From the driven-to-the-brink and pushed off the brink Melanie to sextastic Erin, from sure and steady Ryder to self-important jerk Drake, these characters push you to keep reading to see what the hell they'll do next. A cast that somehow manages to fit together with an incredible realism, they drive each other to do things that keeps the pages turning. Part love story, part fish out of water, part vampire sexiness, part wild crime adventure, this is a book with a plot so interweaved and twisted ...more

Kristen Strassel is evil. Why? Because her writing will suck you in with awesome characters and don't-breathe-until-it's-over situations. This story, and the one before it, intertwine and just MESH so fucking beautifully (that ending! Aaahhh!) And the plot twists will keep you turning pages! I so was not ready for this book and how thrilling it is. Was. Not. Ready.

Oh and Melanie the main character—I. LOVE. HER. She's so flawed and she's very aware of it. Thing is, she's unapologetically real abo

I really enjoyed this second installment in the Night Songs Collection. The characters were brought together due to circumstances that were not exactly something anyone would want to be dealing with (Melanie's situation was brought on by something that was pretty shocking to me actually) but but both found a way to make the best of an unfortunate situation through each other. Melanie and Ryder were both enjoyable characters. I didn't get tired of either one of them. I liked how they were somewha ...more

I was given this book in exchange for an honest review, Lovers of Paranormal.

If I'm totally honest I was enjoying this book until the last line and then it was a case of 'what? Really, you're ending it there??'

I'm not a great lover of cliff hangers anyway but this left me feeling that the book had been snatched away from me. I was miffed and almost wanted to reduce the stars given but to be fair, I had been enjoying it until then.

There were a few times where I found the situation a bit far fetch

I have to admit that this is not my usual reading material. At the first chapter, I wasn't sure what to think. But as I kept reading I got totally sucked in by the snarky voice, the dark underbelly and the hot scenes. Night moves is steamy and sexy. A cold shower might be in order after reading this book!

Hey guys! I'm super excited to bring you my review of Night Moves by Kristen Strassel, so read on...

Night Moves is the second book in the Night Songs series. I personally loved reading Tristan and Callie's story and couldn't wait to get my hands on the second book, which doesn't disappoint.

I will admit before reading a book I try not to read the synopsis or any other reviews if I know I am going to read the book because I don't want to have any preconceived notions about where I think the story

“We can’t change what we’ve done, we can only change the future. We still have the future. Let’s not throw it away.”

That’s what Melanie says to her vampire-rockstar-lover Ryder in NIGHT MOVES, the latest entry in Kristen Strassel’s sexy, edgy NIGHT SONGS series. I jotted that line down as soon as I read it, because it pretty much sums up the book’s appeal for me.

It starts off as a seriously shocking revenge fantasy: Melanie finds her louse of a boyfriend cheating with their downstairs neighbor

Let me start by saying that well I am really a huge fan of this series, I sort of feel like we could have had so much more from this installment. Please don’t think this changes my mind about telling you to read this installment in the series, but just know it gives you an insight to the world removed from the lights of Vegas and The Mistress, Talis de Rancourt.

The book starts on the east coast and centers the chance meeting of Ryder and Melanie. Ryder is a member of So

This book was not what I expected, but it was fine. I like the plot, so different from the typical vampire things today. So many twits, so many tricks that you could never expect. My favorite character was Ryder. He's so sexy and cool, but he is good, and gentleman and, even when the hard path he had lived, he hasn't destroy his soul and try to be as good as he is willing to. He wants a new life and to find the love he has lost thanks to this state he didn't ask for. But maybe the best of the bo ...more

Recommends it for: Anyone who loves music, romance, life on the road, vampires and all the dark and sexies.
This book has all the right moves, so the title is especially appropriate. Melanie screws up in the worst way you could possibly imagine, and she does what any sane person would do--she runs, only she trips and falls straight down the metaphorical rabbit hole. If you want to live out your teenage fantasy of meeting your favourite band member in a lonely hotel, look no further.

I loved Melanie and Ryder's relationship--it was believable, which is a *must* when you're writing about a girl who meet

"Why was it we couldn't say what we really needed to say until life had us down on our knees, begging for mercy"

In the second installment of The Night Songs collection, we are once again lured into Kristen Strassel's vampire rock band world with a page turning story of murder, lust, and betrayal.

I was surprised to see that the main characters in this novel were different from the first, but trust me, it all starts to make sense and come full circle in the end. Kristen's writing, as usual, is fu

I was given this book in enchanted for an honest review (Lovers of paranormal). I absolutely loved this book. It was very well written and I developed a love for the characters fast. The vampire realm was fabulous and not a common realm either. I can't wait to read more work from this auther. Loved loved loved this book. Thanks!

Characters: Human and vampire alike, Kristen created a diverse and dynamic cast in NIGHT MOVES. Every character has depth and dimension that you don't always find in a book filled with vampires or rock stars (or in this case vampire rock stars). I found characters to love, hate, sympathize with, and cheer for within the pages of NIGHT MOVES.

Relationships: This book isn't just about what happens between Ryder and Melanie. NIGHT MOVES is an intriguing look at the relationship dynamics across the e

Night Moves is the second book in the Night Songs series. I loved reading Tristan and Callie's story and couldn't wait to get my hands on the second book, which did not disappoint at all.

I was thought I was going to read a book about Immortal Dilemma but instead I was introduced to and kind of fell in love with Soul Divider. Night Moves was definitely a good book but there a couple of moments that kind of just had me asking “WTF”.

I loved Mel but would have loved to seen her grow some. She seemed

Strassel’s writing takes off from the first page of this novel and doesn’t stop until the very end. Her approachable and vividly charismatic writing paints this enticing world right before your eyes. There’s much more intrigue and suspense in this novel than the previous ones in the series. There’s also a much more intense storyline. I love Strassel’s take on Vampires. It’s unique without rebuilding the entire supernatural world.

I do have to take a moment to comment on the ending of this novel,

When I started, Night Moves, I didn't realize that it was the second book (actually third, if you count the prequel) in a series. Not that it matters that much, as you can read this one alone, and still enjoy it very much. Of course, after reading it, I had to buy the other three books (yep, there's another one after Night Moves). From the very beginning, Night Moves grabs you and keeps you reading.

The main character, Melanie, has devoted herself to her job, leaving her long-time boyfriend a bi

Kristen is killing me with these cliffhangers and I think she likes it. I'm over here dying and she's following one cliffy up with another. I like how in this book my hatred of Talis has just grown substantially. And I felt like Melanie and I were the only ones. drake was another one I felt like Ryder wasn't seeing clearly on. I mean come on the guy was an asshole to everyone around, especially The band and Erin . And no one stood up to him. Erin was just too far gone and I was just waiting for ...more
Sexy, guilty pleasure reading that was more than romance. It's a lot about power and what happens when we let the wrong people have it (in Ryder's case) and in Melanie's, how much burying herself in her career really cost her.

More gruesome than I was expecting, and I was curious to see what kind of consequences Melanie would face at some point. Thin development in some places (esp. would have liked to know more about Melanie's background) where the story could have been stronger and some clunky

Melanie is on the run after doing something so horrible and can never fix. She drives until she HAS to stop. At the hotels bar, Melanie is completely shocked to see Ryder Maddox, guitarist for the band Soul Divider. They are exactly what the other has been needing. Ryder also has a terrible secret. In order for Soul Divider to once again become as popular as they once were, the band mates sold th

This was a fun read. I am not much into vampires, but I am a big music buff. The idea of running away and meeting my favorite musician, and then going on tour with them is a fun thought. Ryder is hot. I did like the mystery note in it and there was some laughs. Now I have to read the the first book!

This book is used to introduce you to Melanie and Ryder and their story. In my opinion, Melanie was the leader in this "power" couple. At times I really needed Ryder to grow a pair.....eventually he did and hence my favorite quote from the book "Ding dong the witch is dead".

So the lead heroine kills her cheating boyfriend I presume and runs away meeting a gorgeous rock star who happens to be a vampire?.

Sorta different I guess. Intrigued.

I expected book 2 to pick up from book 1. I had to go back to figure out where the characters from this book came from. If I had listened to this one directly after book 1, it probably would have made more sense. I guess this could have been a standalone, but it left me hanging at the end. It was still a good paranormal romance. I guess I'm going to have to move right in to book 3 in order to finish out the series and hopefully pull the stories together. The narrator was okay. Not my favorite, b ...more

Kristen Strassel is far cooler than she’ll make herself sound in this bio. She enjoys spending time with the voices in her head—nudging the characters toward those bad decisions and a happily ever after. When she’s not writing, she’s often still in the land of make-believe—doing makeup for film and television. And when she’s not doing any of that, she enjoys making her house look like a Pinterest ...more
