Beautiful book. Very touching story about how breast cancer affects not only the person, but the family as well. Great tool for a mom with breast cancer to talk to her children about the disease. I loved the part about learning 'different ways to hug' so the child doesn't hurt her mom's stitches. HIGHLY RECOMMEND
When Mommy Had a Mastectomy is the perfect book to read to a small child whose Mom is having this operation. It covers the aspects of the entire situation gently and in a way a child can understand.

The beautiful illustrations compliment this fantasic and needed book
