages Shanley managed to create the world, introduce us to a clan, give us history and share a sweet romance with strong characters. I consumed this in a single sitting, and found the concept and characters intriguing.

While camping in the woods Morgan Carter’s life changes when a mysterious stranger, Greyson Crawford, steps in and tries to save her sister from a vicious animal attack. He was badly wounded and in the confusion, he ran off. Morgan was unable to f

This book started off slow for me. The beginning of the story is told from Greyson's POV. I didn't really like how the author portrayed his changes. This was especially because they portray it differently in the end of the book.

I didn't get into the book until they brought in Morgan's POV. Then there was another side of the story, and she was developed much more likeable as a MC. I never could relate to Grey.

The last third of the book was pretty good. There was a lot more plot to it. More charac
I got this for free on Amazon back in January. I was interested in it because the series looked interesting and I was able to get the second book from Netgalley. The beginning of the book, started much like a typical werewolf horror story. Man out camping, hears something in the woods, checks it out find a large wolf terrorizing a woman, and ends up getting bitten by the werewolf. Cue the spooky music.

Grey's Beast, as he comes to find out, is rare and very very scary. When Grey finds Morgan, the

This was another one of those books that was just ok for me, which was surprising because I really liked the zombie apocalypse romance by the same author. Too me this was just too... nice?..I guess. Anyway it was mostly a love story and that’s fine because I like romance but it just lacked in intensity and emotion I think. I don’t see the point in making the characters wolves if the violence and fighting don’t get included. Every aspect was neat and defined and could be put into a speci

Here is a confession. I am mad about Urban Fantasy. I suppose everyone has “that genre” that they simply can’t live without, and this is mine. So, starting from that point, I was very pleased to be offered Silver Wolf Clan by Tera Shanley for a read-and-review.

The issue with some UF books, especially those involving werewolves, is that I have read so many that I often find myself bored. Been there, done that, and didn’t even pick up my T-shirt on the way out. Tara Shanley skirts that edge in th

So, let's say this maybe isn't your typical werewolf book. Yes there are some similarities that follow the werewolf genre, but there's some unique parts that make it pretty awesome. And there's two different plots. First, you have Grey who's just trying to learn to live again, and find his mate, protect her, make sure she's ok. But then, you have this mysterious thing that will affect Morgan that no one knows about yet. You don't find out about that plot until midway through the book, because s ...more

If you’re looking for a quick dip into the werewolf pool, SILVER WOLF CLAN would fit the bill nicely, I think. And I do mean quick – at just under 120 pages, it’s the perfect size for a rainy afternoon stuck inside with a little Alpha action.

I’m still not quite sure how I feel about the pacing in SILVER WOLF CLAN. In some respects, it was good pacing for a novella, but at the same time, it almost seemed to go too quickly. The initial meeting between Grey a

Lovely Paranormal Romance with Creative and Interesting Werewolf Mythos

Grey’s life changes forever the night he saves Morgan and her niece from a werewolf. The wolf bites him and leaves him for dead. Only he doesn’t die, he changes into- not only a werewolf- but the dominant wolf of them all. Without any friends to help him, he lives a lonely life until the werewolves find him. But, he doesn’t feel complete until he finds Morgan and has to have her for himself.

Story and title of this novella hint at an interesting story to unfold in the future. And I can't deny that the glimpses we got here are pretty good too. Mostly I liked the battle between Wolf and Man. Even if I sometimes bicker that this split personality disorder in PNR is weird, I found appealing (am I strange or what?) the darkness this battles ensue.

I liked seeing Gray battling for his sanity, trying to survive in a world gone impossibly strange all of a sudden. I liked the presence of a ch

This was my favorite type of shifter book, while it has an ending that could mostly stand alone, it also offers the opportunity for a follow up down the line (and I hope there will be a second book). But for the main plot the hero Grayson shows his true character by rescuing the heroine and her niece without ever knowing who they are. He is attracted to the heroine right from the start, but is almost killed saving them from a rogue wolf. After he survives the attack and finds that he is now a we ...more

I loved how Grey was always open and honest with Morgan, "I have a pack, sort of, and we all play rough when we run. The scars will go away. I only got them yesterday, so they're still fresh." Okay, that didn't answer her question as thoroughly as she'd hoped. "You look upset," he said. "What's wrong? I can stop talking about this stuff. I know it's a lot to take in, and I'm sorry." I mean the boy just doesn't lie to his woman, "dammit, could anything else go wrong? "Well," he said with an explo ...more

Morgan, her sister and her niece has been attacked by a werewolf. Greyson was around and when he heard the screams, he ran to help them. Unfortunately, it was already too late for Morgan's sister but he could still save Morgan and Lana. He sacrificed his humanity to do that. They'll meet again one year later, when he'll save her again. The thing is, he's a werewolf now and a dominant. His wolf fights him constantly to have more control over his body. He lives a lonely life now, because he can't ...more

I was pleasantly surprised with this book. I love wolf/shifter stories and was pleasantly surprised while reading this one. I did have a few concerns about some of the transitions between scenes, but it didn’t take away from the enjoyment of the story.

I really enjoyed the unique twist on the shifter lineage and the plot had my attention the whole way through. I would have loved more details about the wolf pack and I hope we get those in future books.

I also enjoyed the fact that profanity and se

This is a relatively short read but a refreshing start to a series that I will be following. Grey and Morgan meet when a wolf attacks Morgan, her sister, and her sister's child; Grey comes on scene defending them from the wolf and in the resulting attack changes. We mainly follow Grey in this story which had a refreshing take on the werewolf story line. I don't want to spoil the story any more but I will say we are given a happy ending, but an open ending with the chance to take this series into ...more

The story line is strong and the book comands your attention. This isnt your typical werewolf story line , it doesnt play by the same rules as others of this type do. What I loved about this book was the inner fight between the wolf and man or woman instead of being one together they seem to have completely differ ...more

This was such a quick easy werewolf romance. Grey and Morgan's romance is a romance built over time, but the absence between meetings allow for a quick paced read. As a bonus you not only meet these two great characters, but you are also introduced to this Pact that promises many adventurous stories. There was no friction between mates, or drastic displays of emotions, but it was absolutely every bit the entertaining paranormal read. Great for an fast journey of love and supernatural.

After recently reading and loving a book with werewolves as the main characters I really felt like I needed to read another shapeshifter genre book and I've had this one on my list and my kindle for a while so decided it was about time I read it.

The cover is quite dark suggesting night time, there is moonlight and in the background there is a silver wolf. In the foreground is a woman who upon reading the book you realise is Morgan who has long dark hair and blue, almost purple eyes. The co

This is definitely a short read, although I didn't mind. It's fun and easy to digest and its pretty much what I'm in there mood for. It's got just enough romance (without being a freaking porno), just enough werewolf badass-ness, and just enough dark and twisted to keep me interested.

I downloaded Silver Wolf Clan as a free novella from Amazon. A good story with engaging characters. A few parts could possibly be enhanced with more explanation or detail, but overall a lot of information to help with the worldbuilding.

Pretty good

Every fantasy book handles the theme differently but I thought this was pretty decent in its story line. I enjoyed reading it even though I'm not much for romance books.

Greyson was out hiking when he hears a girl’s scream and ran to help. He ended up being bitten by the wolf that attacked her and her family, and almost dying but instead turned into a werewolf. He has been trying to survive for the last six months as the beast he thinks he is, especially since his inner wolf is aggressive and dominant. A local pack finds him and attempts to help him control himself and assimilate back into society. When Grey picks up the scent of the woman he saved a year ago, h ...more

What a cool start to a new series! I loved Tera's Zombie novel, and was super happy to hear that she had this shifter book coming out!!!

Grey's world is turned upside down and inside out one night while camping in the woods and he comes to the rescue of 2 women and a child being attacked by a wolf. He jumps in and gets bitten but still manages to save one woman and the child. He wakes up after the event and discovers monsters are real, and he is one of them. Initially, this seemed to start out with a lot of promise to be something really good. It didn't take all that long though to get pretty frustrated. This book starts to introduce different potentials for really interesting options or directions the story can take, but seems to only ever just touch on them. Enough to keep the reader wondering if what they just read had an important significance to future events or was something else entirely, but never giving enough to actually define it or solid ...more

Born and raised in small town Texas, Tera Shanley grew up in books. Her cousin gifted her a signed copy of Beauty by Bill Wallace when she was young and that was it for her. So smitten was she with getting lost in a story, that while other eleven year olds her age were groaning at the accelerated reader program in school, she was racking up the points just for fun.
