Here's why:

It seems that for the first 40% of the book, the editor was taking a hike or tripping on acid or what-the-fuck-ever because it seems like they were completely nonexistent.
There were so many typos/grammer mistakes that it was driving me off the wall bonkers. We got the whole shebang: switching of MCs' names, repeats (i.e. "he made a he made a"), and randomly placed and missing commas, among other glaringly obvious mistakes. I mean, these were mistakes that a
2.5 stars The basic plot of this was good, and the execution with regards to story-line wasn't bad, it was the chemistry, interactions, and progression of relationship between Andy and Ken that lost me.

I'm okay with insta-lust or even insta-love in the right circumstance. But this wasn't it. From the very beginning they were drawn to each other. Fine. And I love me some banter. But they didn't banter so much as aggressively flirt and innuendo each other to death from the start. I really would

Violet forewent any actual relationship building to focus on sex scenes. I'm not sure if there were too many or they were just too close together, but I found myself wanting to read the story and stop reading about Ken and Andy sexing each other. Again.

I had the distinct pleasure to beta read this book. Ken and Andy are so opposite one another, but Silvia Violet makes them work together. The case that draws them together haunts one of them so much that he has nightmares and flashbacks. Neither is untouched by problems, though.

Two damaged men find refuge and solace in one another, but the problem is that it's going to come to an end much sooner than either would like.

3.5 Stars ~ Beginning a relationship, any kind of relationship be it friends, family, lovers, or employer and employee, based on a significant amount of distrust on both parts, never ends well. How could it? Trust is an integral part of any relationship that goes beyond acquaintances. 'If Wishes Were Horses' by Silvia Violet does more than its fair share of tearing back the covers and revealing the horrors that can occur when trust is no longer valued and appreciated, and instead is treated as a ...more

Andy is itching to get back to work, so convincing Gomez to let him in on the undercover case is imperative. Luckily she's convinced, so off he goes to try to figure out the where and the who of the drug ring operating on a ranch. The ranch Andy's going undercover at even though he hasn't worked a ranch in years. Thank God the new owner Ken is convinced that Andy's the real deal. Thank God too that Ken is hot and Andy's able to drag him into bed. Drag literally, as these two have so much

Wow! This was a seriously steamy book! Andy and Ken’s chemistry is off the charts! Both are very strong alpha type men. I loved that. This was an exciting read with cops and cowboys!

I always love having the opportunity to read a book by this author and being a big fan of her “Wild R Farm” series I was excited to read this one as well, as it was also bringing us to a ranch and what I was sure HOT men :)

I really liked the introduction to both Ken and Andy and theirs lives. It started out the story very nicely and made me very curious to read more about both men.

It’s very interesting to read how the men connect. You go through a very different range of emotions and

While I usually enjoy Silvia Violet's writing, I have mixed feelings about this one. I really wanted to like it, but never quite made it there. I didn't feel the intense attraction that Ken and Andy were supposed to have and the sexytimes were filled with so much anger, that it took away from my enjoyment of it. I'm ok with angry sex, in general, when the story calls for it, I mean what better way to work out your aggression, but with them it seemed that pretty much all their sex was angry sex. ...more

We've all heard romances described as ones where the main characters "batter down the walls" that each has put up, right? Well in this one you can take that description both figuratively and literally. Ken Carver has been the black sheep of the family both because he is gay and because he has built up his own business just to prove to his father that he could then sold it, walked away from his family and bought a ranch to run. Andy is an undercover officer whose last case went bad and cost the

Silvia Violet's If Wishes Were Horses is a decent suspenseful/action romance.

From the start, I became intrigued by Ken's decision to leave his company and family behind. This quick glimpse into his personality makes him immediately likable. Fast forward and he owns a ranch, having left his old life firmly in the past.

Andy's an undercover cop who's working on Ken's farm while trying to make a drug bust. The two get off to a good start, full of banter and snark. And lots of flirting. They are full

This is a republishing of the author's 2014 book which I didn't have an opportunity to read back then. The book's title made me curious so I googled the saying and "if wishing could make things happen, then even the most destitute people would have everything they wanted." Now Ken is far from destitute financially but emotionally he sure is. Ostracized by his parents because of his sexual side that he makes no excuses for he has become a self-made man of business success and now he wants to ...more

Andy made some mistakes on his last undercover assignment that has really left a mark on him but that doesn’t stop him from wanting in on this new assignment. One look at his new “employer” almost makes him second guess it all.

Ken recently cut ties with his family and is now trying to make an honest name for himself running his new ranch. He is suspicious of his new employee, Andy, but also fascinated by the infuriating man.

Andy and Ken together was...frustrating to me most of the time. I had

OMG I loved this book.
Ken Carver, outcasted by his family for being gay and for building up his own company only to sell it to prove a point to his father buys a ranch to run. He loves nothing more than to be outside with the horses than inside a stuffy boardroom.
Andy an undercover officer and suffering from PTSD has a score to settle with some drug smugglers after they took the life of a young boy caught up in it who was also close to Andy's heart. They are believed to be using a ranch owned

Ken was tired of the corporate life and never having lived up to his parents expectations, so when he sold his company and bought a ranch it was no surprise thar his parents disinherited him. Andrew a cop who after his last undercover opperation has been having issues not only at work but with ptsd's after a blotched job. When he finds out the group he was chasing in the last opt was back and running drugs out of Ken's ranch it's time to go back to work but finding a possible new life and maybe ...more

If Wishes Were Horses

The title of this book was enough to make me want to read it and I’m so glad I did. I actually couldn’t put it down! I loved the raw emotion from both of the main characters Andy and Ken. One a billionaire businessman who runs a ranch and Andy a very flawed cop with issues and a heart of gold (don’t let him know I said that, hehehe) there’s a ton of action in this story, in and out of the bedroom, barn, office.... If wishes were horses, maybe dreams really do come true.

Silvia Violet is a strong author who writes fantastic stories with characters you absolutely fall in love with! If Wishes Were Horses is another one of these stories - a fantastic plot line, strong characters with an underlying vulnerability and the love that develops between them! We get the added bonus of the life around a ranch! This is a fantastic read, and I can't wait for more from this author!

I couldn't put this book down. I wanted to know that Andy would be okay. I wanted to see Ken get his man. I wanted to know that the bad guy gets put away. On pins and needles trying to get the HEA for these two alpha males. These two men who have been through some tough times. I loved the cowboy aspect all rolled into this story as well. Both aggressive love making and a mystery to solve, this book leaves you excited to keep turning the page.

Great Read

I love reading work by this author. Whenever I’m reading I get transported to the world depicted in the book. This one is no different. Well except we as readers get the added bonus of a hot cop and a cowboy. There’s nothing to complain about. Lol, a great world to live in, sexy as sin characters, and uniforms.

I really enjoyed If Wishes Were Horses and found it to be a very good suspenseful/action romance. What could be better than a romance between a cop and a rancher! Great storyline with very interesting characters. Full of mystery, suspense, danger, murder, and so much more, you will enjoy the fast paced read!

An intense story. I’m a huge fan of Silvia’s, love her writing style that grabs my attention from the beginning to the end. Strong plot had me consumed by this story, a roller coaster ride of action, edgy and some of the most erotic intimate scenes I’ve ever read. Neither Ken or Andy had been in a serious relationship, in fact the complexity of their characters had me hungry for more. Side characters in Rusty and Renata were beautifully written.

Wow that was hot

This book was awesome. I struggled just a little in the beginning to get into the story but once I refocused it was so good. I've never read a book with an undercover cop so this was a first but I have to say I really enjoyed how Silvia portrayed the stresses of a police job. And the sexy times were super freaking hot! Like wow. Sign me up for some of that. It also doesn't hurt that this story is set on a ranch. I've always loved horses so I was pleased with the descriptions

This was one fantastic, amazing, grab-you-by-the-feels, intense, raw, gritty, intense, emotionally charged, poignant, super steamy, exciting, and totally awesome story. Filled with mystery, suspense, danger, murder, cowboys, cops, and more twists and turns than a roller coaster, it had me hooked from beginning to end.
If Horses Were Wishes by Silva Violet is Andy and Ken’s story.

Andy and Ken have an immediate attraction and connection to one another. Both Andy and Ken are at a difficult time in their lives and have so many unresolved issues. But the chemistry and attraction is just too much for them to walk away. Andy and Ken were dominate men and sometimes they would fight for dominance which created some really intense scenes. It was an entertaining read and I loved Andy and Ken’s characters.
