I liked the idea of this story from the first time I read the blurb. It sounded somewhat different from the stories I had read in the past. With that being said it was very hard for me to become engaged with the story for a large portion of it. I never really did feel much for any of the characters, they never fully came to life for me. I was never really able to connect to any of the characters except for small instances near the end. The characters were not completely real to me, they seemed t

This started out like other Zombie books….I was expecting it to come to life like the living dead to be honest but then became engaged and it was so much more. Turns out there was no outbreak, or disease rather it was a meteor and then control of the dead….strange but drew me in to be honest. There were numerous supporting characters that helped keep the reader on their toes although I will say that I did struggle in parts with the drawn out descriptions that could have been hyphenated a bit and

The Zombie Axiom is a different type of zombie story...an alien force lands on Earth via a meteorite, chooses a human host, kills everything within fifty miles, then reanimates the dead to do his bidding - his prime directive is to kill all living humans. This scenario repeats itself globally.
A handful of humans have survived the purge and continue to fight for their lives and sanity while seeking refuge. They finally escape on a sailboat and find other survivors out on the water, who band toget ...more

So this zombie tale is a little different from most. There's no viral outbreak... no ancient curse... no government experiment gone bad. Aliens come to earth via meteorites, choose a human host, kill everything within 50 miles, and then reanimates them to do the alien's bidding...which in this case is to exterminate all humans. We see this scenario happening all over the world. And beware that these zombies aren't the slow movers we are used to shuffling along the road... no way... they are fast

Wow, this is good.
I’ve read a lot of zombie books, and this one has everything I could ever want in a book from this genre…and then some. It starts out like a typical zombie book where we meet a bunch of individual characters just as the zombie outbreak happens. (There’s about an equal number of men to women, which is great.) Then there’s a lot of action, gore, chasing, etc. Then the characters of course meet up and work together – and they establish a safe haven in ways that I haven’t seen befo ...more

I liked The Zombie Axiom. I liked it because it is not the same as every other zombie novel out there. It is as dark, and horrorish as other zombie novels but most zombie stories have a disease or toxin that starts the whole zombie apocalypse. You know, one guy gets bitten, he bites someone, et al et al. Now this book starts with a Meteor shower which hits major cities first therefore turning those living in closer proximity to each other, versus the main characters who live in a former military

Though I've been a bookworm since I was a young kid and I've always loved sci-fi and horror, zombies and werewolves, I hadn't known about the zombie genre until last year. I discovered it after reading the vampire series of one of my favourite authors and then moving on to his zombie series.
Since then I've read a LOT of zombie books. Devoured them, one might say. Most have been entertaining though a lot have been fairly formulaic. The ones which stand out and encourage me to write a review alway ...more

At first, I had a hard time following the book. The book switches from character to character in the midst of a zombie apocalypse. I loved this author's take on a different kind of zombie outbreak (Meteors and then a Necromancer was controlling the un-dead!!) I love stories that are relate-able. The character's story and details of their life are so real. Eventually I fell in love with a couple of characters in the book. The more I read, the more I just wanted to read of the ones I liked. The Zombie axiom (In the time of the dead) by David Monette
5 stars.
A nice twist on my favourite genre, zombies. This book has all of the things I like to make a great read, good, varied and realistic personalities, Good versus bad, lots of gunsmoke and violence. It also drew me from page to page, always wanting to see what becomes of the three main characters, a martial arts expert, a mute and a fat black woman.

Let me start by saying this isn't your average zombie book. It doesn't start by some bio- hazzard or virus, it's from a meteor storm. There are several characters I really like but I have to say my favorite is "Silent". He is the epitome of the strong silent type. When the zombies rise everyone heads to an island in the middle of the lake for protection. It's all good until winter when the lake freezes, then it gets really interesting. Dont get me wrong along the way there are attacks and losses

I loved this book and couldn't put it down. Because I love it so much my greatest words are it wasn't long enough. lol. I didn't want it to end because of two reasons. The first thing I loved was that it was based on New York and Vermont. I don't see that often so I want to buy the actual book. My second love for the book was because the characters became people I could relate to and I just enjoyed the storyline. I am impatiently waiting to get the next in the series.

A group of survivors have isolated themselves on an island in the midst of a sort of zombie apocalypse, but come winter their island won't be so unreachable. I really enjoyed this book. The author is very descriptive, which I love. There are an assortment of characters that I wanted to either hug or punch in the face, and the story is told from shifting viewpoints, so getting to know them is nice and easy. The last third of the book is action packed and although I may have shed some tears at the

I received this book through a first reads give a away. Would definitely recommend for zombie genre fans. It is fast paced with plenty of action. I liked the idea of the necromancer but not so much his point of view sections. I also didn't care for the illustrations. I thought they were distracting. That being said the book drew me in pretty quickly, and I wanted to know what would happen next. I would read another book in this series and am interested to see where the story goes!
