Quality is a much mentioned but little employed component of project success. There are many quality books, tools, and training courses on the market oriented toward the manufacturing domain, yet they provide little information of relevance to project managers who work with intellectual processes more than the action details of production. So where does a project manager go for guidance on integrating the quality demanded in project implementation? Right here!
Project Quality Management by Kenneth Rose offers project managers a specific, succinct, step-by-step project quality management process not found anywhere else. It gives you an immediate hands-on capability to improve project implementation and customer satisfaction in any project domain and will help maintain cost and schedule constraints to ensure a quality project. This user-friendly guide presents tools and techniques that implement the general methods defined in A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge-Third Edition (PMBOK) published by the Project Management Institute (PMI), and augments those methods with more detailed, hands-on procedures that have been proven through actual practice.

Project Quality Management is a reasonable book on project quality. The author does an adequate job of introducing key concepts and demonstrating where they fit into the project process. If you are a project manager and are unsure of just how to approach developing a quality management plan, this book will offer a solution.
I give it four stars because it does exactly what it was intended to do. If you are looking for a book on quality, this is not the book you want to read. I recommend Deming instead. If you already understand quality but simply don't know how to create a quality plan, this book is a perfect read.
A very interesting book if you're looking for information about quality management, specifically tailored to managing projects. It covers the definition of quality, the history of quality management, several concepts of quality, and a whole range of quality management tools and methodologies. I especially liked the examples, case studies, and chapter summaries.
I read this as part of a course in project management I am taking and, despite the fact that I am a business major from many years ago, I found this book very interesting. It's a good way to learn about some of the details of an area that is not always managed in a very structured way.
Written using accessible language and provides just the right amount of information. Rose's books are the "go-to" books on project quality. Yet, with the advent of Agile and the developments in quality, this text is quickly losing relevance. Still, it remains a great introduction to quality management in the project context.
Project Quality Management: Why, What and How by Kenneth H. Rose is an excellent primer on quality management tools and techniques with Project Management in mind. The text goes through the history of quality management, its applications within the project management field, and the inputs, tools and techniques, and outputs of the process within the project life cycle. Quality management is important to ensure projects and project activities are completed up to the standards required by stakeholders, customers, and national and international standards, and failure to reach certain quality thresholds can result in an unsuccessful product or service, inferior quality (and thus reduced income) or even fines for non-compliance.
Rose does a stand-up job looking at the various aspects of quality management. The process of creating quality management plans, applying standards, budgeting for quality and applying threshold metrics is all examined in detail, and makes an excellent companion to the overview offered in the PMBOK, while also being more readable and easier to understand. This book makes an excellent basic primer to quality management in PM for those just beginning to learn, and certainly helped me in my course work on this subject.
About as non-boring as a text book on Quality Management can be. Easy to read and follow with plenty of workbook examples to give your new quality skills a go.
