I didn't want this book to end. Not after it kept me up, reading long after I should've turned off my iPad and gone to sleep. I solely blame the book and its author for the dark circles under my eyes. I'll admit I wasn't expecting this book to be what it was based on the title. But I learned a good lesson -- not only should you not judge a book by its cover, but don't even think about judging it by its title.

There is so much to love about this story. The characters, the plot, the phrasing, the w

When I first read the synopsis for this book, I was intrigued. College student who has a boyfriend from high school but yet finds herself attracted to not one but TWO college hotties? It sounded right up my alley. Throw in the fact that there is also a mysterious element to the storyline and I knew I would be in book heaven while reading this one!

And I was right!

Jasmine (Jazz) is a freshman at Sutton University. She seems like the typical new colleg

Jasmine, also known as Jazz, is harbouring a secret as to why she chose to attend Sutton College. Leaving behind her boyfriend of three years, she decides to enrol at a college, which is actually beneath her academically. Once she arrives as Sutton, she immediately becomes friends with her roommate Audrey.

Jazz is by far a no holds barred kind of girl. She is not one who likes to party and most definitely has no problem getting in someone’s face. When she finally gives in to attend a party, she m

I must say that I am supremely dismayed to find that this author has chosen not to continue this series. This book was great. It was fun and interesting and I wanted to know what was going to happen next. According to the reviews, everyone who read it enjoyed it. Unfortunately this book is no longer for sale. If the author reads this, I hope she reconsiders her decision. Best of luck to you, Kelly Killarney. Thanks for the read.

I gave this book 3 very solid stars for what I believe would have be

I really enjoyed this story. It was fun to solve the mystery right along with the characters. I wasn't 100% invested in the characters, though I will say that I really liked Brennan - a lot. I thought he was adorable and I would love to learn more about him, which I think may be a possibility with the following book(s) in the series.

Her Dark Places follows the main character, Jazz (or Jasmine), and her start as a fre

I seriously need to get back to reading more mysteries, because I love them! They are one of my favorite genres, and I like the guessing game. I don't think I've read an NA mystery yet, so I was excited to for this one. And I have to say, I really enjoyed it!

"I wasn't here to party. But I wasn't exactly here to learn, either. I had my own agenda. And that was something no one could know."

"My anger motivated me. And that wasn't always a bad thing."

Kelly Killarney takes a unexpected turn on mystery and romance. This book is the first in a new series that this author is undoubtedly inspiring readers with a reeling suspense thriller and most importantly a romantic twist of growing up, pain, and love.

Jazz is starting out her freshman year at college, leaving behind her family and her loving boyfriend Graham. She lucked out with a great roommate, but Brennan, the hottie down the hall, was an unexpected temptation that wasn’t in her plans. She may be a freshman at Sutton College just like the rest of her class, but she’s got more in mind than just a higher education. Her secret has her on edge and raring for a fight, and it just happens to come in handy when her roommate becom

Her Dark Places immediately got my attention with the summary “Veronica Mars meets Felicity” – both shows I loved for completely different reasons. And after reading this first installment I can definitely see why it is being pitched this way.

Jasmine Holloway has recently started her freshman year at Sutton College. Jazz is currently dealing with the stress of a long-distance boyfriend, homework and exams… but add in the temptation in boy form that lives down the hall named Brennan and she just

When I was contacted by the author for the opportunity to read and review Her Dark Places, I jumped at the chance as soon as I read the blurb. While I tend to shy away from book descriptions promising the book will be enjoyed by fans of X or Y, Veronica Mars is one of my all-time favorite shows and I was completely intrigued. I'm so, so glad I decided to read this book.

Jazz was a kickass heroine. She was smart, sassy and protective of her friend

Her Dark Places was pitched to me as Veronica Mars meets Felicity, which is basically my dream book. I have to say that it really lived up to this for the most part, so A+ to the author for making accurate comparisons. The book features a Veronica Mars-esque snarky heroine who champions her friends and can lash out and act rashly when hurt. The Felicity aspect comes in with Jazz starting her first year at college, settling in and forming new relationships, with Audrey, her roommate, and with Sea ...more

This is great book and an excellent start to a new series. I could not find other works by this author so I'm assuming this is her first outing. And it is very well done.

Her Dark Places combines mystery and romance in a college setting. Jazz (Jasmine), our heroine, is strong, intelligent and feisty. I liked her immediately. The author introduces us to a cast of characters including her room mate, fellow students both male an

This book was given to me in exchange for an honest review. The Sutton Files is the beginning of an awesome series. I wasn't sure what to expect when I started reading this novel. There is mystery, romance and hidden secrets. Many people come to college as freshmen hoping for a fresh start. They want a new beginning. Audrey and Jazz are new roommates at Sutton College and quickly become really good friends. Audrey is escaping an unhappy high school experience. Jazz is away from her boyfriend of ...more

I enjoyed this New Adult mystery! It was full of suspense, had like-able characters, and it kept me on the "edge of my seat".
Jazz is a freshman at Sutton College who makes friends with her roommate Audrey.
As the girls enjoy the college life, they start receiving intimidating threats.
One thing leads to another, and it keeps you guessing throughout the book.
Everyone has their own secrets - but some secrets can kill.

This was a very mild romance. Her Dark Places relies solely on the mission to find a killer, but the romance an adventure that accompanies the story give it an addictive nature. Once I had started the story curiosity was my leading motivator. I just had to see what would happen, and found myself guessing at the ending. I expected a bit more of a conclusive ending, but as far as stories go it is a great one. It is engaging and suspenseful, and a great debut for the series. I am honestly a little ...more
