Jaguar Hunt | Terry Spear's Shifters

Jaguar Pride is book four in the Heart of the Jaguar series by Terry Spear.

Melissa and Huntley are both special agents for the Jag Forces, and they are both Jaguar shifters. Their job was to hunt poachers of big cats, primarily in the Brazilian rain forests. Melissa and Huntley work well together but have kept their partnership strictly business since they were both in relationships at home. But both of their relationships fizzled out at the same time so when they were off on their next job together, it didn’t take long for them to decide to take their partnership to a more personal level.

They had been trying to stop a poaching ring but had them all but the man in charge. So they went back to the rain forest to hunt him down. But they seemed to always be a step behind him. He and his men captured a male and female jaguar couple that just happened to also be shifters, leaving behind their two twin cubs. So Melissa and Huntley find themselves playing surrogate parents to two very small twin female cubs.

The more time they spend together the more they realize what was missing from their previous relationships and that they have found the perfect partnership with each other, both at work and at home. The chemistry was hot, hot, hot. But they still had a very bad guy to catch so once the babies were on a plane back to the States and safety, they decided to use themselves as bait to lure the poacher out of hiding.

This book was fun and sexy and a very enjoyable read. I love the jaguar shifters in this series. I love that even when they are in their jaguar coats, they still think as humans. I loved Melissa and Huntley together right from the start and hoped that they could work it out between them. Melissa has her doubts about going right into another relationship but Huntley isn’t taking no as an answer. Every time I picked up the book, I found myself flipping the pages as fast as I could and not wanting to put it down. You could read this book as a stand alone but why miss all the jaguar shifter fun in the previous three books?! I really have enjoyed this series and can’t wait to see where Terry Spear takes it next.

Initial Thoughts: Another solid installment in author Terry Spear's Heart of the Jaguar series. Each book can be read as a stand alone book, or if you wish to enhance your reading pleasure, they can be read in order. This is a fun read if you are into wildlife conservation and enjoy reading about tropical rain forests. The little jaguar shifter cubs were a cute addition/diversion for our lead couple to take care of.

The Review: Terry Spear is one of my favorite paranormal romance writers. Her Heart of the Wolf series had just the right amount of romance and humor. The Heart of the Jaguar series is a little more serious with environmental themes throughout. Jaguar Pride is action packed – think muddy rain forest and poachers. Melissa and Huntley are a very hot couple and it was fun watching them fall in love. I adored the addition of the jaguar cubs to keep Melissa and Huntley on their toes. Very cute.

Jaguar Pride can be read as a stand alone book or as part of the series.

Jaguar Pride gives a fascinating story that balances a wonderfully steamy romance with an environment suspense plot.

Huntley and Melissa are two agents on the JAG special Forces. They are partnered and sent to the stop animal poaching in the rain forest. Both have a mutual appreciation for each other but are in relationships at home.

As the story progress, Huntley and Melissa uncover a strong poaching operation that have ties close to home. Shifters have been taken in their animal forms.

Huntley and Melissa's personal relationships fall apart, leaving them rooming together when a great lead comes up to track down the poachers in the USA boarders. The lead sends them back to the rain forest where the danger for them has increased 10 fold and they must put themselves on the line as trapped animals in a cage.

The heat between Huntley and Melissa is slow growing but quickly becomes an inferno.

Spears once again provides a hot tropical romance with sexy jaguars and other exotic animals facing guns welding bad guys.

This is a very enjoyable and highly entertaining, Jaguar Pride won't disappoint the shifter romance fan.

Things are heating up in the rainforest when two JAG agents are sent in to stop ruthless poachers but Melissa and Huntley can handle every variable…even two babies in this thrilling paranormal romance.

This fast paced and smooth flowing plot keeps readers on the edge of their seats from the very beginning as the two agents save a mother cat and her cubs from poachers but that’s not the end of the bad guys – oh no they have lots of trouble and excitement to cause. The reader can’t help but get caught up in the story as Melissa and Huntley decide to continue their mission and chase the bad guys down ensuring there is never a dull moment and the well written scenes and details capture the imagination and the well orchestrated suspense draws the reader in and holds them captive until they have every last word. Spine tingling anticipation builds as the danger escalates and it soon becomes a matter of life and death to bring down the heartless poachers.

The characters are strong and compelling and grab the reader’s attention from the very beginning and let me tell you that Melissa and Huntley make the perfect couple as they complement each other in every way. The chemistry that burns between them is hot enough to scorch the rainforest and their flirty good natured ribbing as a bit of a lighthearted fun to the situation. But don’t think that stops these two from being the bad ass agents they are and doing what it takes to take down the bad guys and well when they find themselves on the toughest mission they’ve ever had…taking care of two shifter cubs while dodging bad guys and humans, well they handle that too admittedly while causing quite a few chuckles.

This series keeps getting better and better and as always this fascinating world enthralls me from the very beginning and this time Terry Spear introduces even more sexy Jaguars for me to obsess over so I can’t wait to read the next one.

Hotter than a sauna, Jaguar Pride by Terry Spear ratchets up the steam of an exotic jungle with the steam between two dedicated JAG agent shifters. Melissa and Huntley have been working on and off as partners, trying to stop the black market sales of exotic jungle cats who may or may not be shifters. When one bust gets to be more than they can handle, they must choose between rescuing a mother and her twins and capturing the head of the smuggling ring. An unfinished assignment is just too tempting to let go of, so when they both went back to the States for some R&R, and found their respective live in lovers wanted out of their relationships, what was to stop Melissa and Huntley from returning to finish what they started? What was there to stop them from starting what they both had been thinking of? Is it a good idea to have a romantic affair with your partner? When nature calls on Cupid for a helping hand, the temperature rises and their passions are unleashed. Danger is still just around the corner; can they still perform their duties and capture the villain? Could circumstances have them playing house in a very “family” type way?

Terry Spear can tell a tale! Two fabulous characters, some life-altering events and a partnership that becomes more than just catching the bad guys, she has included it all, once again! From the feel of the tropical jungles, to the strength of character of Melissa and Huntley, you are going to be in the moment, through the light-hearted moments to the deadly serious ones. I guess the only thing you need to decide is what color jaguar you would be?

Melissa Overton and Huntley Anderson are both jaguar shifters and operatives for JAG Special Forces who are on a mission to catch poachers in the rain forest of Costa Rica. They capture two poachers, but the ring leader was able to escape. How did they allow him to slip through their fingers? Will he be too elusive to catch? Melissa and Huntley are on his trail again when they are able to save shifter cubs, but the poachers get away with the parents of the cubs. Can they rescue the parents before it is too late? This mission has been more than they bargained for...they are special agents, not baby wranglers. Close quarters, two cute cubs, and two agents with their hands full can lead to some sticky situations. Will mutual respect and attraction blossom into something other than a romp in the rain forest for Melissa and Huntley?

Melissa and Huntley make a good team. They both know when to let the other take the lead on the mission. The chemistry is sizzling between them with plenty of hot love scenes. Jaguar Pride is one fun, action-packed, steamy paranormal read that I have come to expect from Terry Spear. I enjoyed this journey into the rain forest with all its exotic animals, and I look forward to the next adventure.

I had always meant to read this series since I have read and enjoyed Terry Spear's other shifter series Heart of the Wolf. Like usual I jumped into reading a series right in the middle with the fourth book and luckily like Heart of the Wolf, Heart of the Jaguar is a series you can just jump into with out any confusion. What I liked about JAGUAR PRIDE was the plot involving two people being thrown into a 'babysitting' job in the middle of a jungle. I assumed some hilarious hijinks would ensue with randomly shifting jaguar babies and I was not disappointed. While this isn't a laugh out loud story by any means I really loved seeing Melissa and Huntley try to figure out how to take care of babies with minimal supplies and no experience taking care of babies. Aside from the baby issues the plot involving poachers and kidnapping was pretty intense and felt like a thriller set in a hot sweaty jungle.

The type of romance with Melissa and Huntley is one of my favorite in the romance genre for its realism. These two knew eachother and had some attraction to the other person but never acted on it due to circumstances. Circumstances conveniently work in their favor and they find eachother in the middle of the jungle together. These two work so well together in the field and share so many commonalities in the way the think and what they want that if this were a series staring only them I'd be shaking my fist wondering why they haven't gotten together already. Luckily no fist shaking happens and the romance is passionate and fun.

JAGUAR PRIDE is an excellent example of a paranormal romance done right. It has a healthy dash of suspense and thrilling action with some humor and gentleness to balance out the darker plot surrounding poaching of jaguars. Terry Spear has always been on my list of authors whose books I will pick up and read without hesitation and I look forward to reading more of Heart of the Jaguar.

I enjoyed this paranormal romance with lots of fast paced exciting action. It's nice to see a friends first couple and I always like with the male pushes for the relationship. It had an important plot dealing with stealing animals from their natural habitat. Special forces jaguar shifters Melissa and Huntley are teamed together to hunt down wild animal poachers.

Shifters are in and I am totally a fan but there is just something special about the big cats.. There are plenty of authors who write shifter books and also plenty of good ones but Terry Spear sits in a category all her own. The research that goes into her stories shows in the detail. I look forward to each and every one of her books but have a very special place in my heart for her Jaguars..

Jaguar Pride is book four in her Heart of the Jaguar Series and a series threat to my Jaguar lovin heart. Each book tells a different story and a different aspect of the Jaguar Heart and Jaguar Pride is no different.

Melissa Overton is just a normal girl, who works for special forces, has a crappy boyfriend and is secretly lusting after her partner *grins*. Oh yeah and is a Jaguar Shifter... see, normal. But seriously, Melissa believes strongly in what she does, in her purpose and how she and the teams she works with make a difference for their species. Her boyfriend is a bit of a "PITA" and suffers from his own issues. When she returns from a job and discovers that he is laying down the law.. my way or the highway.. then of course discovers a few of the more truthful aspects.. Melissa picks the highway. With no where to go she turns to her partner.. *grins* and starts the sizzling..

Huntley Anderson is the kind of guy that believes in his job, his family and a forever sort of relationship. Too bad his ex just wants to have some fun. When he returns from a difficult mission and discovers she has moved out, he is shall we say a little bummed.. Of course it makes it a bit easier to offer a spare bed for Melissa.

And that's just the beginning.. These two have been given a mission to find some poachers.. only trouble is they are looking for poachers that have taken a shifter. The team isn't sure what the poachers know, if they are aware of just what they are getting or just want the animals. As the team travels From South America, to Texas and back again, Melissa and Huntley realize that there is way more to their relationship than just partners and friends. They want it all. The question is, can they have it?

Terry Spear understands her cats and the need to roam and be free but she also gets the human side of the equation. Believe it or not that is often the downfall of a good shifter book. The author does credible research but forgets the human heart. Terry doesn't.. she writes about a dual species and she knows that there is a uniqueness. That there will be individuals that deviate from the norm. That some will lean towards their human sides and others will lean towards their animal side. Rarely are they a perfect 50/50 blend. Makes sense. But that understanding helps create interesting characters.

I enjoy each of her books but her big cats have that sensual side to them that the wolves miss. It's in their DNA.. cats have that aloof but playful aspect.. that tease and it's fun to see it manifested in a human.

Another excellent book by Ms. Spears..

Melissa Overton is a Special Forces agent for the JAG, and her partner is Huntley Anderson, both are trained and jaguar shifters. They are on a dangerous mission, hunting a man that has been setting traps for jaguars and selling those he captures. Melissa and Huntley are determined to bring this man to justice for his wrongs. But as they hunt him, they enter into a dangerous situation and they find two shifter jaguar cubs and their parents have been captured. Their mission now is to keep the cubs safe at all costs, while everyone is searching for the missing parents. Having them as shifters, changes things dramatically, and as Melissa and Huntley are working together, a desire they didn’t expect rises between them and passions collide, and soon they find themselves in danger of losing their hearts…

This was such a fun and fascinating paranormal romance that had me on edge from beginning to end. I have come to really respect Terry Spear, and this shifter series has really had me all tied up in knots (but in all the right places. This series is very unique, she normally does wolf shifters but this Jaguar Shifter series is pretty exciting and thrilling and I was so lucky to get a change to get a chance to read this one. Terry Spear is always on my auto buy list, it doesn’t matter what the book is, and I will read it no matter what. When I started this story, I knew from the first chapter it would be a story I wouldn’t ever forget, and I was so right. This story had everything I adore in a paranormal romance and more!

The story begins with this partnership, and at the beginning of the story there is nothing romantic involved, and both of them are in relationships. But then they end up being single again, and are sent out on a mission, and a mission where they would come back forever changed. Their mission involves some charming cubs, and oh were they so adorable, but could get into trouble fast. They seem to bond to Huntley who isn’t exactly in his element where they are concerned, so it was quite funny to see them interact with each other. Now Melissa takes everything in stride, I loved her confidence and ease of handling dangerous situations, and she is a bit of a dare devil. She takes risks and isn’t afraid to, but Huntley keeps her grounded and keeps her from getting into trouble too quickly. They were quite the pair and you sense that they have always had a strong connection, and once they become single….watch out or the heat may burn ya!

Overall a sexy twist of endearing characters, dangerous circumstances, a blend of humor and suspense to really get you going, and a love story you don’t want to miss out on. A SENSUAL GEM OF A ROMANCE!!

~ 4 Jaguar Pride Stars ~

Jaguar Pride is book four in the Heart of the Jaguar series by Terry Spear and can be read as a standalone.

I enjoyed the story and characters. It did start of a little slow at the begging for me, but once Huntley and Melissa headed out on a mission to catch the poacher who got away from them, things started picking up. They work well together as a team and as a couple. I enjoyed how the relationship grew into a steamy hot romance, between Huntley and Melissa. I also loved what happens to them, when they are surprised with two shifter cubs, they have to take care of. Oh Boy! It was fun to watch them become instant parents for a few days until others in the JAG agency could come and help. The JAG agents show great dedication and experience. The humor and banter, between the couples and characters show the depth of love, friendship, and dedication they have.

Jaguar Pride is a very fun lighthearted paranormal romance with a slight mystery. Ms. Spear knows how to create a fun world full of sexy interesting shifters with the right amount of action and romance. I adore Ms. Spear’s work and will always re-read one of them.

Mission impossible…to stop as many poachers as possible! This is book four in the Heart of Jaguar series by Terry Spear. This is not only a sexy shifter romance but it is also an environmental drama that makes a statement. Melissa and Huntley not only share their unique love story but also their dedication to the preservation of big cats and in the rain forest.

Melissa Overton had dreamed of becoming a JAG Special Forces operative since the day her home had been invaded by thieves. It was on that day that she was rescued by JAG Director Martin Sullivan and knew she wanted to be just like him. When she was old enough to train and join the force, she did. Melissa had been on many missions and loved getting down and dirty in the rain forest while saving animals from poachers. On her present mission her partner was Huntley Anderson, a shifter that if she didn’t have a boyfriend and if he was not involved with someone; she would defiantly want to get to know better.

The woman was enough to drive him crazy! She was fun, spontaneous, liked to get down and dirty while running wild in the rain forest. He respected her dedication to the job and enjoyed working with her on missions. If he were not involved with another agent, he would make a move on her especially since his present girlfriend was putting distance between them. When the mission ends without the capture of the main poacher that they were after, the two of them return home to find themselves with significant others. Is this the chance he was looking for? Can Huntley convince Melissa to give him a chance?

Neither on is willing to give up on the hunt for the bad guys, so instead of going on a vacation they decide to look into possible contacts the poacher may have stateside. This is the beginning of a mission that will put their lives in danger and their budding relationship in jeopardy! Will they capture the bad guys and put them out of business? Oh, and what do you do with twin jaguar shifter babies? This is a not to miss, mission for these two highly motivated operatives! Will they make it out alive? Would do the babies belong to? Were they captured by the poachers?

Hero: Huntley Anderson 4 stars
Heroine: Melissa Overton 4 stars
Plot: 4 stars
Steam Level: 4 stars
Cliffhanger: No

Would I recommend this book: Yes! Two sexy jaguar shifters find each other while on a mission for JAG Special Forces. They heat up the rain forest with their sexual attraction as they pursue poaches hunting for exotic animals.

Would I recommend this author: Yes! Ms. Spears fills her books with humor, drama and sexy characters that never fail to satisfy her readers with each action filled pages. Each book pulls the reader into new and exciting locations with situations that need expert handling. Expect the unexpected and you will not be disappointed!

Huntley and Melissa have been partnered for missions several times through the years. Both have been in committed relationships before and have not given into their attraction--until this latest mission. Determined to find the man behind a poaching ring, Huntley and Melissa soon find themselves looking out for two jaguar cubs and in a rescue mission to find their parents before it's too late.

I have to say that this story was different from I had expected. I read Jaguar Hunt and liked it very much, but what that story lacked in the development of a connection this one had in spades.

I very much enjoyed how the author brought Melissa and Huntley's connection to the page. From the very beginning--even before any sort of romance took the page--I could see that these two had the type of easy camaraderie that I've always enjoyed. I liked that they were independent, head-strong and easy-going. Huntley and Melissa's interactions varied from candid to humorous and from sweet to sensual which only served to showcase how deeply connected they were.

As I expected, Terry Spear did a wonderful job in drawing me into Huntley and Melissa's world. I enjoyed every aspect of their mission simply because the author painted such a wonderful picture of this world. Be it when they ran through the jungle or were on the hunt for the poachers, every event brought about a sense of expectancy and adventure.

This time around the author spiced it up a bit by making a couple of jaguar cubs part of Melissa and Huntley's mission. Needless to say that with these two cubs present in the story, some sweet and funny antics would ensue. I loved every part of this element of the story. Especially watching how Huntley took care of them. It showed a whole different side of him that I would have never seen if these adorable cubs weren't part of the story. As if I needed another excuse to fall in love with the man!

Of course, I can't forget to mention the chemistry between Melissa and Huntley. At first it was a subtle presence. However, as the story progressed and they got to spend more time together it was easy to see the sparks flying from their attraction to each other. And when they finally did get together? It was everything I had anticipated it would be.

Although this is the fourth book in the Heart of the Jaguar series it can be read as a standalone. There's mention of characters from other books and plenty of backstory about the JAG organization and the shifter world these characters live in. But the story focuses on the mission at hand and the romance that develops between Melissa and Huntley. I have not read book 1 or 2 and was able to follow the story along without any problem at all.

All in all, a fantastic story with a bit of humor, some adventure and plenty of sizzling chemistry between two jaguar shifters to round it all up!

At dusk in the Corcovado National Park in Costa Rica, Melissa Overton barely heard the constant sound of crickets chirping all around them. Prowling through the dense, tropical rainforest as a jaguar, she listened for the human voices that would clue her in that her prey was nearby.

Waves crashed onto the sandy beaches in the distance as she made her way quietly, like a phantom predator, through the tangle of vines and broad, leafy foliage, searching for any sign of the poachers. Humans wouldn't have a clue as to what she and her kind were when they saw her - apparently nothing other than an ordinary jaguar. And she and her fellow jaguar shifters planned to keep it that way.

Her partner on this mission, JAG agent Huntley Anderson, was nearby, just as wary and observant. The JAG Special Forces Branch, also known as the Golden Claws, was only open to jaguar shifters and served to protect both their shifter kind and their jaguar cousins....

JAGUAR PRIDE by Terry Spear is the fourth book in her Heart of the Jaguar series. Every one of the books features sexy jaguar shifters. Hubba hubba. Even though it's part of a series with interconnecting characters, each of Terry's books can also be fully enjoyed as a standalone.

In JAGUAR PRIDE, our jaguars are defending their kind and other exotics from poachers in a Costa Rican jungle. Their end goal is to put a stop to the black market sales of exotic jungle cats I loved the interwoven conversancy tidings that were subtly promulgated through-out the book against the poaching of the big cats. I also enjoyed the educational tidbits about the wild cats that Terry deftly weaves into all her stories. Terry's books will educate you while you're being thoroughly entertained with a riveting environmental drama enhanced with steamy sex! Mmmmm... Sounds like a winning combination to me!

Jaguar Pride is the forth book in the Heart of the Jaguar series by Terry Spear. It is currently scheduled for release on February 3 2015. you do not have to have read the other books in the series to enjoy this book, they can each stand on their own. JAG Special Forces operatives like Melissa Overton and her partner, Huntley Anderson, are trained for the most dangerous missions in the harshest environments. They work well together, but try to keep it all business and get the job done as they protect their wild cousins. These jaguar shifters can handle any variable, but what about babies? When Huntley and Melissa find two jaguar shifter cubs snoozing in their jungle hut while on assignment, they have to keep the cubs and each other safe from ruthless poachers, bringing these partners closer in ways they never expected.

This description does not do Jaguar Pride justice. While Melissa and Huntley are jaguar shifters and elite special agents, they have even more complications to their lives than this little window into the story offers. They are both honorable people with intelligence and an affinity to the wild. They each start the story involved in other relationships, which adds a reluctance on both their parts to getting together. Professionalism and the addition to two little jaguar cubs while hunting poachers in the jungle makes things more complicated and potent for both of them.

Jaguar Pride is a solid and entertaining read. The characters are good and there is plenty of action and suspense to keep readers guessing. I think that there is an almost too easy acceptance of the relationship as long term by both Melissa and Huntley by the end of the book, especially considering the complications they encounter. However, since they did know each other for a time before the book picks up I can dismiss it and blame their previous friendship.

Happy Release Week!

I am particularly fond of Ms. Spear's Highland shifter series. While this one was steamy, and some of the shifter scenes were fun, it read like a PSA...for how bad it is to buy and sell wild animals. Don't get me wrong, I agree that the trafficking of wild animals should be stopped, but I did get rather tired of hearing how bad people are. Not all of us fit that bill.

What I did like was that Melissa and Huntley are a team for JAG Special Forces. Don't you love that name? Because they are also jaguar shifters. They are hunting for poachers and are looking at each other a bit differently. They've both recently stepped away from their significant others, for assorted reasons. Suddenly, it seems like becoming more than partners just might be fun. They are forced to pretend to be a couple anyway when they need to care for some temporarily orphaned cubs--cubs who shift to human every so often!

Once again Ms. Spear takes us on a shifting ride where we find steam, mystery, and romance.

Jaguar Pride by Terry Spear is the 4th book in her Heart of the Jaguar series. I really enjoy this series and Jaguar Pride was a great addition. Melissa and Huntley are Jaguar shifters, partnered together on a mission for JAG, Jaguar Special Forces.

The mission ends up taking longer and being more complicated than either one of them had anticipated. Along the way their budding romance takes shape and feelings grow deeper. Further complicating matters they find themselves caring for a pair of adorable Jaguar shifter cubs. The cubs are so different from what they are used to dealing with that it’s fun to read along as they cope with the challenge, losing a corner of their hearts in the process.

I loved Huntley. He’s a wonderful hero, you’ve got to love a guy that’s not afraid to commit. Melissa is the hesitant one in their relationship and Huntley makes it his mission to win her over. I loved their interactions and their moments of playfulness. Their romance is sexy, fun and endearing.

Jaguar Pride is a well written and fast paced story. It is engaging and heartwarming. Throw in a heavy dose of danger and action and it makes for an exciting read. I also enjoyed the secondary characters, Huntley’s brother, Everett and the Whittaker brothers. I’m hoping to read their stories in future books.

Jaguar Pride and the Heart of the Jaguar series is recommended to fans of paranormal romance.

Genre: Contemporary paranormal romance
Pace: fast read
Characters: likable
Story: character driven
Language: engaging
Tone: sensual
Frame: contemporary, Corcovada National Park, Costa Rica; Dallas

Series: Jaguar shifters, Heart of the Jaguar #4

JAG Special Agents Melissa Overton and Huntley Anderson are teamed up to catch dealers in endangered cats. They’ve come close to the ring leader, but not close enough. Returning home from their first assignment together, their previous relationships go south. They team up again for a second go at the poachers and this time find two cubs hidden in their shifter location. The cubs’ parents, also shifters, have been captured by the poachers. Melissa and Huntley have to babysit the cubs and hide them until they can rescue and restore them to their parents. The entire team of shifters go into overdrive to locate the stolen cats before they can be sold and separated forever.

Shifters are not my usual genre. The romance is good; the shifter culture is explained. Several of the poachers are killed in the process of tracking their network (although not particularly graphically).

Readers who enjoy Terry Spear should also enjoy the paranormal romances of J. R. Ward, Christine Feehan, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Kresley Cole, Angela Knight, Gena Showalter, Lara Adrian, and Lora Leigh.

This novel is a fantastic mix of action and romance. Spear writes in a manner that allows you to easily picture yourself standing in the midst of the action. She involves her readers in every aspect of the mission her characters embark on. Spear’s hot bedroom scenes leave you drooling. This all makes the unique and unforgettable plot of the story shine through. This author’s fantastic storytelling and fluid writing style top it all off.

This author has definitely nailed shifters as characters, creating a brilliant cast for this novel. She makes these shifters so very real. Not only is it easy to imagine how these individuals can exist among us without our knowledge, the individuals that we get to meet are just plain intriguing. Both the male and the female leads are strong individuals who embrace every part of who they are. They were also fun, approachable people that I truly wanted to read about.

This was a fantastically unique novel that I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to other lovers of the supernatural, and of romance with a twist. It can just as easily be read as a standalone or as part of the series.

I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in place of an honest review.

I didn't know how exciting this book was going to be until I started reading it. I could fell the attraction between Golden Claw agents Melissa Overton and Huntley Anderson. I was wondering how these two could get together since they had other sexual partners. Comes to find out that things are taken out of their hands and fate jumps in and throws everyone for a loop.

The author did a great job at describing how they look in human and jaguar bodies. All I had to do was picture it in my mind and it all came out so clearly. I could see the way their body moved while they were in their cat form. I could never imagine that this book could go the way it did until I got so much into this book. I love how they save their kind and real animals of the jungle.

This was a fun and exciting read and there were times that it might have gotten really intense. Even when these two couldn't see themselves settling down and having a few of their own. You just never know what you can do unless you are put into the situations as these two were. I can't wait to read more from this author.

REVIEW:
Huntley and Melissa are a great team on missions. They both are fearless, smart and love being wild. Oh and the like each other, only problem they both are dating other people. But that is okay work and pleasure don’t mix well.
I won’t give away anything but when you mix two Jaguars who like each other (A LOT), two baby Jaguar cubs, a lot of spilled milk, poachers and one weaselly bad guy you have a lot of action.
I really liked Huntly & Melissa together. I loved them with the babies too. I can’t wait to see what is next for this series.

Liked the story but almost didn't care if the love interests got together because it seemed that David was pretty blasé about it also...So didn't feel the heat....

This time, Terry Spear takes us in Costa Rica where her Golden Claws agents received orders to capture poachers.

As soon as they returned to town, they must go back to track down the hunter who managed to escape the first time.

But the mission takes another turn when Huntley and Melissa find two jaguar shifter cubs in their tent. Taking down bad guys and search for the missing parents seem like a peace of cake compared to babysit for two cubs who can turn into human babies at any time.

I'm gonna be sad when this series end (just one book left) because I love reading about the fauna and flora of those exotic places and I really like those uncomplicated but oh so sexy jaguar shifters. I like that Huntley was a black cat (even if the "typical" fur of the animal is so cute :))

It was not my favorite of the series, romance and action-wise, mostly because I felt there were unnecessary details, like the weird relationship both the character have at the beginning with an other person, who soon become their ex but end, in the two situation, in an anti-climatic and odd way, or like the unoffensive manipulation of Huntley' father. It was just weird. But having said that, the book was still fun to read, especially for the cubs part.

It's really the beginning that gave me trouble at first. Because it was kind of awkward how they tiptoed around the obvious attraction between them at first. It's almost like I felt the tension with them. I guess that's a compliment for the author, even if it made me feel uncomfortable. But I "applauded" when Melissa finally talked about the elephant in the room and after that I thought the dynamic was more interesting.

Like I said, not my favorite, but it always takes one right? And it's still worth the read.

I REALLY REALLY HATE POACHERS OF ANY KIND!!!!!! When a innocent trip 2 Costa Rico 4 a family goes wrong these 2 take everything they can 2 help save the family any way possible. People need 2 understand who is truly evil and catch them and punish them asap!! They both had dates but things change in unexpected ways that some people were surprised on but when certain lives r on the line people will band 2gether and won't give up until they get their justice!!

JAGUAR PRIDE by Terry Spear, Heart of the Jaguar, book 4

In JAGUAR PRIDE, readers go on a hunt with JAG Special Forces agents Huntley Anderson and Melissa Overton to find and stop the poachers in jungle of Costa Rica but Huntley and Melissa end up with two jaguar shifter cubs. Terry Spear uses the characters to show the impact of poaching affecting the survival of the exotic animals in their natural habitat.
