From the moment I opened "Silent Paladin," I knew I was in for an extraordinary journey, but nothing could have prepared me for the sheer depth and richness that BV Sloan has woven into this sequel. The world-building is nothing short of phenomenal; I found myself completely immersed in the realm of Ippila, with its stories of what was one breathtaking landscapes and the lurking dangers posed by the hideous beasts that roam the lands now. It's a world that invites exploration, even if some of its inhabitants are best avoided!
Havi, our fiercely resilient protagonist, continues to navigate the treacherous waters of love and duty in a way that kept me on the edge of my seat. I found myself verbally shouting at her as she faced the impending threats from characters whose motives were all too clear to me. This series is mesmerising.
It has an urban fantasy meets medieval worldbuilding feel, filled with monsters, dangerous magic, and forbidden love.
Following the events in Dark Aria, Havi has to adapt to this new realm, try to forget her feelings for Ren, and conceal her forbidden abilities and dark powers. Unfortunately her emotions control her, and her intense powers keep slipping through causing devastation to the realm and threatening to expose her secrets.
Revealing her true heritage means death, revealing who she loves means death, now she can only hope to make allies, learn to control her magic, and hope she and her loved ones survive the political and royal mess she's landed in.
I have been loving the character growth, and seeing Havi's powers develop. Her magic is intense, and she can literally shatter the world if she wanted too. There are emotional scenes, vulnerable moments, spicy encounters, and fun new characters in the mix.
I loved all the links back to Her Guard and how over time the truth has been lost and wars have been fought and continue to cause chaos and fear.
If you love feminine rage, steamy chemistry, mate bonds, intrigue, twists and high stakes, this is the series to read. Plus those bonus scenes were the spicy icing on the cake.

This story is so intense. I’m blown away at the authors ability to write these characters and their story.
The creatures are unique as well as the magic abilities. I love Havi, the fmc. She’s built like a real woman and endures real women body issues but she’s confident in her own skin. She’s very powerful but her heart is even bigger than her magic. Ren, the mmc, is every woman’s dream with his sexiness, his love and devotion to Havi and of course he’s a badass.
The side characters are all intriguing, especially her two cats who might just be my favorite of all.
The world building is incredible and I can’t wait to see what happens in the final book. If you haven’t jumped into this series yet, don’t wait!

You've met "You touch her and YOU die" morally gray MMCs. But have you met an "I touch her and I die" morally gray MMC? If not, you're going to love Renwick.
I received an ARC and I'm so invested in Havi and Ren's story. This book has forbidden romance, spice, action, magic, and monsters. Sparks fly, from magic and from MAGIC. Theres two fluffy white cats that will crack you up. You won't be able to put it down. I can't wait to see what happens.

This book was phenomenal 👏 absolutely loved the storyline in this book. The betrayal in this book was jaw-dropping. Ren is just the perfect book boyfriend, and the spice was divine !!! Cannot wait to read the final book in this amazing series

Havi really goes on an emotional rollercoaster. With a new place and some confusing signals from Ren. That one attack scene (IYKYK) in her room you can feel her screaming her heartbreak.
Ren knows he f**ked up, letting her go. He’ll protect her at any cost but can’t keep himself away from her.
She learns alot about her contry and see things that she is unhappy with and wants to change. Which she fight to do.
Liam is an alley and has personal reasons to get Havi on the throne, so she can make those changes she has in mind. Plus he is an excellent scret keeper 😉

Havi comes into her own in this book. Struggling to control her emotions, her powers and her feelings for Ren, she is caught between wanting to help the people of a realm she only just learnt existed or fight for her freedom and the man she loves. While she questions the path she should take she needs to navigate power and politics and learn who she can trust in this strange new land.
If you love a morally grey character, you are going to love Ren. I didn't think it was possible but he is even more unhinged in this book and I am here for it. Still bound by his oath Ren knows that his feelings for his Queen will see him thrown in the Tournament but he doesn't care. He will do anything to protect Havi and see her take her rightful place while ensuring she gets the freedom she deserves.
Silent Paladin sees the return of favourite characters from Dark Aria while introducing new characters, some that you will immediately fall in love with, others that will make you question what you think you know about them and some you wish would be eaten by Havrick and Pork.
bv Sloan is a master in worldbuilding and character development. This book (number 2 if you don’t read the series starter Her Guard - but number 3 if you do which I highly suggest) is a mind blowing yet wild ride. It picks up right where the last book leaves off- getting you right back into the story and providing some immediate answers.
There’s tension. A LOT of tension. Miscommunication galore. But most importantly the love in this book is the heart wrenching kind. But in a good way. In the way that you feel it. And yes there is spice!
There is SO MUCH fun in this book- so many little breadcrumbs and situations for the reader to connect to the previous books, and situations where we sometimes know more than the characters which is infuriating and enthralling all in one.

This book just completely and fully WRECKED me. Ren was his most unhinged self, Havi was coming into her own in the best way, and I trusted absolutely no one. Everything that could go wrong went even worse. Every. Single. Thing. And I knew that things would go even worse before the end. And it went horribly, awfully, terrifyingly wrong.
If you enjoy having your heart ripped out of your chest, stomped on, torn into pieces, and then set on fire, this book is perfect for you.
It also has an unhinged MMC with serious 'touch her and perish' vibes, amazing character growth, shadow magic, creepy monsters... you know, all the fun things.

What another great book in the series.
Silent Paladin starts right where Dark Aria ends.
We enter Ippila with Havi and Ren.
The character growth continues in this book for both MC.
We meet some new characters that quickly won my heart and some that needed to be fed to the twins.
I loved reading how each relationship grew and trying to work out who might not be what they come across as.
The plot in the story thickens, there is more mystery around the fog and who Havi might actually be.
I cannot wait for the last book I need answers to all my questions.

Wow...!
bv Sloan wrote another incredible book.
It took me less than 2 days to finish this book. If I didn't have kids, I probably would have read it straight through.
It had me whimpering for more. It manages to be sweet, filled with action, intrigue, and erotic as hell.
I need more. I feel like I will be jumping in my seat, just waiting to read the next book!

I have fallen in love with this story and it's amazing characters!

We are taken right into Ippila where Havi is still trying to learn to control her magic, caught between wanting to fight for her freedom and the man she loves or stay and become the ruler the realm and its people so desperately need.
Havi must learn to control her emotional outburst, to be able to prove to the people of Ippila that she will not follow in her Ancestors footsteps.
The people of Ippila are starving and war looms, Havi must decide whether to stay and fight and risk not only her freedom but the love of her Crux.
" I took her from one cage and locked her in another. Only in this one I wasn't her companion, I was her Jailor"
Ren, Still Bound by the oath to protect his queen and willing to die doing so. Ren has one mission and one mission only, Give Havi the Freedom she deserves even if means he will die in the process.

I. AM. SPEECHLESS! Havi is fast approaching the top of my favorite FMC list. What I’m loving…. A curvy, body positive FMC who knows her worth. She’s not afraid to step up and USE HER WORDS to fight for what SHE feels is right. She’s definitely got baddie energy and won’t go down without a fight. What I love even more is that even though she’s fierce and strong willed, she’s still learning how to control and work through her feelings and emotions. Havi makes me want to go out and slay the day just like her. And RENWICK omg SWOON! The twists and turns will keep you on your toes through this installment. More magic. More monsters. More villains.
