I was really looking forward to Alex's story. Alex sees himself as bland, boring, someone people never notice and can't remember five minutes after having met him. That might be okay if you're doing secret government agent stuff, but Alex works with the crew from Rescue for Hire. Alex is their tracker and he can find anyone, anywhere. What he needs though, is for someone to see him and love him for who he is.
Tony is a member of their team and, unfortunately, his cousin Leo is a big-time celebrity chef. When Leo needs a place to come to destress, by order of his doctor, Tony agrees to let his cousin come and stay with him. Leo has quite the reputation and it's because he's spent so many years burning the candle at both ends that he's in serious risk of major health problems. There's more to Leo though than what the gossip rags report, and he's eager to show this side to Alex.
Alex doesn't just want someone who loves him and sees him. He also needs a dominant lover as Alex has quite the submissive personality. Leo fits the bill to a tee. Except Alex has a tough time believing this gorgeous man, the man of his dreams, would ever be satisfied with plain old Alex. I wanted to smack him several times for not having more confidence in himself, but I understood that his history with men had played a huge part in his thinking.
'Leo's Pet' turned out to be even better than I had hoped. It had some angst (some I didn't even see coming) and a very touching love story. Of course the sex was nothing to sneeze at either. A wonderful addition to the series that has me looking forward to more.

Great fun !! Different series of M/M romance ! We open with a domestic violence rescue. These tough guys are different because they work in the dangerous jobs and do exciting rescues. Leo is a man who is a famous chef, who has burned himself out and is resting with team member Tony, his cousin. He is a tailored, a beautiful man, and a Dom.
Alex is on the team as a tracker with the help of his wonderful bloodhound, Bud. Later, they save a girl trapped in a thorny patch, and Alex finds himself in the hospital, badly injured from the recovery rescue. Leo stays with him and never leaves his side. Leo wants Alex as his very own "pet". He's a Dom, but wants to baby his man, not beat him. Alex is very interested, because he wants what Leo is offering. His childhood was one of rejection and no touching, so he is starved for that behavior, and Leo provides it in spades.
After many talks, when they do have their hot sex, it's for real and a claiming, a deeper meaning is there. Deep characters, an interesting story, and terrific writing make this a great book. This series is full of action and excitement, the stories are short, maybe 1 and 1/2 hours each, with bad guys, rescue, and fun to read.
I think they can be stand alone, but are richer if you know the previous people's tales.
Highly recommend !

Alex is the team’s tracker. He gets seriously injured in a rescue and is facing a lawsuit! He meets Leo in the hospital – he’s the cousin of Tony and a famous “playboy” chef.
As per usual, once Leo spots Alex he instantly knows he’s “the one” but Alex wavers a bit.

This is a little different from the others in that Leo and Alex have a serious D/s relationship too, so they have to work out those particulars in addition to the normal “getting to know you” stuff.
I love this series and Darcy Stark never disappoints in his narrations. This wasn’t my favorite only because I really don’t like the dynamics of BDSM – even though it’s done to only a light degree here.

i didn't like this because Leo make love to Alex while he is injured. i mean, come on u could have waited when Alex is better. And Alex is injured at his hips hello the most used part of the body when making love. hence the 3 stars...

I really liked it! I thought the story was cute and had pretty much been on par with the series so far.
I do wish that Alex's appearance hadn't been criticized so much. I mean the author was basically saying that Leo had a thing for ugly guys. The fact that Alex was repeatedly called unattractive made the relationship a touch unbelievable. But the book was still a cute before bed read. .

I have rated the first three books 2 stars. This one only gets 1 because there is even less character and plot development, and has a horrible cliff hanger.
Now unfortunately I have to wait for the next book.

El rastreador experto del equipo, Alex Taylor, sigue con su vida como de costumbre, invisible para todos los que lo rodean. Luego conoce al precioso Leo DeLuca. Cuando el famoso chef le dice que está muy interesado, Alex no puede creerlo. Desafortunadamente, su primera reunión se ve interrumpida cuando Alex es llevado a una misión de rescate.
Gravemente herido durante la misión de rescate, Alex se sorprende al despertar en el hospital con Leo junto a su cama.
Este es sin duda el libro que menos me ha gustado, no pude conectar con ninguno de los dos protagonistas, no sé en realidad el tal Leo que clase de persona es, y tampoco lo sabe Alex, solo sabe que es el primo famoso de Tony, su compañero de equipo. Sin embargo, cuando Alex se acerca a la mesa donde esta DeLuca y este lo ve y le saluda ya con eso Alex decide que está enamorado y que va a obedecer a este Dom... supuesto Dom. En fin. DeLuca ve a Alex y ve a alguien con suficiente complejo de inferioridad y suficientes deseos de complacer y ser visto como para convertirlo en su "mascota".
No me gustó. El super-mega-insta-love volvió a superarse. No hubo tiempo de conectar con los personajes y ellos ya estaba en conexión +100, asi que no entendí que vió el uno en el otro, es que no tuvieron tiempo de verse o hablar ni siquiera 5 minutos antes de que Alex tuviera el accidente y estuviera en el hospital bajo el atento ojo de DeLuca reclamando que era suyo...

Leo es un chef bastante reconocido, no solo por su trabajo sino también por la mala fama que tiene. Así que decide alejarse un tiempo de todo eso e irse al condado Granite a buscar un poco de paz... Y encuentra algo más también un hombre. Y no olvidemos que también está la mujer tóxica y loca que está embarazada y reclama que Leo vuekba con ella.
Con la cantidad de libros que llevo leidos de esta autora ya se me empieza a confundir todo. Pero lo que si tengo claro es que: GENTE PARA EL SEXO ORAL TAMBIÉN SE USA CONDÓN (y no lo digo por este libro, sino por la mayoría de esta serie). Muchas gracias.
Este libro originalmente le di 2,5 💫 así que estipuló que solo paso desapercibido. Pero si volverse a saber un poco más de estos personaje en otro libro (puntualmente Boone's Cowboy)

Well, I didn’t hate it.
I suppose for the most part responsible for this development is that I have become used to the way this series works (and its many shortcomings) and that I still enjoy Treb.
The main guys in this book? That kind of D/s is not really my thing – although it clearly is the author’s since most of the books thus far feature something along those lines. That caretaking aspect on speed. Particularly after serious injury. Now that bit appears to be a mainstay.
Anyway, the guys here? Eh, they were pretty much cardboard examples of those types of Dom and sub; not much in the way of personality otherwise.
I really would appreciate more relationship development and less sex. (Although, admittedly, the sex only starts up comparatively late. For this kind of book, I mean.)
It just boggles my mind that anyone would attempt to .

The author really dropped the ball with this one. No character development or even plot, really. It seems there were a few ideas but they're just randomly stuck in the story with no real conclusion. The huge, numerous time skips don't help.

Approx 56 pages of story. Leo and Alex's story. Leo is a Chef and is Tony's cousin. Insta love, never to be parted, nothing going to stand in the way love.
