As he enters the room looking like death personified, lifeless and haunting, she knows…blackness awaits.

Aaron Kavanagh is not to be trifled with. He’s powerful, commanding, fierce and currently homicidal. The only thing that matters in Kavanagh’s world is Shannon Kelly. She’s the beat of his heart (yes he has one) and the peace to the fury that constantly simmers with

Another WOW book from Ms. Karlsson!! When I finished book one with that huge cliffhanger, I immediately opened book two and started it. Thank goodness!!

This book starts out with a bang! The guys beat the hell out of Kellerman for something they believed he did. While they are doing that in the pool house, Shannon is abducted from her own home. You question how does that happen with all of these protectors and her personal bodyguard??

Once the guys realized what has happened, there is a rush to f

As you know, Blackness Takes Over ends with the cliff hanger of all cliff hangers, Shannon Kelly, aka Kid, is kidnapped from her own house. How, just how can this happen with all her protectors around? Well, you won't find out the complete puzzle until the end.

Blackness Awaits is everything I expected it to be and more. Seriously, it starts out full throttle. So much so that as I was reading, I thought sure I was getting ready for the end, and when I checked that percentage reading on my kindle,

I have been waiting for this sequel forever!! This story kept me on the edge of my seat! It was packed full of suspense that literally kept me on an adrenaline high, lol. It literally starts with a bang and never lets up!

Karlsson starts right where she left us hanging (in a good way) in Blackness Takes Over. Shannon (Kid) has been kidnapped and she has no idea why. The last thing she remembers is finding out Kel (her boyfriend) has cheated on her. Or at least that is what she thinks. She has no

This Amazing series will keep you awake, full of adrenaline and high on alert! Well written, with a story that keeps becoming better and better, characters that keeps on being sexy, witty, funny, fierce and full of affection and with whom you will fall in love with, even more so than in the first book!!! This rollercoaster of emotions will be fueled with all the testosterone brought up by this very sexy, meltingly hot alpha male bunch, and God will you need ice cubes at times!!!! With the first book ending on a bit of a cliffhanger I was really eager to read this one but not sure it would be as strong. Needless to say my worries were unfounded! All the characters are back but to say Norma Jean has turned up the heat would be an understatement. The series is one of my favourite in recent years and I hope they get the recognition they deserve.

I was left in a panic at the end of Blackness Takes Over, and couldn’t stop long enough to write a review. I wanted to find out what was happening and NOW! You must read the first book to know what is going on in this book and boy is there a lot going on. There are threats, kidnappings, shootings, vehicle accidents, and so much more. The story is intriguing, compelling, and addictive. I have found a new-to-me author and am addicted to the lives of the characters.

After Kel is terribly beaten, ba

I tried my best, but only ended up making it through about 2/3s of the book before I shut it down for good. I thought the first part of the book, when Shannon was kidnapped, was really good, and probably the only part I found interesting. After that, it just seemed like a circle of all of her guys protecting her in one way or another. It was repetitive, and honestly, I thought she eventually was more of an obsession than protecting someone they care about. I can't see any of them ever being in a ...more

Wow the author gave me the action I was missing. I strongly advise you read the first two books in order so you can feel the panic and understand what the characters have been through to get to this point. Book two starts out full of drama as we find out where Kid is and what is happening to her. We also have more people becoming involved in her story and the drama. With this round the author allows us to see each of the three “brothers” more in depth and to what lengths they will go to in order ...more

Blackness Awaits picks up right where Blackness Takes Over left off. Shannon has been kidnapped and the guys are losing their shit over it.

“This day is a fucking nightmare come to life. Butch is free and I lose a little bit of Mia, I fight with Kel, make up with Kel, find out Kel essentially cheated on me and got a girl pregnant, I make out with Taylor, I get kidnapped, and now I’m in blackness…fucking nightmare.”

Just when I thought I couldn’t love these characters anymore, this book blew my out of the water. The first book ended with such a cliffhanger I had to immediately go into book two. There were so many unanswered questions and things I needed to know. This book was amazing and I am giving it 5 stars.

So when the first book ends, tons of things were left unanswered. Who took Shannon? Did Kel really cheat on her? Why did Taylor play the victim card? Why did the guys not question Kel or Taylor? I lit

I wasn't sure what to make of of this series when I started reading the first book. There certain points of the story that annoyed me to no end.

Female protagonist stunningly beautiful? Yup
All her male friends model worthy with no imperfections? Yup
All completely love her and would lay their life down for her? Yup
Female good at everything she does and can do no wrong?? Yup

As you see here there is a theme of perfection all around. Makes for a cheesy read that makes you feel sick right??

This book picks up exactly where book one ended and never misses a beat. You need to read book one for everything to make sense. Shannon is kidnapped and everyone in her life scrambles to find out where she is and who has her. Dylan Kellerman is in love with Shannon but he betrays her trust in the worst way. Or so she thinks. Luckily Shannon is a strong woman. She will need this inner strength to help her get through this crisis. My heart broke for her with all that she had to handle. Shannon ho ...more

I had my heart break so many times while reading Blackness Awaits by Norma Jeanne Karlsson. I was so scared for Shannon, and then just when I thought everything was going to be all sunshine and roses, another threat pops out of the woodwork. This book is about the past coming back to haunt you, whether you had a hand in it or not.
Kel suffers silently for most of the story, but he does come back with a vengeance, only to be pulled back by his past. Will this couple be able to withstand the trial

Better than the first one!

A little deeper, a little darker...that's how I see this book. The connections between the characters deepen and change to a whole new level. Emotions run extremely high with the action picking up right where book one left off and never stopping until the end. There is no downtime with this story. Don't start it until you have plenty of time to read because there is no good stopping place. My heart totally broke for Kellerman time and again. I loved havinging the differ

Book 2 picks up where the first one ended. Keeping you riveted to your chair. I would note that it doesn't make a lot of sense if you have not read the first book in the series "Blackness Takes Over". Shannon is kidnapped and thinks the man she is in love with has betrayed her. Will she have the strength to survive, mend her heart and live her life to the fullest, will her family find her (they may not be blood but they are definitely a family!). The kidnapper is the very last person you would t

It's Good To Have Boys

I loved this book. Kid has been put through a physical and emotional wringer, no pure Hell, and she gets up and keeps on ticking. This is part two of Kid's story and this young lady is no joke, you like a strong spirited kick ass female who doesn't need a man to come to her rescue meet Shannon Kelly. This book will have you crying your eyes out at the awful things this girl goes through. Then you will laugh at the antics and trash talk between Kid and her boys. This is an e

WOW! This series has everything a story should have. I laughed, I cried, I loved with every one of the characters in this series. Emotions will have a roller coaster ride. Shannon, (Kid), has what every girl dreams of, family that love her, protect her, hold her, sleep with her, support her, give her everything she needs with out asking. This unconventional family will draw you right into their lives. There's suspense, mystery, love, grief and a lot of laughs. Love comes knocking at the door, al ...more

Another amazing book! I liked how the new characters were introduced and seeing their struggle with the dynamic between Kid, Cavy, Cally, and Sully! Kellerman was a big man to take on that family,I love the family dynamic of this gigantic family! I enjoyed Kid's bravery and fierceness at the night club, and how she is her own woman no matter what! I could not put this book down. Kid and Kel are amazing. This story picks up right where the first book leaves off. The family, as odd as they are, really just seem to work and come together when Kid needs them. Shannon finds a long lost friend in her time of need. AS the story goes she thinks she has her life figured out but of course it turns out different that she ever imagined. This book gives great closure to the story but leaves it open enough for more to come.

This is the first I have read from Norma J. Karlsson and have to say she Rocked. I am so into this series and love how everybody in this book come together. At first I was like What and then it all came together to make me a true believer in that family and love can come in different forms. I loved how strong the chemistry between Shannon and Dylan is that it is so life like. This is definitely a series you don’t want to miss.

Good read, hard to put down. Totally ridiculous how everyone was codependent on Shannon, but whatever, it's fiction. One thing that did get on my nerves was how Kellerman picked up the other boys' nickname for her and was constantly calling her Kiddo or Kid. That just felt like a weird way to refer to the woman you're madly in love with. ...more

I read this book to continue the first book. I needed both as background for the third AWESOME third book which can be read as a standalone. Like the first book, I felt this book was too wordy in conversations.
